Ooc:: Gonna set this while Akemi is still part of Arcanum, before Cat handed it over.

Her hip hurt, even after the bite had healed. Perhaps it was just her mind thinking that it hurt, and that in reality there was no actual pain. The small woman wasn?t sure what lured her out here, so far away from home, but she kept moving for now. Some had fallen sick within the pack, though she didn?t know how to help any of those who were ill, and relief would be found when the cure was discovered, spreading through the lands. Luckily neither she nor Hati were effected, though she wondered what had become of her other siblings. Baldur... Thor... Those two especially stuck on her mind. So when a strange wind brought the scent of family to her, how could she not respond?

It was odd, however. Puppies were in this mix of scents. Some bore more of Loki?s scent then her own, and her other black coated brother was among the scents that were there. She would walk to the area, more-so searching for her family rather than calling out to them. She felt a stranger... To have so many gathered in one place, at least by scent, and not be among them. But she did not regret her choice to stay with Hati, to be by the side of the big brother she looked up to when everyone else looked down on him. He was her hope, and her destiny. The woman would pause, scenting the air. Who were all these pups...? Who did they belong to? Red eyes would shine in confusion. Were her three brothers... Parents now?

A silent form slunk over the snow coated terrain, watching the smaller form that stood alone. Such a lonesome stance it bore, almost sorrowful. She could see it from here. Steel cords of muscle over her frame propelled her towards the other without fear, for she need not show fear. Fear was weakness, and weakness meant death in strange lands. Her ice cold gaze remained fixed on the golden figure as she approached, not shifting in the least as she traversed the grounds she was becoming slowly familiar with. Not that it mattered, she would be leaving soon anyways, returning home with her brother as soon as he was able and saw the danger in staying here. But it could be some time before he was healthy and right to travel again, he was so sick, scrawny. However, she would fix him up again soon enough. Without the constant threat of a beating from their father if they showed their faces, it was easier to hunt, she only had to hide from the prey.

As she came closer, she made no move to greet the stranger. Instead, she stopped a short distance from the stranger. She stood on higher ground, simply staring down at the smaller wolfess. Who was this? A trespasser? A threat to her or her brother? Hackles would rise in the slightest, powerful muscles bunching beneath her thick pelt, at the ready. Ebony tail would also be raised, slowly coming to be held stiffly, level with her spine. Inky lips would slowly lift to reveal the tips of deadly ivory daggers. She was not having any threats in her territory, no way no how.

A pale cerulean gaze would remain fixed upon this strange figure and their unfamiliar features. She had the size and weight advantage, that was clear, this stranger would have a hell of a time if it came to a fight. The onyx audits atop her crown would be shoved forward, silently seeking an explanation as to why this woman was here. There had better be a good one, and a name to go with it. She would settle for no less. She had to know exactly what she might be letting any closer to her begrudging family, because her tolerance for danger towards those she took to protecting was nonexistent. Silent and somewhat patient, she waited.

"Come off it, Dyani, she's your cousin."

Loki's irritated words were grumbled out as he brushed by the yearling Thor and Baldur had brought back with them after their foray to the good old family pack. Surprising that Dyani didn't recognize Akemi, but she'd have been a pup yet when Akemi left - or had she even been born yet? Loki had a hard time keeping track of his siblings' ages, let alone cousins.

His dark form sauntered down to slip up next to his younger sister. "Akemi, finally decided to leave Hati and take up with the rest of us rogues?" His voice was more dry than anything, knowing his sister's obsession with their oldest brother made it rather unlikely. He didn't even bother making a joke of it... she'd just get offended and be a brat and after taking care of seven pups and two untrained yearlings with just him and Thor and Baldur, he was just far too tired to deal with that just now.

Paws stumped in the snow in anger. She didn't like it here still, it was too new, too strange and it seemed Bera and Eostre didn't need her. More than anything it was the feeling of not being needed anymore that made her upset. She was becoming isolated, silent, unless Thor was around. For some reason she jus loved to push his buttons. And secretly she admired him, he didn't give up that was for sure. The others were abit easier to get along with. Loki had his own pups to care for and Baldur was abit off but not pushy like Thor. Even so the little girl was at a loss on what to do.

She was slowly gaining weight but her tummy hurt all the time. She did not voice it though, hoping it would do away on its own. But stomping through the snow alone she whined and groaned with each twisted lurch of her belly. What was wrong with her? Was she eating too much? Her blue eyes would tear up, blurring her vision as she stumbled around. She wanted to find a warm place to curl up and sleep away the pain. She didn't see the group off to her left as she moved. But by then her rear slumped to the ground and she curled in on herself with a groaned, eyes closing. Did she eat something bad? Not possible when everyone else was eating the same thing.

And I Know That I

I Sometimes Tend To Lose My Temper

And I Cross The Line
Akemi would walk on, until finally the form of another would rise before her. A larger wolfess of silver and ebony, standing on higher ground before her. There were no words spoken, though her form betrayed dominance. Her red-brown ears would flick back, paws slowing to a stop. She did not wish for a fight, especially not if there were even younger pups nearby, for this girl before her was even younger, despite being larger than her. The female would allow her red gaze to meet those of pale cerulean, searching for the words to say. How she was being regarded as seemingly a trespasser... It discouraged the woman, but she would not leave.

Then a familiar face would show, though not particularly one of the brothers she was closest to. Loki, calling this other she wolf, Dyani her... Cousin? Wait, what? Akemi would raise a brow, trying to remember if she had any cousins or not. She couldn?t recall, though just before she left the pack she had hardly stuck around most of them, being distant as possible. So this girl... Was her cousin... Gaze would flick to Loki, feeling mixed feelings at his words. A bit of anger, that would even make a comment such as that, and at the same time... She wished she could come and join them. Akemi would give a soft sigh, shaking her head.

?No Loki... Can?t say that I have... Or ever will.? Her words did not hold her usual fire, and she did not meet his gaze as she spoke again. ?Regardless of the choice I make I won?t be happy with it... My heart will always be torn. Though it is good to know that some of you are together, staying strong...? Akemi would lift her gaze back to Loki. It was uncharacteristic of her not to give him a hard time... But... Akemi was growing... And even with being with Hati she felt the distance between her family all the more. She still felt somewhat alone... Wishing they could all settle together... Even if it wasn?t possible.

?I?ve missed all of you... Even fighting with Weth...? The small woman would give a sad smile. ?...There are pups here too... Which of you are parents now?? Gaze would catch movement then, frowning worriedly. ?Wait a minute! There?s a pup alone over there!? She wasn?t sure if the other two would be comfortable with her approaching the other, so she motioned instead, hoping one at least would go take care of the small creature.

The smaller woman backed down, her crimson gaze looking almost... confused. Not that is mattered, as long as the tri toned femme's point had been put across she couldn't care if the stranger burst into tears. Icy optics flicked over the brown form, wondering what might have brought this wolf here. The scent bore some form of familiarity, but she couldn't place it, and couldn't be bothered to rack her mind in an attempt to do so. Her only goal was to discern the reason for the wolfess' presence, which was not yet forthcoming. The sound of footsteps behind her, and an irritated set of masculine vocals snapped at her.
Loki came onto the scene quickly enough, all charm and smiles. A grunt of irritation and disdain was shot back from the cerulean eyed she wolf, who then resumed her usual posture. Her ebony hackles fell, and she looked away. If the onyx man had this covered, she had no reason to be here. Though, the presence of an unknown cousin was somewhat intriguing. She hadn't met this relative, and was coming to find that she had many in this place. What was so great about it here anyways? A silvery puff of mist would escape her charcoal sensor as she scanned the landscape. The ensuing conversation between the two older wolves fell into the background as azure pools locked onto a small form slogging across the snow. Rounded, odd ears marked the little wolf as Arnporr, one of her younger cousins.
Just then the small frame slumped into the snow, curling up on itself pitifully. The vocals of the stranger announced this just moments after, but Dyani was already on it. Powerful paws ghosted over the snow, a thin layer of ice having formed as temperatures rose and fell over time. Her crown would fall between her shoulders as she regarded the little one warily. "What's wrong, Arnporr?" Gruff melodies would inquire, trying to be gentle but failing quite miserably. Tenderness wasn't her strong suit, unless her brother was involved. It was easier with him, he had known her all their lives and he had needed her gentleness on many occasions- nightmares and sicknesses, hunger pains and injuries. She would stop a short distance from the youngster, ice toned optics scanning over her frame curiously. Cranium would lower further, nostrils flaring to find scents betraying sickness.

Ullr was hiding from the Gyres. The nasty things were scuttling outside his den and he didn't want to go out, at least not til Dyani returned. She scared the Gyres and made them go away. Besides he knew that the Rath had sent them to watch him. It was always watching, everything he did?. waiting to punish him. He frowned? no? no they weren't waiting for him to come out. They were going to crush him inside his den! The safe, warm den suddenly felt like it was closing in around him. Ullr shrieked in panic and dove out of his den and out into the open of the snowy plain. Snow? it was?

Ullr's gaze turned to the sky. SNOW! All anxiety vanished as he laughed and leapt at the snowflakes trying to bite them. Snow was the bestest, purest thing and it dissipated all evil. He was safe! Now to find Dyani. Nose to the ground he quickly picked up the scent. If there was one thing he was talented at it was tracking. Shame no one but Dyani had ever acknowledged that skill. "Dyani! It's snowing!"

He came upon their brother Loki talking to a girl who was? another sister? "Hi I'm Ullr! Are you our sister too?" He noticed Dyani take off toward Arnporr and he followed, reaching out to sniff her. "Your tummy smells funny? are you sick?"

Can we pretend that airplanes

In the night sky are like shooting stars?

The large male was alive, somehow, and, despite the pain going through his body, slowing him down, Freyr kept going. One light blue eye was closed, and the fur around it was covered in mud and blood. Panting heavily, the Hr??vitnisson only had one thought go through his mind. What a shame that he was so bloody now, so.....flawed. When the scent of Akemi came through, Freyr stopped, his light eyes gleaming as he stared into the distance, where he could see Akemi's form, Loki's form. A happy yelp escaped his jaws, and the wolf began to run, although he wasn't very fast, hindered by the wounds covering his body and the hunger pains that made his stomach rumble. After a few moments, the gold and black man stumbled, falling on his stomach briefly, still a long way from Akemi and Loki, and the other three. If he had to, he would fend off all four of them to make sure the wolf that he cared for so much was okay.

Finally, with his chest heaving and a low whine escaping his gold and black jaws, Freyr made it. Frosty blue eyes glanced down at Akemi as the male walked over to her, despite the blood covering his fur. Not even sure if she'd recognize him, Freyr still decided to take a chance. "Akemi......I finally found you, found our brothers. I missed you, Akemi." With a slight wag of his tail, Freyr turned to face his brother, a low growling noise escaping his jaws. Although he had changed some, he still considered Akemi his territory, and only his. With a shake of his bloody head, Freyr smiled weakly, trembling with the effort of not eating in so long. With a glare at Dyani, as if he were telling her to dare and challenge him, Freyr smiled at Akemi, lowering his giant head to stare into her eyes. The large man would attempt to nudge her face gently, his jaws opening to lick her face, no matter what Loki said. Finally, he stood, and wagged his tail at the other three.

But his happiness faded quickly, and he spoke, his voice even softer than usual. "Hodr.........I don't know what you have heard, but he......Isn't around anymore."

I could really use a wish right nowFreyr

Loki lifted a skeptical brow as Akemi spoke. What in the world had happened since she'd first come here to make her so... subdued? She'd always been the irritating little spitfire, but now she sounded like someone had thrown a wet blanket over her. "Rumors notwithstanding, I actually am capable of tolerating our family," he added, his tone even drier than before, before she asked about pups. "As a matter of fact..."

But it would seem he would never get to finish a sentence, because she suddenly pointed out a pup alone. Loki followed her gesture, half expecting to see Aksel or Hel getting into trouble, but no... It was Arnporr, one of the pups Thor had just had to bring back from the family pack. "Oh, what is it now?" he growled in the general direction of the sky. Vili's kids were both already gathered around the pup... they could handle it. He and Thor and Hati had already been leading raids into enemy territory at their age, if they couldn't handle it there was a problem. Well... Ullr was Ullr...

And to make the chaos even worse (and to be sure, Loki lived for causing chaos, he just didn't so much care for chaos overtaking him) the bloodied, torn form of his younger half-brother Freyr came into view, and Loki snarled out a word best left unwritten. You know, for tender young eyes.

Loki rolled his eyes at Freyr's theatrics, growling and threatening and carrying on as though they were going to hurt Akemi... as though Akemi would let herself get hurt. He could see that going over so well with Hati if Freyr followed Akemi home like a lost pup. Heh, he'd pay to see that, actually. From a distance. But then Freyr brought up Hodr, and Loki bristled. "Yes, Freyr, he is dead. Dead and gone, and if you bring that up in front of Baldur, Weth or Tyr I swear I will skin you. They don't need you blatting it about - it's hard enough knowing, it'll be worse having that news dumped on you like a rotting buffalo carcass."

Harsh criticism, coming from Loki, but he'd been dealing with the fallout from it already between crazy-Baldur and traumatized kids. Hells, Eostre had seen it happen. How was a pup supposed to deal with the memory of watching their father and uncle rip apart their older brother? The family was screwed up enough without adding to it.

Changing the subject rather abruptly, he continued to speak. "The pups are mine. Well, not all of them - I've got four of my own. Baldur and Thor went back to the good old home pack and picked up three more after they heard about Hodr dying, plus Vili's older rugrats over there." He gestured with his muzzle toward Dyani and Ullr. "Arnporr over there and her sisters are our dear old mother's brats with Vili. She's probably just got a stomach ache because she's not used to actually eating because, surprise surprise, Mother-dear and Uncle Vili don't take care of their kids. You know, like feeding them." He didn't bother mentioning Arnporr's claim that they were Hroovitnir's whelps... or that she was, or whatever it was that she thought... how likely was that, anyway? Their mother would have been pregnant for ages. Much more likely that she'd started screwing Vili almost as soon as Hati took care of the problem of her husband. He shook his head wryly. "It has been a very interesting couple of months. Amazing what you miss when you hang around with Hati Hel-hound instead of living a normal life like the rest of us." Well, what qualified as normal for their family anyway.

She hadn?t meant anything by her words to Loki, however it was no secret that the others didn?t have an easy time hanging around Hati like she did. It was a shame, really, that they all didn?t get along. She would give a soft sigh, gaze flicking in the direction of the two pups, before another arrival caught her attention.

The girl?s red eyes would light up when she saw Freyr. Even if he was injured, the girl was glad to see yet another of her brothers here safely. She would gently press into him, giving a nod. ?I?ve missed you as well, Freyr. I?m glad that you?re okay.? The femme?s happiness however would drop, however, when the male mentioned Hodr. He was... Dead? The girl would lower her gaze, giving a small shudder. So... So she had lost one of them. One of the brothers that she looked up to so much.

Akemi?s attention shifted back to Loki. So he was a father... And the rest of the younger wolves belonged to their uncle. At the end of his words Akemi would feel herself bristle some, shooting him a look. ?For the record, Loki? I?ve only been with Hati for the better part of this last month. Since then I?ve been alone... I met up with Tyr... But he didn?t want to stick with me... And I ended up joining first one pack then another.? The femme shook her head.

?I even had to fight Hati for the entrance into the second pack... And have barely got to spend any time with him, though I?ve earned myself the rank of the lead hunter.? The girl lifted her head, looking at him. ?Perhaps its better if we don?t assume, yeah? I didn?t come here to make trouble and start fights, as surprising as they may be. I?ve actually wanted to see some of my family members.? She would give a gentle look at Freyr. ?You?ll need to get yourself treated...? She would add to him.

The loud vocals of her brother came to meet her audits, and her dark cranium would rear up to locate the male. She saw him bounding up with all the joy in his eyes that she had missed, and it would coax a small smile from her. Just the barest trace of a curve to her dark lips, but there nonetheless. He was getting better, but she still worried that maybe he wasn't completely sound of mind. She would make him whole again, if it took her last breath. That was all she was here to do, take care of her brother. As soon as he was okay again, and healthy, they could go home. It would be easier for her to take care of him there, because she knew it was safer than this unknown territory. However, she was becoming suspicious that maybe her brother did not want to leave. He seemed so happy here, maybe- just maybe, staying might be okay? Just until he realized that home was better.

She watched him approach the unknown female, and her hackles would rise once more, steel cords of muscle bunching in preparation to leap to his rescue like always. As Ullr approached, the silent femme would reach out her muzzle to nuzzle her brother's neck. A reflexive gesture, a reassuring one. Reassuring both her and her brother, though she would never admit that she would do it even if he didn't need her reassurance. One day he wouldn't need her, but that day wasn't today.

When Ullr repeated her own query to Arnporr, an ice blue gaze returned to the dark form in the snow. She did look rather ill, but what was ailing her? Ullr mentioned that her belly carried an odd scent, so maybe she had eaten something strange? The tri toned woman didn't exactly monitor the activities of everyone constantly, so it was a definite possibility. The muted vocals behind them suddenly changed, a new set accompanying a familiar scent. Powerful crown would rise, muzzle pointing over her broad shoulder to set an ice blue gaze upon the visage of a male she recognized. He'd only recently left, a little while after them, most likely. A dismissive snort was the only thing offered by the she wolf, before her attention was returned to the sickened little one. She definitely wasn't doing well, maybe she should try and catch Loki's attention? If Arnporr didn't respond soon, yes, then she would see if Loki knew something she didn't. Dyani wasn't exactly a mind reader, unless the mind was Ullr's. He was a special case, she knew him well enough he didn't need to speak.

ooc: i'm in too many thread pulling Ullr out sorry guys

Ullr was only half paying attention as more wolves arrived. His fur felt tingly, static?y as it stood on end. He knew this feeling. The Rath? it was watching him again no, no, no. Ullr held his breath. Maybe it wouldn't notice him if he wasn't breathing, yup he was dead! No living Ullr here. "I uh? I have? to go? do something." With a yelpt he turned tail and ran for the hills. "BEWARE THE GRECKLES"
