Freedom! That thought pounded through his head as he raced away from the border that had once marked his cage. They were free, finally they could run and romp to their satisfaction. Of course he had pelted away from his brother, calling back over his shoulder to catch him, "if you can," he had added with a teasing tone before tearing out of the pack lands.

Out here, beyond the scent that had grown all to stagnant for his liking, it was easy to imagine that the world had really continued on turning during their imprisonment. The whole of his body thrummed with energy as he sprinted. The thin line of a river slowly materialized before him, widening as he rushed towards it. Finally he pulled up beside it, leaning down to lap greedily at it’s cold water. Lifting his head he glanced back over his shoulder looking for his twin.

They were ste loose, for the first time in a very long time Psalm could feel his legs stretch, the smell of freedom almost overwhelming. His attentions would soon stray from his newfound liberty as his brother issued a challenge. The two had started off together, but even now a competitive game would ensue. Hymn was already so much bigger than Psalm, but the shorter pup could put of a burst of speed. Even with his brother's head start Psalm would continue right on his heels as they blasted into the bay. He felt like it had been simply forever since he'd been here. An immovable grin would play on his features as he trailed after his brother, mud and leaf litter spraying up behind him as they ripped up the earth.

He would watch as the river grew in size with each step he took towards it. The boy hadn't really expected his brother to stop, he'd try to put on the breaks but he would inevitably collide with Hymn, most likely toppling both of the twins into the water. Not that Psalm was about to complain about that. The weather was getting warmer and after his run he would gladly take a swim.
