HERNE DESTRUCTION

i will call your name, i will share your road

He had never been inclined to wander far from home; Threar had all he really needed, didn't it? His siblings were there and his parents, and assorted extended family members inhabited the pack, which Herne had yet to step paw over the borders of. Aslan had already explored a little, it seemed, and had discovered Sawtooth's lands. But Herne was in no rush to follow in his brother's pawprints. For the most part, he was inclined to stay within his family's lands and exploring even that had left him occupied for the first seasons of his life.

However, Herne could not deny that he was growing older. He was no longer the tiny, frail youngster that he had once been. His legs had muscles on them, and they could carry him far further than they ever had before. Herne had discovered that the further he walked, the stronger he became, and even if it was hard at the time, he was determined to press onwards. As long as he was growing stronger, he wasn't in any particular hurry, but as his paws carried him along, Herne felt a bit of curiosity stirring in his veins.

He wanted to see what the world beyond these lands. It was likely that Herne would only venture past Threar territory only once before settling back down for a while; he knew himself well enough to know and accept that. Wanderlust had never been a defining feature of this young boy, and even as he began to approach the age where wolves began to leave their families, he was content to stay put for the vast majority of the time. But he was growing older and stronger, and Herne thought that perhaps it was time for him to venture past his family's borders and explore the world beyond Threar's lands.

That was what had drawn him out, and once Herne had started wandering, he found it all but impossible to stop. The world was vast and interesting, and almost against his will, Herne found himself pretty far from home. He flopped down finally at the shores of a lake, dipping small paws into the water, ears swivelling wildly as he tried to take in everything that there was to see and hear. This actually was not that different from Threar lands, but they were interesting all the same. This was the furthest he'd ever been from home. Wow.

Chione, unlike the boy she would soon meet, was pretty much a free spirit. Her parents disciplined her when necessary, and though she couldn't hold her tongue when she needed to, she couldn't help it. Charon always put things in her head and made her spit evil tongue out at others.

But recently Charon had been abusing her. She was in a deep pit of depression mixed in when some anger at that. But even though she thought of taking her own life, Charon was able to talk her out of that too. But it didn't stop her form thinking about it.

She traveled a lot lately, walking might have really stopped her. Even though it made her think of such things even more. But thinking was better than not thinking, she felt like she would have done it if she didn't give it any thought.

She spotted a boy by the lake, seeing as his paws went into the water. And she thought of how she walked up to Novaro and spoke to him. It wasn't so bad, being social. And so she would give it another go.

"...Hello."

HERNE DESTRUCTION

love is clueless and destiny is wishing ,

The voice of another was what stirred Herne from his reverie. The chocolate colored boy lifted his head, multicolored gaze focusing on the stranger, taking in her form with avid curiosity. She was interestingly patterned, far different from any he had seen in his limited experiences with the world, and as Herne pricked his ears towards her, he was struck by the fact that she might even be larger than he. At some point, this would come to be less of a surprise to the boy than it was at the moment, but he was still a little shocked at the moment. She didn't seem to be much older than he was. Huh.

Ears twitching slightly, Herne shook himself a little, offering the stranger a belated smile. "Hello!" Herne greeted her, nodding slightly. He sat for a moment in silence after he spoke, unsure of how to act around the first stranger around his age that he had ever properly met. "Uh, my name's Herne. What's yours?" It was more verbose than Herne often was, but he didn't want to seem rude. He wanted to make a good impression on this stranger.

With that, however, Herne fell silent for good this time, swishing his tail easily against the earth. He wasn't sure that he wanted to get up just yet; he was just getting his energy back from his fairly long journey and his body was still pretty tired. That probably wasn't totally normal, but eventually he'd get even stronger, and this kind of journey would be nothing, right?

The boy was so... energetic? He shook, and the way he almost shouted in greeting, Chione would pull her neck back with the flutter of her eyelashes.

"Pretty annoying, right?"

But then she would shake her head roughly, making Charon exit her head. His name was Herne; though it seemed kind of odd to her, it reminded her of her disowned brother, Hypnos, or her dead older one, Hermes. She hadn't thought about it until now, but it was kind of weird how the fate of her brother's turned out. Even Apollo was part of the traitors, she wondered what would happen to Hercules?

She only had a couple encounters with other's, Novaro being the only one outside her family. And she was able to get the expected out.

"I'm Chione Olympus."

Was it weird that she said her last name? Oh well.

"Only the name of a royal should be known around this world."

HERNE DESTRUCTION
we'll ride the coattails to the finish line ,

Nodding slightly towards the dappled pup, Herne committed the name to memory. "Nice to meet you, Chione." He tested the name out on his tongue with a twitch of his ears, offering the other an easy smile. The youngster rose carefully to his paws, ignoring the faint tremor that slid through his muscles. He was tired, but not so tired that it would justify impoliteness. And he didn't mind the company of this female so far - not that Herne really minded the company of anyone, really. He was all in all fairly content to spend his time with whoever wished to spend time with him.

Head tilting slightly, Herne sniffed the air carefully. The other wore an unfamiliar scent; it was definitely a pack one, but Herne didn't recognize it in the least. He twitched his ears again, curious gaze turning towards the other. "Are you from a pack?" Well, he was pretty sure that she was, but jumping to conclusions was not Herne's thing. Perhaps she had merely spent some time near a pack or something similar; a pack scent did not necessarily mean that the other was from a pack. Maybe her pack was friends with his! Though Herne knew little about pack politics, he did know that some packs were "friends" of his parents - and some were not. It was more simplistic than perhaps the politics truly were, but Herne was content in his black and white view of the world. The nuances would come later, with age and maturity.

Chione dipped her head slightly to his second greeting. But she would notice as he lifted his nose before asking if she remained in a pack. She had lived in a pack her whole life, except when it was overthrown and her and her family lived on Mount Volkan for a couple months or so. But she had never really met other wolves so taking eye to their scent was something she never took to. Hers had probably stayed generally the same though.

"I am a daughter of Pantheon."

She spoke stern, without any emotion. She wasn't bragging, because she knew the truth of that and so did Charon of course.

"Your parents don't know your worth though. You my come as royal, but surely you are not royal."

"But I am not... A princess."

Her voice then dragging with disappointment. She had always wanted a taste of being actually royal. She never wanted to rule a pack or take charge in anyway, but she was beyond jealous of Gaia holding her or her sibling's crowns. Of course, Alec has always known what she wanted to do and Herc had some motivation to do anything. Chione never had an idea on what she wanted to special in. Charon always put into her head that she wasn't  good at anything anyway. Herbs simply bored her. Hunting took too much work, and fighting would eventually mess up her body. She felt much better laying down in her den all day, that was if the voice in her head would ever leave her alone.
