while winter was very nearly upon the realm, it had yet to reach this particular piece of it. Bryn sat in the shadow of a tree, grimacing as a cold wind blustered about her. It served well enough as a wind block, considering it's gargantuan size, but still. Winter was a hassle, and dreary for all that she enjoyed a good challenge. I ought to find a better den site, a permanent one, until the season wanes, she mused. In the end she only sighed, and hunched her shoulders against the chill. At the very least the forest was impressive to look at, though she was somewhat concerned. The canopy was swaying in the wind, and the size of the trees which bore them was nothing to scoff at. If one were to fall... well... Best not to think about that. She would prefer to stay out of the weather if at all possible but she was bored with just sitting there. She scuffed her paw and looked about for something that might occupy her.

The winds were picking up as Xytri roamed through the thick, harsh forest. Branches flicked across his nearly frozen snout inflicting an irritating amount pain. His paws were slightly damp due to the saturated leaves that littered the forest floor. The lone wolf continued his path to nowhere in search of his next meal, which he hoped would be his favorite meat, Salmon. He wandered near the nearly frozen stream not expecting any luck. The winds were nearly unbearable and it was time to give up on the search and find a place to hunker down before the great yellow circle in the sky hid for yet another night. Xytri tried to retrace his steps back his usual resting place but was unable to form any memory of where that might be. He continued his search, still completely lost, when he noticed a strange object in the distance.

A bear perhaps? Maybe a fox? Hopefully anything but a skunk. Skunks were by far the mortal nemesis of this curious canine. Mainly due to the fact that Xytri tried to befriend one that was sleeping in its den and was instantly sprayed by that smelly liquid he was so familiar with. He refocused his thoughts back on to the blurred lump generously close to the tree in the distance. He hunched his body down leaving his butt swaying up in the air, his tail flickering in the harsh wind. He ever so slowly crawled forward to get a better look at the object that spiked his curiosity. He finally got within distance of making out the beast and without hesitation shouted, "WOLF!" while springing into the chilled air above.

Besides the howling wind, it was silent. Besides the bitter cold, the day was not too unpleasant. And then out of no where comes this thing, exploding into her presence with a cry. She stumbled backwards into the tree trunk, ears pinning and eyes narrowing and a startled yelp falling from her ebon lips. She whirled on the creature with a snarl, finding an exuberant white whelp awaiting her. "What the fuck is your damage?!" she would seethe. Who just ambushes someone like that?! What was he, a fucking child?! Her lips pulled back into a snarl and she let out one long breath, trying in vain to calm herself. He was far too stupid to try and attack someone after a display like that, so she convinced herself that he was probably just a moron and not worth her anxiety.

She shook her head slowly, eyes molten pools of angry gold, trying to find words potent enough to express her extreme distaste. She was tempted to knock him around, teach him a lesson, but she was no monster. It would be like beating a pup... Even if the thought of taking him by the scruff and throwing him bodily into the tree trunk behind her was satisfying. The wind grew in intensity for a moment and Brynhildr rolled her shoulders against the elemental offense. "What the hell do you want?" she seethed at last, ready to make for the hills.
