The girl opened her blue eyes, blinking softly as she adjusted to the light that was shining in the den she shared with Athena. A soft sigh blew out of her lips when she realized that she was alone -- besides the puppies -- Athena must have gone out looking for her husband again. Sadness filled her heart as it dropped to her paws, she knew that no matter how hard her love looked, he would not magically show up. The poor babies... Drawing herself to her paws, Amalia shook her coat and smiled that beaming smile of hers, dancing outside into the cold winter. She shivered slightly, but it was snowing! Letting out a laugh of pure joy, she jumped and danced in the falling flakes. Panting, she stuck her head back inside the den. "Children! Come dance in the joys of Winter with me!" she sang out, laughing once more as she danced back into the falling flakes.

No paw prints had marked up the new snow, and Amalia changed that. She jumped from pile to pile of the snow, watching as flakes that had rested on the ground jumped up to fall with the rest. She was acting much like a child herself, but where was the harm in that? There was none, none at all. She was simply enjoying the gift that life had given her, not minding the chill. She had grown used to the bitter cold in the North, and it was almost as if it bounced off her thick fur. Squealing she flopped to her side, rolling about until her red marked fur was coated in snow. The children needed to come and play with her! Before she went in there and tossed them into the snow.

The young Armada was reclined deep within the shadows of the den, his sharp red-green eyes watching his siblings every move. Since the moment he could breathe the boy seemed oddly over protective of each and every one of his siblings. Perhaps that was the cause for his silence, or perhaps he just knew in his young little mind that this is what he was made for. Like a shadow, and after thought in the scheme, an addition in the programming to defend and protect his playing siblings. To watch over them with his sharp eyes, but never stand in the way. No, he was made to blend in the shadows, forever watching, even now despite his young age. It was a maturity that almost seemed...shocking, but that wasn't all he was. While, yes, the boy was a child of the shadows, he was also a child of anger. He would oftentimes snap at those he had been created to protect. It was why he kept himself at a distance, watching to defend them, and save them from his anger. Even if, at his early age, he didn't understand this just yet.

With a soundless sigh he was just about to close his eyes, to drift off into a restless sleep, when the ref fured face of Amalia slipped back into the darkness of the den, harkening the children out into the cold and the snow. He lifted his eyes and squinted at the light that flooding in as she disappeared again, her play echoing through the depths of the den. Without a sound he lifted himself up onto his paws, shaking his thick dark fur to brush of the dust that had accumulated. He turned and stepped from the den into the brightness of the day, squinting through the brightness of the light. It came from all directions, it was nearly blinding. With a shake of his head he moved to step into the snow, but he didn't play, didn't run, didn't throw the snow around in his play. Instead he stepped towards Amalia before stopping and sitting in the snow, waiting for his siblings to come out so that he may watch them in their play. Just what he was made for, just as he was programmed.

The blue-hued boy blinked open his eyes at Momma Amalia's chipper call, her voice pulling him out of his sleep. He grumbled and rolled over onto his back, fully ready to just go back to sleep, but he saw Vitus get up and go outside. Well he couldn't just let Vit go by himself! And Ama sounded like she was having so much fun... He quickly rolled over back onto his paws and shook the dust out of his fur before bounding outside. He squinted till his eyes adjusted to the blinding sunlight, finally seeing Vitus sitting all calm, as always, and Ama bouncing around in the snow, disturbing the flat surface of the fallen snow. Tiburtus giggled and bounced toward his red-faced mom to dance through the falling snow with her. He wished Vit would join them, but he was used to his brother's silent stature by now. Even still he turned toward Vit and tossed a paw full of snow toward him with a grin, dusting him with the cold flakes.
