Paws hit the earth almost without a sound. The morning was still young, and the calico gentleman putting the daylight to good use. For a while he had let his usual training slip, but right now Allen was working on practicing his movements. Soundless as he could make himself, as swift as he could manage, keeping his body form drawing too much attention. He wasn't exactly colored exactly like the landscape, but he could get by well enough so long as he didn't make too much noise. He had covered most of the length of the rapids by the time he came to a stop, slowing with his tail swishing slowly back and forth.

Body would lay by the water, gaze shifting to the moving rapids. Ears were perked, his heart racing with a gentle and satisfying pulse. The man would close his dark green eyes, thinking about how lucky he was, and also how worried he was. Nona... something was up. She had been gone off on an herb gathering trip for a bit longer than he felt seemed necessary. Was she alright? Should he look for her? Perhaps she just thought of another herb that she needed to gather... Allen would stretch. Perhaps a bit of sunning would do his aging body some good.

Nona would slowly move towards where she would find Allen. Despite having any sort of rest now she was still a bit weary from her trip and her injuries still somewhat pained her when she tried to keep a steady pace to move towards Allen. She felt like she would disappoint him with the fact she was injured and only now would he see that. The fact that she couldn't attend to her own wounds had crushed her thoughts as a Vor at the moment. For now Nona slowly moved up towards Allen until she pressed her head into his neck as best she could. Her voice would softly speak to him, "Allen... I'm sorry for being away so long... I guess I needed someone to look out for me when I was out there looking for those herbs". Nona would close her eyes and think about what was to be done next now that she had a whole stockpile of new herbs to use but her injuries were starting to get to her.

There was a weak laugh that escaped her lips but also a loud whine. Her ears pinned back as pain shot up her right foreleg. Nona was trying her best to hide it but she wasn't doing very well she thought to herself but it was Allen after all. He was her mate and he cared about her as she cared about him. Hopefully he would catch the hint despite thinking she was interrupting his stretch. The morning light did help give her some energy though as it felt nice to be back home where her mate was. Once more she would speak to him softly, "Allen...I'm sorry... that I went out alone to look for herbs and ended up with these injuries before returning home to you and the pack... I'm sorry".

Allen  was startled by the sound of her approached, but more so by what he saw when his eyes laid on Nona. He was in shock, letting her bury his head into his neck. "Nona..." He gave a whine. Gods above... what happened to her? Why was she like this? The questions raced through his mind, yet it was as if he was frozen by what he was trying to figure out. His heart ached, and Allen would listen to her, feeling every fiber of his being calling out. Slowly, almost shakily, Allen would rise. All of her body he spied wounds. Nothing overly serious individually, but still, it left him shaken up. He would lick her muzzle, another whine spilling from his lips.

"Gods above Nona..." He cursed himself for not going with her. He would move up along her side, trying to coax her to lay down, at least for now. "Lay down. I'll go over your wounds with some moss to clean your wounds. From now on I don't want you collecting herbs without me. If you come back like this again I'll probably never let you out of the den ever again." Allen would lick one of the wounds, feeling his anxiety making him  shake. All he wanted was to make sure she'd be safe and well.

Nona would lay down as best she could for Allen. She knew that he was a capable healer in his own right and greatly appreciated everything he's done for her. Now with her having come back and carrying injuries from her own adventures gathering herbs this was going to be the last time she went out on her own. There was a gentle smile that played across her maw as she gently spoke, "Allen, I want you to know that every second that I was away I thought about you and coming home with all these herbs to help everyone and you know that is why I went out, not because I wanted to prove that I'm strong or fast or anything like that but to let everyone know that I want to help you and everyone when there are injuries to be tended to and illness to be taken care of". She knew that Allen would understand why but that certainly not change the fact that she would ask him to come with her on future trips to retrieve herbs. However it didn't quite help when she went out with all that snow and other wonderful cold conditions. Nona wouldn't ever go out alone again but she didn't want to put a strain on the pack if taking Allen out with her to gather herbs would cause a inconvenience to the pack. That was something she would have to talk to Bass about at a later time though so for now she was going to follow Allen's orders while he was treating her.

The man was shaking some. He was afraid of what might have happened if things had been worse. Would Nona have come back alive? Would she be... The man would shiver some, his dark colored eyes focused on her. If she had any idea how worried he was, even with her back. He knew she had gone out alone for the right reasons... But the fact she had gotten hurt when she was alone is what worried him. The calico gentleman let out a loud whine. “...and what would we have done if you had gotten more seriously injured? If you never came home?” His words might have been a bit harsh, but he was terrified of losing her.

The man turned towards the rapids, carefully scraping off the moss on one of the rocks. Then he worked on getting it wet. It wouldn’t be as good as an actual healer’s work, but it would help at least some. Besides that, he wasn’t sure what might be lingering on her coat. It was better to clean the top layer first this way. At least... That was what he thought. He would move to Nona’s side, carefully running the wet moss over one of the wounds. His eyes were shining with a deep pain... With worry. What was he going to do if he lost her? He swallowed hard, moving over one wound and then another, feeling his heart sinking in his chest. She’d be lucky if he let her out of the den during the next month for anything other than absolute necessities!
