A blunt black and white background surrounded a tiny little creature; a dark and light pup that wasn't even half a year old. His eyes glowed a white light, almost paranormal. Though it wasn't visible, his orbs looked around him as he sit in the briar. He looked carefully at the Dark spikes that seemed to be in every direction he could see. The sky was white which meant it was still early, probably noon but the sun wasn't set up too high in the sky.

The boy wrapped his tail around his paws, waiting patiently for something. His head moved slightly every once in a while, turning to a different briar bush careful not to touch the spike or get too close to a cluster. The path was wide enough for him to get by, but maybe not a large wolf.

It was odd that a young pup, especially as young as he, was to sit alone in such a dangerous place. He could easily wonder into the thorns and getting severely injured. But he couldn't get out if he even tried. The boy was blind, and though he could use his knowledge of depth perception, there was no way he wouldn't end up cutting himself and bleeding out. He couldn't look in every direction, and it was hard to tell how far off the thorns would be. So the pup would just sit and wait, but what was he so patiently waiting for?

Her own pups were growing up so fast, already starting to wander out of Orchid's den. She couldn't seem to leave the girls side, she had been so helpful to her as her strength started to grow. But on this day, there was something in the fresh spring air. There was something wrong, she could feel it. Her motherly instincts were kicking in. She trotted over to her dear friend Ellis and asked if she could look after the two of them, there was something tugging at her heart. She was very much blessed to have such a good friend in the small woman, they often traded off watching the little ones. It was perfect that they both had their litters so close together, the babes seemed to already be growing into friends. So she set off, following that strange feeling that was tucking at her creamy coat.

Othello's instincts brought her to a thick briar, thorns sticking out everywhere and threatening to latch into her long tail. Lifting the appendage up she took great steps, trying not to catch her low hanging belly on the thickets. It was then that she saw the little one, pale eyes looking out blindly to the world. She knew what blindness looked like, both of Ellis's pups had eye defects. Poor Try was completely blind, Thesis only in one eye. But the glossed over look was a tell-tale sign of the pups lack of sight. The dame cleared her throat, hoping not to startle the poor dear. "Hello there little one." She said calmly, making her way carefully over to his little black body. "I'm Othello, are you lost child?" Her voice was level and calm, but she felt so compelled towards this little one. She licked the top of his head, wanting to calm the tiny beast. Being all alone in a place like this was no place for a pup.

The little pup could feel the ground move under his paws. There was someone else in the briar, and he knew it wasn't his mother. He smelled the air, catching the scent of something unfamiliar to him. But before he could even think, a woman's voice hit his ears. His ear swiveled in her direction, his head then slowly turning to face her. His invisible pupils caught her bright outline, her eyes being shown black. He tilted his head in response and her body moved to him and licked the top of his head. He let his eyes close as she left his skull. The pup had never been in contact with another wolf besides his mother; he had been near others but never made contact.

"Oh, no miss. I'm waiting on my mama."

He moved his head to face away from her, almost like he was pointing in the direction she left.

"She told me to wait here, she said she'd be back."

It had been obvious that he hadn't eaten in at least a few days, and his rump had matted from him sitting in the dirt too long. He turned to look back at the female, who had stayed by his side, but he remained sitting.

When the little one spoke, her heart shattered. It was obvious that he had been left behind, she could tell that he had not moved from this position since he was told to wait. Othello found herself having to choke back the tears that threatened to well in her purple eyes. Who would leave such a helpless little being behind? Gently nuzzling the little ones back, she noticed just how thin and dirty he was. "Oh my dear, would you come away with me? This is not a very safe place to stay." She cooed softly, trying to convince the tiny being to come away with her. She didn't want to openly state that he had been left behind, it was too serious a subject for one so fragile.

Othello just wanted to scoop this little one up and carry him home. This area was not good, and she hated the fact that he had just been sitting here, waiting for someone to come and get him. Anger flared in the new mother. Who would do that to someone so innocent? "What is your name darling?" She asked, unable to sit beside him and give him the warmth that she wished to. So instead she began to groom his dirty little coat, soothing herself more than him.

The scent of Covari?s new mother leaving Covari territory would startle the healer. She had strayed near the borders herself and had been considering wondering in search of herbs when she had caught the others scent. Part curiosity and part worry would drive her along the path of Othello, but what she had not been expecting was the sight that befell her. Othello was kneeling over a little form and carefully cleaning its coat. She could see immediately that the boy was malnourished and abandoned for a few days now. Water would be the most essential thing to get into him and there were some herbs she would like to get into him too. She approached cautiously, as through afraid of startling him away.

?Hey Othello, what have you found there?? She kept her tone soft and sweet for the boy despite the words being for Othello as she came up besides the other girl.

His head tilted downwards as the woman told him to come with her. He didn't want to leave, he believed his mother would be back. Sure she left days ago, but he wasn't going to leave her. His paw raised and slowly padded the ground and dug a tiny indent on the dirt.

When she spoke again, his chin remained lowered, only his ears moved to her to show he was listening. "I'm Exodus." His skull then raised to the sky, his pupiless eyes staring into the darkened spots of clouds. The woman started to lick him clean, something he let her do without hesitation. "Do you think," But someone else had stopped him in his words.

He faced the new girl that approached the two wolves, she seemed to know the woman that was caring for him. She was light, like Othello, but her face was slightly more grey and her eyes darker. He wouldn't speak, but let Othello speak for him. The two knew each other, so he had no obligation to be a part of what they were to speak of.

The little one went on to speak, seeming soothed with her actions of cleaning him. He was cut off though, the sound of paws falling drew her attention away from him. Her ears fell flat against her skull and a growl started to form, but as soon as she looked up and saw Orchid her gaze softened. She asked her what she had found, and she protectively nosed the little black one. "Orchid, this is Exodus." She said calmly, searching the dames face. Her eyes were wide with worry, and she gave a helpless shrug of her shoulders. She needed help to get him out of here, he seemed rather set on staying here waiting on a mother that wasn't going to return.

"Exodus, why don't you come with me and Orchid? We can get you some water and food." She was getting desperate now, all she wanted to do was to drag this poor little soul away from here. This was a terrible place for him, and he needed a lot of attention. He deserved a lot of attention. If she ever found out who had left this little one behind she would tear her limb from limb. What kind of mother could just abandon their pup without even looking back? It made her angry, very, very angry.

Orchid would finish coming forth now and she too would lwoer her nose to the height of the other and look the pup over. She did not touch the pup but examined with sight and scent alone. ?hmm? would be all she said afterwards and she would raise her head again and turn her attention for a moment to the mother. ?The poor thing is in shock, and needs water? she would whisper to the girl, too quite for the pup to hear.

Orchid would then nose about in her leaf bag and pull out some herbs and offer them to Exodus. ?Would you take these for me? I would be much happier if you did? she would utter softly as she lowered them to the pup. There was Elderberry to boost the pups immune system, she was certain he had been out here for a while with out much food or water and was suffering without the proper nutrients, the last thing she needed was for him to get sick. There was also calming herbs there would make him nice and calm and perhaps ease his worry to their need to move him from this spot. If he refused to come then they would either drag him or make him a den here and bring him food ? she would leave that decision to Othello.

His ears would twitch to the sound of the other woman's whispers; Orchid, he would catch her name. He couldn't hear what she quietly spoke to Othello, but when she offered him some herbs he would gently reach to her maw to grab them. His nose hitting her a bit rough as his perception was off. But he would continue to gnaw on the plants, making a face to their taste.

As he munched on them, his face would turn back to Othello. "Do you think Mama will come find me where we are going?" He would stand to his paws, moving his neck to the rough gulp finishing what Orchid had given him. "I don't wanna leave her." His stance showed the two that he would go with them, but he would voice his thoughts anyway. He was pretty thirsty, but his hunger was long gone. He would follow them for the help they would offer, but he planned on coming back for his mother.

Quote:She was thankful that Orchid had showed up with herbs, and that little Exodus would eat them up without so much as a complaint. Letting out a soft sigh, she was about to pull the pup away when he stood on his paws, asking about his mother again. Othello flinched, her purple gaze shooting to Orchid. What should she do? She didn't have the heart to tell him that his mother was probably never coming back. She searched the healers face, trying to see if she held all the answers. They needed to do something. At lease he seemed willing to come, but he was dead set on coming back for his mother. Another soft sigh was passed through her lips, leaning down to nuzzle the poor being.

Othello collected herself, looking at Orchid again before she focused on the dark hued pup. "How about if I send a big wolf every day to come here and check for your mom? That way you can stay with me and be safe. This isn't the nicest of places Exodus, but Scorpion is big and tall and its easy for him to step over the prickles. How does that sound?" She asked, her voice threatening to break. It was so sad, and it was tearing her in two. Why couldn't his mom have taken him? There was absolutely nothing wrong with him at all.

The dame gazed around at the thickets, knowing that it might be easier to carry the pup out of here. "Exodus, would you like me to carry you so that you don't hurt yourself?" She asked, fully prepared to carry this poor being to the ends of the earth if she had to. He did nothing to deserve being treated like this.
