He had gone and done it again. What was the saying, three strikes and your out? He had no doubt that he had struck out this time, although he didn't even know what to offer his cousin. He had come here with the promise to protect them all, but after the storm he had just fallen apart. The nightmares had gotten worse, his lack of sleep had driven him towards having hallucinations. He was seeing things everywhere, and suddenly his nightmares were walking in front of him. He couldn't take the burden of it all, and had fled. For the second time in his life, the mighty Fendar had run away. He sighed, coming to a stop in the middle of the Stone Steppes. Would Valeriya understand why he had gone away, or would she demand that he left the pack? He had claimed that he would be here for her, grumpy or not, and look at what happened to that. Once again he had shamed his family, and it would be no surprise to him if she would prefer him gone. He would do it to himself if Fendar was in her place. Letting out another heavy sigh the brute tipped back his head and let a call for Valeriya ring loud. Would she even come, or would he be ignored? There was much to talk about, and he wouldn't be surprised if she bit off a toe of something. Or maybe fully blinded his eye, but hey that would help a little bit more than having his bullshit half vision thing going on. Grumbling to himself he curled his auburn tail around himself, maybe to protect his toes. Maybe not...

He knew that with winter coming, Valeriya would need all the help that she could get. The prey would be getting more and more scarce, and the borders would need further protection. He was slightly shocked that he had seen no one in his journey here, but the Autumn wind did have a bite to it. The large male shivered, his multi-hued auburn coat fluffing up to keep himself a bit warmer. Perhaps he should have called her into a cave or something... it would be warmer than out here in the open. Damn winter...
