The arctic breeze of a pup moved forth with a long and elegant gait as her head swiveled to look about. Her breathing was steadied and carefully placed as she remained on the hunt for food. A deer scent, a few elk scents but nothing small enough for the girl to hunt on her own. She wrinkled her nose as she looked for something or another. Another scent filled her nose which made her eyes widen. Was that the scent of a pack? Her ears perked up as she listened around for any pawsteps or something of the sort. Perhaps there was something that she could use to her advantage on the lands. She knew better than to cross them but she thought about the rush that she might feel if she were to do it. Stop being an adrenaline junky. The toughened winter child scolded herself.
She was Calypsei, daughter of Poseidon and Calypso and she could not give into such demands. She had her name to think about. To have such a name tarnished as only pup would be a crime. She would hold out her luck, moving away from the borders with a disheartened look on her face. She had taken the brief time to consider asking to join the pack but no wolves were around and who would take in a pup who knew nothing anyway? She sighed as she walked away from the borders of Abaven.
He had been patrolling the borders when he caught the scent of a stranger. Right away his guard went up, and he quickly made his way towards the scent. However, what he caught was the tail end of a rather bright wolf, and she looked quite young too. Hackles settled as he paused at his own borders, pale head tilting slightly. She seemed way too young to be by herself, and let out a bark to try and catch her attention. "Hey, hold on a sec!" he called after her, trotting to try and bring himself to her side. "Are you looking for somewhere to stay?" Golden eyes inspected her, he hadn't ever seen a wolf with such bright, vivid colours on them before. He knew that he was staring, and cleared his throat as he tried to meet her gaze. Bass wasn't one to just turn a blind eye to those in need, and he had no intention of just leaving her here to walk away. "I'm Bass Destruction, alpha of the pack behind you. But in Abaven, I'm called an Azat," he explained softly. His own pups were still young, probably about the same age as her, so he knew better than to talk to her like she was a child. It drove his own kids mental. Smiling down at her, he let out a soft chuckle. Just thinking about his children made him so much happier. He hoped that if she was going to stay with him, that they wouldn't make a comment about her odd colouring.
The young girl had been perfectly content with walking away from the scene, ignoring the scent wafting towards her until a voice spread across the distance. Her head turned to see a full grown adult standing there, telling her to wait up. She did not recognize him which made her wonder if she should run or not. She did not know how to fight so she could not take him. He asked her if she was looking for somewhere to stay. Slowly, she shook her head up and down before speaking. "I'm not very good at anything though." The words were soft and whispered but that did not necessarily make her weak and helpless.
The young man introduced himself as Bass Destruction and continued on to claim the role of alpha for the pack whom had their borders close to where she had paused. "I'm Calypsei Oceana, loner and roamer." She dipped her head in greeting as she turned her body to face him. The vibrant girl cocked her head to the side as she cast a curious glance at the male. This man was strange, he did not patronize her like others preferred to.
The girls head shook slowly, saying that she wasn't good at much. Bass let out a small laugh, his own head shaking back and forth. "Someone is good at everything, dear. even if you don't know it yet." He said wisely, pulling himself down to a seated position. She said that she was alone, and a frown pulled at the corners of his mouth. She was pretty young to be all alone, which pulled on his heartstrings. "Do you have some place to go? I wouldn't mind if you wanted to take shelter in my pack. We really are quite a close knit pack, and I know that everyone would love you," he said softly, smiling softly at the girl. She was quite the looker too, and he couldn't help but offer her a home. The poor dear, Bass couldn't just let her wander around by herself! She hardly seemed like she was a year old yet, and the world was full of big ol' meanies that might take advantage of her. He couldn't have that now. Even before he had his own children, Bass had always had a soft spot for puppies. He just wanted to protect and hoard them all, make them all safe and offer them a home. Calypsei was no different.
Her head would tilt to the side when he said that everyone was good at something. She highly doubted that. The ocean foam of a girl frowned and he sat down. Dear? As a child, she had only known a man to call his wife dear, but she supposed that it was just a different culture. She was pretty bright for her age given what she had gone through. At least when she had been kidnapped, her captors had treated her most kindly. He asked if she had any place to go and she shook her head. "My parents were quite keen to make sure I knew to never return." The words were filled with a certain sadness that she had not meant to reflect out in her tone.
He offered her a place in his home and it confused her the slightest bit. He didn't even know her. Was it the disguise of being so young that she had to be innocent? Calypsei had mixed feelings as to what would become of her if she acted out or something of the sorts. She would have to take the risk because the fact was she could not defend herself. "I... I'd very much like that, ser."
