Legend had been standing on the beaches of Threar. He didn't really stay here, he didn't have a den. It wasn't truly his pack but his family. It was what he was after all along wasn't it?
He would sit at the water's edge, staring out at the horizon though the sun was set high at noon or later. The skies were not as beautiful as could be, but the gentle waves of the beach that had most likely been under water not too long ago were soothing to him.
Taking easy breaths, he would close his eyes and truly see how happy he was even though he didn't have his other brothers by his side. He was ready to settle, to take a break, he was home.
Finally he would let out a gentle, quiet howl for his sister. He would wait if she were busy, but he hoped she wouldn't be long.
The Destruction family certainly had proven themselves to be quite the close and loyal bunch at times. Novella was one who definitely shared this trait with Legend, a desire to be around family and keep them together. There was no denying she was enjoying having one of her brothers around again. For that reason there was little that could really have delayed her from answering his call, perhaps her mate, children or another problem with her family but there was no such distraction there at the moment and it wouldn't be long before she would appear before the chocolate coloured male. "Hello Legend." She would greet him with a nuzzle before she settled herself down. "Is everything ok?"
His sister was not far from a late return. He would lean into her touch and let her finish off her question. A quick reply though, stern in his voice as he answered with his normal expression, a gentle smile to his face.
"Yes Novella, everything is perfect."
He saw no positives coming from his old goal; if his brother's were here, he would see them when the time was right. But really, it was down to business. He obviously called his sister here for a reason other than to sit by her and watch to bay freeze.
"What would you say I could do here, if I decide stay?"
He had a choice between Sawtooth and Threar, well that was if either wanted him. He really wanted to be with his parents, he hoped Novella wanted him as well. If all can to worse, he would just live on the outside like he had done all this time.
In Novella's honest opinion perfect was perhaps a little generous of a word. Their parents weren't too well right now neither was Frith and caught up in settling back into their home the pack had been rather quiet as of late. They were family though, and on second thoughts, putting herself in her brother's place, reuniting with family after such time alone was certainly a pleasing image no matter what the condition of it. No, perfect was in fact quite the apt word and Legend's reaction would bring a soft smile to her own features as she continued to listen to her brother speak.
His question, though leading to a topic she had hoped for in some way or another would still take the young Author by a bit of surprise. What could he do here? Honestly she wasn't entirely certain, there was surely something that could be found to occupy his time but what she hadn't really thought about. The only picture within her mind had simply been trying to get her family back together, whether they were in Threar, Sawtooth or even Abaven.
"I'm certain we could find something for you." She responded, it was a simple answer but certainly the truth. She would always try her hardest to make sure there was some place for her family around her after all. "What would you want to do?" That was perhaps the main thing that needed to be worked out.
Thankful for her agreement on letting him stay, he would relax his face and give her a loving eye. How could she say no to him, he thought jokingly. He was glad to be someplace called home again.
He knew that his parents and Frith had gone down with something, sure was dreadful. But he would do anything in his power to help them, including his sister's husband. But going into healing or even hunting didn't feel so much... him. He had chose what he wanted to do before even thinking of really "staying" anywhere. He had gone to visit Felicien on the battlefield to spar with another wolf. He was glad to see someone taking in interest in self defense like he had, whether it be provided to stay in the pack or it was a real thing.
"If I could, I'd like to take part in training the youngyuns in self defense."
Of course he didn't expect to be placed on top a pedestal the moment he got here, and climbing up ranks wasn't too hard and also pretty fun if he recalled. He'd rather others know him of working hard rather than being a lazy ass who just happened to be in the family.
"Though I'm a little rusty, might want to get some practice in first." He would give a fading chuckle at the end of his request.
It may have been a somewhat cheeky thought though it of course wasn't wrong either. Novella had never really found herself annoyed enough by any of her family over the years to ever consider turning them away if she had to. Even during Howl's stage of petty arguments with refusal to forgive Song or their parents she had never once wished him to leave and now she still longed for his return as she had hoped for Legend's.
Any sort of training was most definitely welcomed for the children of the pack, truth be told she was worried about teaching any such specific skills to them, still doubting herself qualified enough for such tasks. Frith she was certain would teach them self defence in a far better manner than she could and Symphony, when not quite so busy was currently the first choice in Threar for the healing. Sawtooth and Abaven could and hopefully would help with the lessons as well, but for now everything had ground to a halt.
He was willing to start off lower though it seemed, work his way fairly up the ranks rather than earn the position of Action simply because he was her brother. A rather honourable trait, a fact that she wished she could share with the rest of the pack though none seemed so greedy in their aims to progress, all fairly putting in the effort to improve themselves to raise their rank. It honestly made her feel quite the hypocrite as well, everyone else had put so much faith into her to lead, faith she still wasn't entirely certain that she shared.
"Perhaps a Chapter for now then? Lessons will hopefully pick up again soon and you can help yourself and others then." She informed him with a smile. Truth be told she probably would have been biased and granted him the rank if he truly desired it, humble in her own skills she would put her faith in others somewhat easily, at least when concerning her family anyway.
He would be pleased with what her response was. Chapter seemed pretty fitting, not too high up but not the bottom of the food chain. Of course there was one rank under that wasn't reserved for the ill, the elder, and the pups. But that would be just where he wanted to start.
"Chapter sounds fine to me."
He spoke calm with a smile, turning his eyes away after a moment to look out at the bay. He would think of his parents and brother in law, hoping they were doing better even than expected. But keeping an eye out to the water, he would let his sister be dismissed.
"I'm sure Frith would like to see you as much you'd like to see him right now." Love must have been weird, Legend wouldn't hold a promise to himself for a while. If something came along, it was what it was. "We can talk more later if you'd like."
Legend would accept the title and with it a place within Threar. The response and realisation brought a smile to the white Destruction's muzzle "Well then, welcome home brother." She remarked simply and warmly. Perhaps it hadn't always been destined to be home though it was certainly home now for him, and he always would have been welcomed regardless of if he joined or not. All family was welcomed in fact encouraged to visit.
A pause in conversation as the siblings settled themselves Legend would then mention Frith. Indeed Novella tried to visit her mate as much as she could, hoped to see an improvement in his condition and that before too long he'd be back on his feet and active within the pack once more. It meant that as Legend guessed she was sort of being kept from his side now, though truth be told she was certain that her husband would have understood, he was after all a part of this family too.
Perhaps love was weird. Novella had observed the joys and even pains it brought from watching her elder sisters never longing for or anticipating that she would feel such things herself one day. Then Frith had walked in and all of that had changed. She of course still had time for her family however and as Legend offered to talk more later she would simply nod her head in response. "Anytime, Legend." She responded nuzzling him once more before leaving him in peace to watch the bay.
