Excuse me, Mr Alpha?
Shaye had intended to go straight to Bass and talk to him about Rhythm, but then she had found a new friend and gotten a little distracted, and before she knew it a few days had slipped through her paws... she was a little embarrassed, and hoped Rhythm wasn't annoyed at the wait. So she would go to Bass's den, she knew how to get there thought she hadn't gone much. Honestly, she had in the past spent all her time with Rhythm and Shaye and the busy Alpha and herself hadn't crossed paths often.

He wasn't near his den when the howl sounded, but just a few paces behind where the little girl was calling him from. He let out a soft laugh and nuzzles the top of her head when he rounded the corner, plopping to his rump right in front of her. She was a very pretty girl, but he knew that she had been slinking to see Rhythm. He couldn't hold the girl away from family, he had made the choice and didn't realize how much they would suffer because of it. But it wasn't safe, that was a far trek for the young girl. He would have to bring it up later, maybe one of his boys could go with her at least. "So what can I do for ya, my dearest niece?" he asked softly, the tip of his tongue sticking out between his teeth. Bass was the perfect combination of adult and child, and he loved to spend time playing with the pups. Plus, wouldn't it be good for future training for them to know that he loved them all? Speaking of training... he should talk to Motif about getting that up soon.
Her wait would be a very short one, before Bass rounded the corner and was nuzzling the back of her head. She yelped with surprise and giggled as she fell back onto his breast and looked up at the older boy, despite the fact that she didn't know him very well, she was an excitable and happy creature (most of the time) and had no problems showing him her affection.

She giggled and looked up at him, and he couldn't help but smile sweetly back at her. When she spat out that she had been going to see Rhythm, he eyed her and nodded slowly. "I know," he said, giving her a look to let her know that. He had seen her slip out before, and an alpha always held tabs on their wolves. He froze when she spoke next though, saying that he should allow her back. His lip twitched, but he didn't dare show his teeth to the young one. "No." It was all he said as first, fixing her with a hard stare. He knew that she was young, but they all needed to know at some point that they couldn't always get their way. "You're lucky enough that I haven't told your mother that you have been sneaking out. Do you know that your Aunty Rhythm hurt us very badly? And she made her own choice, so I made certain that she had to stick by it. This is a matter that you do not understand." Sighing, his head hung slightly, gaze softening as he eyed Shaye. "If you saw your daddy fight for you, to keep you safe, would you go away with them anyways? And chose to stay with the people who tried to take you away? After all that time watching your father put his neck out there for you, would you just walk away?" It was a hard thing to think about, but perhaps she could see why Bass had made the decision that he did.
The little girl shuffled uncomfortably as Bass told her that he knew. She had tried to be careful about her.. umm.. adventures (she refused to use the word 'sneaking') but of curse she shuld have expected that the Alpha of this pack knew about her travels across his border. He didn't sound mada about that, but with her next hesitant, nervous words he would freeze, one word pushed angrily form his lips. 'no' he told her, and she shivered at the finality of it, and the hard stare that followed. |
