She had been out in search of herbs that could not be found in the north. As a Curi vying for the role of Cura in the new found Regium, she knew that she had to go above and beyond what she did on a daily basis. She needed to be always supplied and stocked up. She needed to be able to prove that she was worthy of the title and she would do just that. She was searching the prairie for any sort of herbs that could be used for a medicinal purpose. She would sniff around when she caught a faint scent on the wind. Was someone else around?

The male whose name was not yet known continued to travel around the Southern region of Ala. His heart was slowly opening up to Song -- bit by bit -- and he was silently afraid of what would happen if she fully attained it. The idea of having someone enter his personal bubble and love again was enough to make him skittish. Yes, the large brute whose pelt was extraordinary and eyes like the glaciers of the North had a skittish side. Who would possibly believe such a thing?!
His paws, large and outlined in silver, pressed against the unfamiliar ground beneath them as he walked. They left imprints about two inches deep, making it obvious for anyone to stalk him to know his whereabouts. Garth was lost in thought that he wouldn't have cared if someone did. Instead of someone finding him, however, he came across an unfamiliar scent first. Ears perked and thoughts were pushed to the side, causing them to swirl in a small tornado in the corner of his mind. Curiosity peeked its head and he saw a young female walk across the prairie. Tilting his head to the side, he gave a welcoming bark, hoping that she would reply.

Moments after she caught the scent she heard a welcoming bark coming from the direction of her back. She turned with a soft smile to come face to face with a large, dark man. She gave a soft welcome bark back as she turned her rusty reddish brown form to face him. She had a kind look in her eyes and she forgot about her goals for just a moment. "Hello!" He called out softly and almost shyly. She was not a creature of pride and greed. She had been once but then she realized that healing wasn't all that bad and a majority of her views changed with it. She still loved the same things and would not hesitate to fulfill anything that Roman asked of her, no matter how morally wrong, but still she was a little nicer when not participating in pack affairs.

He was unsure how to approach the female, for she was a stranger to his form. Garth usually didn't come up to others unless he needed help with something. Considering his current train of thought, however, it was probably a good thing to do. He watched the lady as she walked towards him, smile resting pleasantly on her features. A soft smile appeared on his own black lips and he tried to think of how their conversation would go. She greeted him next, giving a polite 'Hello' as her paws carried her form across the prairie grass. Slowly, he helped close the gap, large body taking its time to cross his own stretch of grass. "Hello to you, as well," he replied, tones set to a deep baritone. "I hope I didn't intrude on whatever it was you were doing..." Speech, Awesome pic by Shelby <3

He replied in a deep baritone voice and she smiled while shaking her head. "I'm not doing anything of real interest. I can afford to stop for a while." she lied like a pro as she gazed at him. He seemed a little socially awkward but she was alright with that. Her eyes held kindness in them as she spoke once more. "I'm Elli... what is your name?" She asked the man calmly. In the back of her mind, she was screaming to get back to work. Elli stayed where she was and waited though. She spared the formalities of her full name. She was relaxed as she waited for him to answer. She fell back onto her haunches as she sat down on her rear.

When she answered his question, Garth noticed a tiny bit of strain behind her reply. Garth didn't voice his observation, but merely felt his smile increase in size. She then introduced herself and he gave a gentle nod of his head. "Pleasure to meet you, Elli. I am Garth." The tall, dark, and handsome male didn't want to bother her with his long name at that moment. The mouthful was too much for a stranger to take, he assumed. His tail lightly swayed behind him as he took a couple of steps closer. He didn't want to impose on her personal bubble, so he stopped once he was a good foot away from her. "I will be honest, I came out here to clear my mind...and look for a possible cure for someone..." He hoped that she could help him; he noted the scent of bitter herbs upon her fur. Speech,

He introduced himself as Garth and she nodded in recognition of what he said. "It is real nice to meet you Garth." She said calmingly before he moved towards her and spoke again. He was looking for a cure? She could help him there! "What is the cure for? I'm a healer and I can help but I would have to know what the symptoms are." She offered her help to him because she felt like she had to. She instantly became curious and determined to figure out the cure. Perhaps it was just an instinct. Was it the cure he needed, as in the cure, the cure that went to the epidemic that occurred so little time ago.

"Likewise, Elli," he softly replied, a gentle chuckle rising from his chest as well. Glacier blue eyes watched her as her own set of opts brilliantly shined when he mentioned a cure. Silently, he began to take a few steps in her direction, but past her so they could walk in unison. Long, silvery-dipped tail swung behind him as he began to tell her the situation.
"Her symptoms aren't really anything serious, but if she doesn't take care of herself, the chances of her being sick would be horrendous." Garth didn't want to think of Song being in major peril, but then again, he hadn't been there when she had her second litter of puppies. "She was attacked by a bear a few weeks ago, creating scars that will remain on her hind legs forever. They aren't healing as fast as she would like, and being cooped up in a cave is not her idea of spending her time wisely." A soft sigh escaped his lips as he continued to slowly walk beside the woman. "She is antsy, and her scars are trying to heal, but they are being delayed, it seems. They itch and are painful whenever she moves. What can be done for such symptoms?"

When the symptoms were listened off she thought long and hard about what she could do to help. "One of the only things that crosses my mind is Lavender. It can help with the restlessness but the rest of it is just her going stir crazy which I know no cure for." She explained to the man with a small frown. She wished that she could help more but there isn't a lot that could be done. "Perhaps for the pain poppyseeds. I don't know if any grow in these parts but from where I come from poppyseeds could be used to dull pains if taken in small amounts." She suggested once more with a small smile. She hoped that she was helping.

Garthinaw stored the information she gave in his mind and packed it away for later. He nodded to confirm that he was listening and he continued to think of what else could be used. The idea that Song could be pregnant didn't cross his mind, so he didn't ask about the properties of the herbs affecting an unborn pup. Instead, he continued to walk beside Elli and ask questions. "Where would I be able to find such herbs, Elli? I am no master of plant properties and wouldn't know what they would look like if I crossed paths with them." White-outlined ears perked as he pondered her oncoming answer. "I do know that aloe does seem to help the wounds with retaining moisture so they don't dry out...but I'm not sure if it is enough." Elli listened to his question and answered without a doubt. "Both can be found within prairies like this one. While I haven't seen any poppyseeds yet, I have seen Lavender. If you'll follow me then I can show you?" She asked as they walked before she broke into a slow jog towards the northern edge of the prairie. She had seen them there and she had a small smile on her face. He seemed like a nice guy. She thought back to her mission and knew that she could stock up on lavender while she was down there. She was being productive but she was helping a friend along the way.

Elli didn't hesitate to offer help for his situation. Garth also couldn't help but smile at her generosity. He didn't hesitate to follow her as she led him in the right direction. Due to his larger size and paws, he was able to take shorter steps and longer strides to keep up with her. His massive frame bounced across the green grass, paws leaving deeper prints than usual because of his jogging. In no time, he knew they would appear and be able to find the herbs he needed. His blue eyes looked around as they got closer to the right spot. Silently, he wondered how Elli knew so much about plants, especially since there were so many in the world. Maybe she had picked up information from herbalists before her. The possibilities could be endless. Speech,

Soon she was at the northern end of the vast and mostly empty land. She grinned as she saw the verdant green stalks protruding from the ground with purple flowers on them. "You can do a lot of things with Lavender but if you have her breathe in the aroma it can calm her mind. If she consumes a little bit of it then it can help with the restlessness but you cannot give her too much because too much can cause confusion and extreme drowsiness." She told the man whom she had agreed to help in a serious tone. It was very important that he remembered everything that she was telling him about the plant if he was going to try and treat his friend.

Garth's gaze followed Elli's and before he knew it, the purple flowers came into view. Slowly, he studied them, wanting to make sure he would be able to recognize them in the future. They were beautiful to look at, but would they contain the right properties? His question was answered as Elli continued to speak, giving him the information he needed.
If he looked like he was lost in thought, he really wasn't. The black male had a keen mind and he intended to keep it that way with new pieces of information. Glacier blue eyes remained on the flowers as his voice finally broke the silence. "Soooo...the flower can be inhaled or eaten, but not too much of either because she will end up lethargic?" He raised both eyebrows and gave a small wag of his tail. "That sounds like a nice thing to do for her, especially if she is feeling really antsy. I wouldn't want to give her the wrong herb, considering she is still recovering."

Elli listened as he repeated the information back to her in question form. "That sounds like a nice thing to do for her, especially if she is feeling really antsy. I wouldn't want to give her the wrong herb, considering she is still recovering." The meaning at the end caught her attention and she gave him a small smile. "That is exactly right. So this friend... she's special to you isn't she?" She asked the man before butting in with another thing. "I don't mean to pry, you just sound a tad fond of her." She explained as she rested on her haunches.

If he had been a pup, Garth would have been proud of getting the correct answer. He would have wanted a piece of caribou and a nap shortly after eating his prize. However, he refrained from such actions and gave into his part of the conversation. "Yes, I guess you could say she is.." His blue eyes gave a lighter shine as he continued. "There was an accident and her injuries resulted from that bad time. They aren't as bad as before, though. The bleeding has stopped and there hasn't been any sign of infection for the past few weeks. I've been there since the accident happened..." He gave a wry smile and blinked softly as he also gave a soft sigh. "I guess you can say I want her to get better soon...It was all bad timing, really." Speech, Awesome pic by Shelby <3

He opened up the story to her and she gave a soft smile. It was somewhat tragic that things happened at the wrong time but there was no time to dwell on it. She too had demons that occurred at the wrong times, but sometimes they were worth the wait. "Just remember that brute and a fae can be just friends, but at one point or another, they will fall for each other... maybe temporarily, maybe at the wrong time, maybe too late, or maybe forever. If it is bad timing, then sometimes it is worth the wait." She tried her best to aid him through conversation as she picked some of the lavender stalks and set them at her paws.

His wry smile turned to a shy one as her words fell over his ears. Garth and Song...only friends? Ohhh, if only Elli knew about the passionate night he had shared with the white fae. It was probably against all kinds of rules in the healer's handbook, but at the time, everything had been right. Nothing had interrupted them and both wolves had been satisfied. Garth's tail gave a light wag, but it ceased as he replied. "It's hard to detect when the right time comes along, to be honest. Right now, I know she is a wonderful woman, someone who deserves the best...She's still recovering, but I bet when she is at her fullest health, she is able to shine like the sun." Garth spoke like he was a poet, when in reality, he didn't have a clue. A large shrug was given with his massive shoulders and he looked over to her. "What about you, Elli? Do you have someone special?" Speech,

She listened intently to what he had to say. "What about you, Elli? Do you have someone special?" Oh no, that was a question she hated answering. She started off with a fast denial. "Oh no no. Love and I have never really been eye and eye before. Some people are meant to just never find love." She said fast as she looked at her paws. She was embarrassed. She started to divide up one of the stalks into a proportionate amount. "This is how much lavender should be ingested but a little less if she is a smaller wolf or a little more if she is larger then about my size." She told the man as she pushed forward about three leaves from the stalk.

He realized that he had struck a cord with Elli. The evidence was plain as day: her denying it all, changing the subject, and moving onto the lavender. His smile became an embarrassed one and slowly faded as he watched her work. Concentration rose again and he didn't want to appear goofy as she told him what all there was to do.
"She is a smaller wolf, so I think she won't need too much," he said, eyes roving over the leaves that were placed in front of him. Large paws moved to scoop them up into a gentle pile, making sure they remained intact and neat. "I hope that they will help her, especially since her injuries were kind of...big."
