Run. That was the only thought in her mind as she travelled through the storm. No longer though were her fears of floods, falling trees or ferocious winds all she cared about was getting away.

She had found herself separated from Valerius and Taddeo as they had crossed into the path of the storm. They had been attempting to find Cecily, Valerius had apparently gotten some idea as to where the girl might be though before they'd gotten the chance to check, the awful weather had started. Seeking some sort of safe shelter she had found a calmer area, though upon swiftly realising she had reached the crypt, Emer knew there was no way that place could be called a haven. It was highly unlikely she would run into that dark male again, but those memories still haunting her and heat once more upon her the woman had fled without further thought.

She had barely stopped running since now exhausted however, calming from the torturous recollections that filled her with such fear she would find herself collapsing. The weather was still dreadful but she was away from the crypt, out from the dangers of the Saratoga woods and could run no more. She would press herself against the rock, trying to use it as some sort of barrier for the wind and rain and rest. It was far from content however, now that sinking feeling of loss was kicking in again, she was alone and lost. What on earth could she do now?

Cecily found herself in the Singing caverns along with the rest of Abaven, It had been a mad dash arriving here and the timid nature she displayed these days had found the excitement of it all exhausting. She curled up near the exit of the cave where she could see and hear the drumming of the never ending rains. She wasn't sure she liked the crowded cave that now housed all of Abaven, with the scent of wet fur and the constant murmurings that came when a group was together. She tried to find some peace and rose, drifting outwards slightly pressed towards the stonEs just outside the cave to avoid the weather that stirred the air around her.

It would be here that she would once more catch the scent of wet fur, rich and familiar despite the heavy wetness that clung to it. Her head would lift in surprise, uncertainty in her eyes as she searched for the familiar form that should accompany that smell. She could see nothing further out, the rains where too heavy to see through, but ass she angled her head toward the wall that roamed around the outside of the cavern... there, she would see her. She was astounded and old feelings stirred in her belly as she blinked once, twice, then tore off in the direction, not caring for the rain about her, nor the cold, nor nothing in the world but that one form. ?Mumma! Mumma!? she cried, not caring that she was as big as Emer these days, not caring she wasn't a little pup that could curl her way through Emers paws, she would stop just shy of her mothers form, pairing at her as through expecting an illusion.

To be entirely honest Emer did not expect any miracle happening any time soon the poor woman didn't seem to have much luck since she had left her family. Things would appear to be running smoothly for some time and then suddenly something would come in to ruin it all. Now the problem was rather clear and given the recent failures in life she didn't think things would improve.

Of course she would be mistaken, the scent of another would gradually reach her nose. A sinking feeling would hit her, thinking at first it was simply some stranger she was expecting the worst. Amidst the mingled scents of a pack and dampness there was an unmistakeably familiar scent, and yet Emer was still rather doubtful. Was she simply imagining it?

Golden eyes would lift and there was her darkened miniature, except she wasn't quite so miniature even more. Even from her position on the ground she could see that Cecily had grown a lot, she was at least Emer's height now, not the far smaller girl that had been lost during the pack challenge. Her breath would catch, hardly able to believe her eyes but she was there, calling her name and moving closer. "Cecily..." She would breathe. Was the world really being kind to her for a while?

The woman would look up at her and Cecily would see the surprise in her face, by this point Cecilys own expression spoke of delight and joy as she hovered a few steps from Emer, waiting for the recognise to settle on Emer's face. When the lighter shaded woman spoke and uttered her naem Cecily broke through her own barriors and threw herself forward, towards the woman before her until she could wrap a paw about her side and bury her face into that familiar coat. There had been nights where she had been able to bury herself into Emer's coat and know that so long as her mother was there everything would be alright. She had been sick once, back in Valhalla and Emer's steady presence had promised her that everything would be alright. Breathing heavily and her heart hammering she felt the fullness of her mother, the firm coat beneath her and knew she was not imaging things. Ever since Valhalla's fall and losing her family she had felt lost and broken, knowing her mother was here now.. it went a long way to soothing the younger girls soul.

?Mother, I missed you? she whispered, surprised at how choked her own voice sounded. She sounded raw, could taste the emotion of relief and surprise in her mouth as she held Emer close and wished to never be parted from her again. ?Taddeo.. Signy?? she asked hesitantly, half afraid to ask but needing to know the fate of her siblings.

Life was still far from perfect of course, they were still stuck in a storm and still parted from the rest of the family but there was nothing but pure relief at seeing her daughter once more. She would push herself up to a sitting position, suddenly finding some more strength within her as she nuzzled Cecily in return, the emotion swelling within her. There had been times she feared she would never see her again now there was hope once more. She had found Cecily, perhaps she would find Signy and reunite once more with Taddeo and Valerius too.

"I missed you too." Emer responded softly. There was so much she could and should ask but words weren't forming too easily either at the moment, shock and joy still taking over. She would grow slightly disheartened though as Cecily spoke once more, knowing she now had to deliver bad news to her daughter. "I don't know." She responded. She had hoped perhaps the girls were together the whole time though it seemed that truly was not the case. "Signy went missing at the same sort of time you did and I've gotten lost Taddeo and Valerius in the storm." Perhaps there was still hope for those two, maybe they had found some shelter together and would be safe and reunite with them soon.

She had felt so much like a lost little girl without her mother, and she could scarcely believe that that might be over now. She had grown up in such a peaceful home, filled with the love of all her family and for a while that had been all she had none. When Valhalla had fallen.. well, she hadn't liked where her life had gone and how she felt now. She drew herself closer into her mothers side, wanting Emer to be able to push away all that had happened since they saw each-other last, to make things right again. The girl had started to tremble, and forced herself to stand still, to push it away as her mother spoke. She would admit she did not know where the others where, but Cecily didn't tremble again at this news, instead she stood straighter and looked at Emer. ?That's ok, we'll wait for the storm to be over, and then well find them again? she said confidently, sure that they could bring the family back together again, that they could make everything right now that Emer was here with her again.

Emer simply wished she could make all of the pain vanish for her children, all she had ever wished to do was protect them from any sort of trauma and hurt. She had very clearly failed in that aim, though when she couldn't even look after herself it was only to be expected. She had only made it this far thanks to Jinxx dragging her back to Valhalla, Erani's kindness and care and most importantly Valerius for everything he had done. How on earth would she find Signy and Taddeo without him?

Cecily as usual had far more optimism than Emer did. It was a wonder how her nerves and negative energy had never rubbed off on her children, perhaps they had Valerius to thank for that. She would only nuzzle her daughter once more, she couldn't respond with words, unable to bring herself to lie. It was by pure luck that she'd found Cecily and evidently Emer didn't have much luck to spare. She wouldn't be quite so convinced that all would work out for a while yet. Once the storm was over though, yes they could certainly try and look.

She couldn't imagine letter Emer out of her sight after what she had gone through after losing her. She had always beena family orientated wolf, had grown up happy with Emer and Val a major factor in her life. In fact she had only ever meet that Valhalla queen once and yet the loss of her pack had been the loss of the world Cecily had known. It was strange how much she had been effected by that, and she wasn't sure who or if she should resent someone over that. She sighed softly, she didn't want to ask her mother, she looked too worried. Emer never replied to her words, but she did nuzzle her daughter and little Cecily leaned into that nuzzle, even if her mother had shrunk so much in the time she had been gone. ?we can do it? she inspired, with a light grin as she leaned against her mother some more. ?We should get back in the caves where its warmer. Bass wont mind, come on? the young girl said, nudging Emer.

Emer certainly didn't wish to lose sight of her daughter either. It had been far too long since she had seen the girl and now she had her again she couldn't bear parting once more. Now she had lost all of her family at least once, she desperately longed to rebuild them, gather them all around her again and losing Cecily again would be a very poor start to that ambition.

That being said heading inside was not something that the woman wished to do at all. First panic was who this Bass was, her second was of course in regards to her heat, the last time she had sheltered in an enclosed area and ran into strangers it had resulted in Cecily, Taddeo and Signy. As much as she loved her children she did not want that happening ever again. Fear was already filling the poor woman even at the mere idea of enclosing herself somewhere.

She would shake her head, initially unaware of the action but still she clearly did not wish for that. She was tired, she needed rest but no, not in there. "No. No, I can't." She had always tried to keep such fears away from her children, but there had been a number of times now that nightmares her reduced her to a quivering wreck in front of her son and now it seemed that the same fears would emerge before Cecily as well. Taddeo had never questioned, hopefully Cecily would not either, she couldn't bear to ever tell them the truth nor did she wish to instil such fear in her children.

She would nudge Emer and indicate they go inside, but Emer's response was unlike anything she had seen in her mother before. She would start shaking her head and Cecily couldn't quite decipher that look in her mothers eyes. The younger wolf pulled down her eyebrows in concern as she looked at her mother, she didn't understand what was wrong. ?You remember Bass, he was Valhalla, he's friendly. His whole pack is there, it would be safe and warm..? she trailed off, uncertainty lingering in her tone. ?But I can.. I can curl up next to you here and we can warm each other..? she finished softly, she wanted to help Emer, she wanted to understand what was wrong, but, she didn't want to push Emer either. She had only just gotten her mother back, she didn't want to push her away, didn't want to risk anything parting them again. This was a thought she never would have had in Valhalla, but losing them once told her how much they meant to her, how.. breakable the bond between them was, something she had always taken for granted as something permanent, untouchable.

Her daughter's lack of connection with the pack was mostly her own fault really. Emer's time was mostly spent away from the rest of the pack, she had seen some of them a few times though most were merely acquaintances, even Twig who had once been in a similar trauma to herself had never become the friend she could or should have been. It was a shame, the Black family had seemed rather nice, Jinxx after all had been the one to save her and bring her to Valhalla.

Emer didn't really remember Bass too well though, he was yet another of these nameless members from the former pack. It would fill her with a slight more confidence if Erani had trusted the male enough to let him join, at least she no longer worried that her daughter had been with him and his pack but still she could not go inside, not in her current state. Perhaps if Valerius had been here, there to protect her but she had no idea where the man was now unfortunately, a fact that pained her further.

The next suggestion however certainly sounded better to the Autumnal coloured woman and she would give a slight shaky nod of her head, no words spoken as she attempted to control her breathing once more.

Emer was still saying nothing, and Cecily couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. Had someone from Abaven scared her? Did she not trust that pack? Or maybe she blamed them for Cecily's disappearance. She clenched her jaw, thinking and worrying as she curled herself about her mother, on the outside of her mother, hugging her protectively and possessively. ?Its ok Mumma, I wont leave you again, nothing can take me from you.? she promised softly as she gave the closest cheek to her a quick kiss. "I went to them because I knew them and no one else, they didn't ask me to" she would tell her next as she listened to the weather, It was still windy and stormy but the outside cave wall blocked most of it from the small family that huddled by its edge.

She wished Emer would tell her what was wrong, but she still couldn't bring herself to ask. Instead she took on the role of protective family member as she cuddled Emer and decided she would never let anything frighten the woman again, even if that meant never leaving her side again.

It was very unlikely to be anyone in Abaven that had caused this fear in the woman. Through the children she had managed to improve somewhat but now in heat and alone again she was once more terrified and capable of treading dangerously close to that wreck of a wolf that had been discovered and brought back to Valhalla to become Emer Lasair once more. That worry wasn't going to leave her any time soon it seemed, Cecily would have to get used to it though Emer still couldn't bring herself to explain even as her daughter began to speak. Her gentle tones would calm her slightly, the comfort of her daughter's touch once more making her mind try recall those happier moments and it was working as long as she stayed safe in the open. Not that it would have done her much good at the moment anyway, exhausted she had no hope of running away even if someone attempted to attack her. Such thoughts were not in her mind however as she continued to simply focus herself upon Cecily, nuzzling her softly in a form of thanks and comfort perhaps more for herself than Cecily however.

She would stay beside her mother, curled about her as an iron resolve made its way into her thoughts. She needed to learn how to fight, not something she had ever really worried about before but one that seemed so important in the moment. She wanted to have the strengths and abilities to protect her mother, to ensure nothing scared her again, to help give her mother the courage to face whatever it was that made her act like this. She decided that in the moment and knew she would do all she could to ensure that it was so. ?everything will be alright? she soothed softly to her finally found mother and let her eyelids droop closed. She would figure it out in the morning, right now she couldn't imagine anything better then being curled up by her mother, just as she once had as a pup.

To be honest Emer would be horrified to know what thoughts currently plagued her daughter's mind. It was the job of a parent to care for their children, not the other way around, never should Cecily have felt that she had to develop a certain skill or take a different path purely to keep her mother safe, it should have been the other way around. The autumnal hued woman was clearly a mess though she needed someone to care for her right now and unfortunately once more it was only one of her children that would be able to take the role. How on earth had she ended up with such wonderful children? How had they never come close the quivering wreck their mother could be?

Such things would be freed from her mind now though, her daughter's soothing tones and closeness would indeed work wonders for Emer. Eventually golden eyes could take it no longer and would cease their staring into the distance to gradually grow heavier and close. Cecily's promise that all would be alright would be the last thing she would hear as sleep beckoned her and so exhausted and comforted by finding Cecily, it would be the first night in a while that nightmares wouldn't haunt her.
