Novella wasn't entirely certain how long she had actually slept for, when her eyes had finally closed she had been too tired to pay any attention to the time and of course whatever focus remained had been taken by her new children than caring what the sun was doing. She felt rather more rested now though and the morning light was streaming lazily through the entrance of the den as she opened her eyes to discover Frith had already risen and wandered off somewhere. A soft cry would draw her attention to the tiny forms of Fate and Luck, the helpless, little pups now fidgeting as they sought to creep closer to her side. With a soft smile she would nuzzle them both gently, a quiet good morning greeting falling upon their deaf ears.

His dark form had indeed vacated the den, if only for a moment, to relieve himself. He'd slept beside his wife most of the night, though he'd fallen asleep after her and woke before her. He hadn't gone too far when he heard her call out for him, his return was simple enough. Now that she had found wakefulness once more did she feel ready to introduce the newest of their family to the rest of the pack?

With a proud grin on his features the author would slip back into their family den, once more filled with the bodies of their tiny children. First bicolored eyes would fall on his better half, her tired form still more beautiful than any she wolf in the whole of Alacritis. He still thanked his lucky stars that she was his. As he slipped in next to her once more he'd reverse himself. His shoulders would snuggle closely to her hips and his neck reach over her to nuzzle their tiny puppies.

She was unsure when was the right time to see her mother. Had the pups been born yet? Was she allowed to see them? There was only one way to find out. Curiously and smoothly, the girl slipped silently into the Authors' den, sending a warm greeting to her parents. "Good morning."

Her gaze had not yet seen the awaited surprise, and when she did, her eyes melting at the sight of her newborn siblings. Her mother looked rested, which meant she wouldn't be as cranky if Varda happened to be interrupting. For now, all she could think of was how different they were. While her littermates were a solid colour with barely noticeable markings, these pups were an assortment of shades. There was a cream male with a chestnut mask and ebony paws and a mocha female with the same cream colouring for her mask and back. A year ago, that would have been her with Aslan and Herne.

"Oh, they're beautiful." She kept her gasp hushed to ensure she would not disturb the sleeping pups. In a crouched form, she gently whispered to her siblings who were nuzzling Novella's stomach. "Welcome to the world, little ones."

Aslan had taken to trying to do what he could to help his parents whilst his mother was pregnant, it had been impossible to not notice her growing stomach and in the later stages the fact that she remained closer to the den than usual. One task he had taken upon himself that morning was to catch something for his mother's breakfast. He anticipated arriving to the typical scene of his mother resting and yet there was something clearly different this morning.

The scent for starters was different, he couldn't place it though as he approached the den to drop off the breakfast and check everything was ok he caught Varda's quiet voice exclaiming the beauty of something. Definitely intrigued now, Aslan dropped the rabbit and peered inside the den, trying to catch a glimpse to confirm what he suspected. As Varda lowered herself to the floor he would notice them, the two little pups snuggled together at his mother's side. "They're so small..." He was astounded by how tiny they were, he knew of course that pups weren't as big as adults but he had never  realised just how small they were at the early stages of their life.

Wherever her husband had gone it wouldn't be long before he returned, slipping easily beside her once more and quietly settling himself back down, reaching around to nuzzle the tiny pups in his own silent good morning to them. Selfishly she was quite content to hide out here for a while longer, enjoying these peaceful moments. Fate and Luck would grow quickly after all and such a quiet morning would soon be unheard of. The news of their birth would of course need to be announced soon to the pack, though their elder siblings would once again deserve to meet them first.

Right on cue two of them would appear now. Novella would smile in greeting as Varda crept inside and swiftly turned her attention to her new little brother and sister. Had Frith gone to tell them at some point whilst she rested and Varda been unable to wait to meet them? It didn't matter though, and Aslan too soon appeared, marvelling at how small they were. "You were once this small." She informed them both glancing now to the elder two children. "Well you were Varda, Aslan you were a little bigger." She hadn't realised then just how much that small difference in size would continue though the boy was a lot bigger than his siblings now. These two she suspected would be more similar to Varda and Herne in size.

"Meet Fate and Luck, your new little brother and sister." She informed the pair, resting her nose gently over each one as she spoke their names.

The pair would relax silently for a few moments with their new brood in secret, no one but he and her had experienced the birth and rather selfishly had not yet called their first children to meet them. Frith couldn't deny his enjoyment in their peaceful morning, but he should have known that keeping something so big from Aslan and Varda was more than impossible. The sounds of foot steps outside would alert him to the next presence, his features would lift from the tiny babies as Varda slipped into the den that she had been born in the year before. As she would breathe her wonder the much taller Aslan would also slip inside, his eyes wide with wonder as well.

There was nothing but positive energy radiating from the den as the older siblings met younger, and Frith found himself smiling easily as Novella answered their son. They had been tiny, but he hadn't been quite that tiny. Novella had been much larger with their first, almost completely thanks to Aslan. His wife would take to introducing them to their tiny siblings, and the proud father would only watch as he nuzzled Novella's back lovingly.

Only moments later, Aslan creeped into the den, exclaiming how small their siblings were. She briefly glanced back at the chocolate boy, finally realizing the size difference between him and their siblings. Her thoughts could only imagine the scenes of a fairly large boy playing with his tiny siblings, hopefully it wouldn't end with any squashing. Eventually they would grow, at least reaching her height.

It seemed her parents had already named the pups, leaving her a little disappointed as she wanted to help with that. Oh well, it was their choice after all. She would be able to name her own children when she was older. Fate and Luck were still beautiful names for beautiful pups.

"Fate and Luck." She murmured half to herself, adjusting herself to the names she would soon be repeating further in the future. Her remaining words grew louder with volume and energy. "I like it."

Aslan wouldn't have liked Varda's thoughts all that much. He was of course perfectly fine with the idea of playing and spending time with his siblings though the thought, however brief, of squashing them was a horrible one that could quite easily be true. He wasn't overly clumsy, but accidents could happen and he certainly would have feared it a possibility if Varda considered it for even a moment.

His mother would comment how the small size was perfectly normal, he in fact had been an odd child larger than any of them. Their names however were the comment he would treasure the most. A new brother and a new sister, Fate and Luck. Varda echoed the names softly and he would smile now as he gazed at them.

Aslan had been quiet upon first discovering the news and now the boy would stand in silence once again as he watched them. Novella's gaze now rested upon both her elder children though, watching the fascination they adored their new siblings with. Fate and Luck of course didn't know it yet, though they were already bonding with their elder siblings, the proud mother looked forwards to how that bond would continue to develop. She had no doubts now that Aslan and Varda would do their best to be wonderful examples for their little brother and sister, care for them in much the same way they cared for each other.

"I'm afraid they aren't too exciting just yet" Novella informed them though they could surely see that for themselves. "Just you wait though, it won't be long before they'll be up and about." On one paw she didn't want to rush to that stage but on the other it would be fun to watch them grow, to see how they would react to these big brothers and sister they were lucky to have.
