The day of clean up had left Motif tired, but exhilarated from the work out and the effect of seeing a cleaner Abaven. Of course, it would take a long time to set things right and she would be meeting her group again in the morning for another day of hard work, but they where getting there and Abaven was starting to look like the familiar land they had loved. She couldn't just go to her den and sleep however, for one her den had been on lower ground and she was still waiting for the swollen banks to ease before she could access it again. Also, she needed to see Bass after what she had learned about him today. She was hurt that she had learned of his mate from his mate and not from Bass himself. They had always been close, she had done everything to look out for him and this pack and work for these wolves... why had he kept this from her?

Her emotions where crossed, annoyance warring with the exuberance that was yet to fade when she made her way to Bass's den ? his home was fine, he had wisely picked higher ground to make his den and it hadn't been badly effected from the storm. She stood outside his familiar grounds, sniffing at the scent of him and what she could not now identify as Wren's mingled in amongst it. She sighed, and raised a paw to scratch at his entry, announcing that she was there ? she hoped he was home.

Bass laid curled up in his den, still covered in mud. He had been digging around the rapids, trying to widen the coarse a bit so that it was not so raised. And then he had dug little irrigation ditches around the lake, hoping that any further rain water would draw right into it without really flooding the lands again. He was very tired, and just about to fall asleep when there was a scratch at his door. Letting out a soft groan he slowly lifted his head, blinking his tired eyes towards the entrance. By scent he could tell that it was Motif, and he let out a bark to tell her to come in. He was far too tired to go moving about, his paws a bit bloody from where he had slipped. It was a messy job, but it was all worth it for Abaven. He would quickly lay down his own life to make his pack safe, something that probably drove his sisters mental. "Are you coming in or what?" He called out, his vocals teasing, but coated with the exhaustion that he felt. Motif was probably no different, she had taken a group to start clean up elsewhere. There was still a lot that needed to be done, but he would rather piece it together slowly than to burn out all of Abaven.

Bass's voice would call out, summoning her into his den and she would smile, shake her head fondly at the words as she took those steps and brought herself into his home. He was one of the lucky few to have his den undamaged by the weather, her's was toast from flooding and she hadn't bothered to scout out another den for herself yet. She heard the exhaustion in her brothers tone and she simply crept into his den, found his form lying on its earth and positioned herself behind him. She curled up against his back, she didn't care about the mud that splattered his coat, only the warmth his presence and body offered her. She sighed, happy at his presence, but not content yet ? she did after all have a bone to pick with her boy, even if she was very happy to be beside him.
?So Bass.. guess who I met today? she murmured softly into his back.
