(Set before Cascade knew she was pregnant)

Cascade stretched, reveling in the oddly loose feeling in her joints before she bounced to her feet. All right! Ready to start the day! Woo! Mornings! Look at that sunrise! All thoughts that were just a little unusual for Cascade, or at least for her mental voice to have so much enthusiasm for them. But she was so full of energy, just absolutely jazzed and ready to go. She was sleeping more, which could be the reason, or maybe she was just eating better now that she was in a pack, as evidenced by the slight rounding of her belly. Ha! She was actually, for the first time in her life, eating enough to actually get fat. The rest of her was as slim as ever, so it wasn't too bad. Taking off at a trot, the Saxe set off to find Valen. Maybe she'd poke him awake and drag him off to do something fun. Maybe she'd bully him into doing some fight training with her or something! She was feeling pretty ambitious today, maybe it was time to start working her way up the ranks. She stopped when she found herself at the giant's den. She crouched at the entrance, peering in and trying to decide if the scent from the den was fresh enough to indicate he was still there. "Psssst! Valen! Hey! Psssst hey you! Wake up!" she hissed in a whisper so loud it could hardly qualify as a whisper anymore. "Valen, the sun's up! Time to get up! Don't make me come in there..." ""

An annoyingly chipper voice outside his den roused the giant from his sleep. One eye peeped open to assess the situation. Valentine loathed mornings and those who enjoyed them. Cascade appeared to be a morning person and the brute's opinion on her lowered significantly (at least for the time being). His open eye narrowed. Grumpily, he whined, "Go away." She continued to speak - her gleeful voice grating on his nerves - and in response Valentine petulantly  flung a massive paw over his face. "Don't make me come in there..." Cascade's threat drew an ill humored growl from him. If she wanted him up, she was indeed going to have to make him. Saucily, he snapped, "Do your worst." ""
