She didn't move as he roared, as he ranted and raved. But when his head lowered, he saw her paws move towards him. Head snapped up as his gaze searched her own, seeing the hunger grow in her eyes as she spoke. Confusion wracked his mind, what did she mean? His lips curled away from his teeth as they faced each other down. "Name one time you have showed me that kindness. And how could I warn you when you were off fighting someone to the death?" He tossed back at her, shoulders squaring off as they stood chest to chest. "Unlike you, I am close to my pack and my children, and would lay down anything for them. I have been close to Ebony since the day that I started Abaven, I could not turn them away because your pack members threatened to bring their family down. I stick up for family, above all else. I had thought that you understood that, being a mother yourself." He spat, easily pulling his head back to avoid her jaws. Oh so she wanted to play dirty, did she? "You are different than I had thought. I thought that there was goodness in your heart, but I see now that all you want is destruction. I am all for fighting for what is right, to protect those around you, but for pure blood lust is madness. It is something that will bring you down on your knees," He backed up from her, golden eyes looking her up and down. There was only darkness in her heart, where before he had thought that there was something in her that was light. But maybe it had all been something that he had put there, something he had made up. She went on to insult Ebony, which drew a humorless laugh from his maw. "They had the guts to stand for themselves, and you think they are a waste of space? Its about damn time that packs stop cowering in fear from things that ail them. Instead an alpha greater than you or I could ever be found the courage to march his wolves into your land and take down you pack, while you left your daughter to fight in your place. According to my wolves, you didn't even make an appearance. Too busy killing off sick wolves?" He asked her, his voice sickly sweet.
Bass lowered his head, although there was a flare of sadness in his eyes when she asked if he was going to be burned down as well. "I will fight for my pack and family until my last breath, even if that means I have to take you down with me. I don't want to do this, I don't want more blood on either of our paws. You don't have to do this, Cataleya." He knew that his words would fall on deaf ears, but it was worth a try. He sighed again, his head shaking back and forth. "You are going to get burned by all of this sooner or later Cata... and if that's not me warning you than I don't know what it is. You're not the only wolf with a back bone any longer. I just wish you could see that."
