sanctuary?

He was loathe to leave his family for long, but even Castiel had to admit that he couldn't spend every waking moment watching Surreal. He adored his crimson nephew and his more muted nieces but every once in a while, the titan needed space from his family. He was a little anxious around the pups; he had never had much contact with youngsters, and had left his siblings at a fairly young age, meaning that he didn't have any experience with pups. Nova had raised a warrior when he took his son from his family, but Nova had not raised a father, and Castiel's paternal instincts were fairly lacking, to say the least. It wasn't for a lack of trying, but for the life of him, Castiel simply couldn't fathom what the pups needed when they cried out. Surreal and Falk seemed to know instinctively, but Castiel didn't have the faintest clue if they were injured or just hungry or simply missing the comfort of their mother.
Castiel wasn't going to learn anything else out here, that much was for sure, but at least he could gather his thoughts. The white wolf lay sprawled within an empty room of this strange structure, limbs loose and his head resting easily on the stony ground. There was something to be said about the peace and quiet of these empty areas - no other wolf had touched these grounds in some time. And he would be back to his family soon enough. Castiel knew that he would not be able to stand leaving them for long. Falk could surely protect Surreal and her children, but Castiel would never forgive himself if something happened while he was away.
Exhaling softly, the white titan nosed absently at the ground. There was something peaceful about this empty place; it was all hollow and strange but it was comforting all the same. Castiel could imagine coming to enjoy it here - and perhaps, when the time came, Surreal could claim lands near this place. Castiel certainly wouldn't mind that. He would like to be able to visit this strange structure more often.

Diplo - Revolution
This was a strange place. It was an old human structure. And not the first that Tessi would walk among. Call it something of a fascination, but she liked walking among the Ruins. All the shadows there for her to hide in. All the different things scattered about that cast long shadows over the bigger picture and cluttered the spaces inside the walls of the grand scheme. It was like the confines of the mind. A mind was a powerful thing. And there was nothing to be feared more than what laid inside one's mind. All your demons. All your fears. The truths of everything that made you the frail creature you where laid out in one location that all the effort in the world couldn't spare you from.
But Tessi embraced her demons. She had to to be a survivor. Those demons had kept her alive for some time. So silently, she moved along the hall. A ghost on light paws. Unseen and unheard. this place was old and stale. No wolves had walked here in some time, if ever. Eventually, she made her way to a door that lead to another hall, and raising to her hind paws, she pushed it open. It came open easier than she'd expected and flung against the wall with a loud crash. The sudden movement knocking a vase from a near by table that smashed against the floor. Quickly, her ears folded back to shield against the noise, a grimace forming on her face. Such a mistake was not one she could afford to make often and she knew it. Swearing under her breath, she began to move down the hall again. Thoughts of another night and a woman with a star painted face on her mind.

maybe i'm too busy being yours to fall for somebody new,
The titan was distracted by the sounds of another in these empty halls. They were less empty than he had assumed, it seemed, and the not so distant crashing and banging implied that the other wasn't particularly afraid. Curiosity flickered in Castiel's steady eyes and he rose smoothly to his large paws, pinning his ears back for a second as he scented the air curiously. It didn't take him long to detect the foreign scent and with that he was on the move, black muzzle pressed against the cool ground.
The gray and white figure appeared as if from nowhere, almost blending in with the stone. Castiel came to a stop, examining the comparatively tiny female with a twitch of his ears. "You should probably be more careful," His words, though possibly condescending, were intended simply as a warning. Castiel was more protective now than ever of those that he deemed smaller than himself now that his sister's pups had been born. "There could be less than pleasant wolves in the area." The titan added thoughtfully, frowning a little at the thought. He wasn't sure he wanted to feel responsible for the wellbeing of this stranger, but she reminded him of his sister in a way and Castiel didn't trust the world very much in that moment.
He was a little bit on edge, to say the least. When Castiel became a father of his own children, he could only imagine how much worse this would be. He didn't trust anything in these moments; anything and everything could be a threat. Castiel had watched his father die and he was never going to let that happen again. He would protect every wolf in the world if he had to.
