So she had a new family now. They were not her mother, father, or sisters, but from what she had learned about Ama yet she was nice. She was still a bit shy about the others, but Ritselli wanted to get to know them better! The girl would wake up fairly early, looking at her family within the den. She was just watching them, her green eyes shining brightly. She was, in her eyes, actually really lucky. She might have lost her birth family but... she had two mothers now to take care of her and four new siblings. Deciding to slither up to one of the boys the girl would gently poke him with one of her paws. "Heyy umm... can you wakes up?" The little girl would ask. How did one even interact properly? She was feeling a little shy about it.

Summer had been awful. Had he been a little younger and at a more immature age, chances were Archie would have ran, or rather slumped around declaring that he was melting. Instead he had spent as much of it as he could quietly suffering as he lazed around attempting to find the coolest places to hide and escape the heat of the sun and missing the cool comfort of the snow. He had survived though, just about made it through the hottest season and perhaps another year coping with the different temperature and the boy wouldn't suffer quite so much.

Autumn still wasn't as cool as he wanted it to be of course, though after the Summer it was a relief as the temperatures began to drop. It hadn't made him any better though of course, the boy was still feeling rather sluggish and lazy in general. He had come to quite like doing nothing. For example sleeping was a brilliant way to pass time. It had been so awful sleeping in the heat so he slept whenever he could to catch up on what he'd missed tossing and turning in the night. He was quite happily asleep now until a little paw nudged his shoulder and a soft voice suddenly spoke in his ear.

"No." He murmured simply, red eyes not even opening for a second to glance at this new little sister they had. Though he hadn't exactly warmed up to her just yet, this reaction wasn't to be mean, he would do the same thing if any of his brothers had tried to disturb him. He wasn't ready to move just yet and so he wouldn't.

Athena hadn't been getting much sleep lately. She was in heat, which was part of it, but another part of it was just her constant, unending thoughts. When Amalia brought the young girl home to live with them she had been more than happy to welcome the girl in with open arms. She knew that she and Amalia both had plenty of love to give and she expected that her sons would watch after her without complaint, but at the same time it got her thinking. Her sons were a year old now and now that she was in heat again it got her wondering if she might ever have more children. She would love to... but she didn't know how she could possibly bring these thoughts up to Amalia.

She was laying awake with these thoughts when a little voice caught her attention and she blinked open her split-tone gaze to see Ritselli poking at an ever grumpy Archelaus. She smiled a little and chuckled softly. "Come here, Ritselli. Leave him be," she said softly, waving the small girl over with a small movement of her paw. Her bracelets clinked together softly as she rolled over from her side onto her stomach, settling onto her stomach with her forelegs out in front of her and her hind legs stretched out to her side. Once the girl had come over to her she smiled gave the pup a small kiss on her forehead. Even though she hadn't gotten to know her very well yet, she was determined to treat her just as she would her own children. "How did you sleep, sweetheart?"

No.

Ritselli's ears would sink at those words as her brother refused to even open his eyes. She'd give a small whine, about to protest, when the voice of her momma caught her attention. She'd take one last look at Archie before bounding over to Athena's side. She would settle down, leaning into the woman's front leg. She'd look up to the woman with her bright eyes, smiling some. She felt a little awkward in this family yet... she was happy to be part of it. It was better than being alone... though she sometimes wished her daddy was still here with her.

"Mornin' Momma~" The young girl would say. She liked when she got kisses; they were signs of love! Her little tail would wag on the floor, trying to keep her voice down when she spoke so that way she didn't wake anyone else up. "I slept okay. I just want to play now though... but everyone else is still sleeping... Do they not want to play? Are they just really, really tired?" The young girl would ask, that small pout returning back to her face.

Archie of course was a very bad example of what this little family could really offer Ritselli. The boy was certainly a little on the selfish side and most definitely leaning towards lazy. Perhaps he had simply gotten used to the comforts of doing nothing during the family's periods of loss and settling in or maybe they simply acted like good excuses for him to get away with the frankly bad behaviour. His poor little sister just wanted to spend some quality time with her new family, the least he could do was open his eyes.

And yet he got away with his refusal, his mother beckoning the girl to her instead. Though his mouth was partially obscured by his paws, a small smirk could potentially be visible, a small celebration at his success. It'd fade again as the girl began to chatter away. Truth be told he wasn't too keen on the idea of playing, though the weather was cooling it was still too warm in Archie's mind to be running around all over the place. And he was pretty tired, this cramped den wasn't exactly the easiest place to sleep in, he still missed the old one they'd had back in the North. At a year old perhaps he should have moved out, though digging a new den to just the way he wanted it had not been a way he wanted to spend those hot Summer days.

"Really, really tired." Came the same sleepy murmur. At least he held back the urge to shh her though it was incredibly tempting. All this talk didn't help you sleep either.

Athena smiled as she watched the excitable little girl, chuckling at her assumption that no one wanted to play because they were tired. Her ear twitched when she heard Archelaus' agreement that he was oh so tired and she rolled her eyes, shooting her lazy son a half-playing glare. "Don't mind silly Archy," she said as her gaze went back to her newly adopted daughter with a smile. "Come on, I'll play with you."

With that she rose to her paws and slipped out of the den, blinking a little as she stepped into the sunlight. It was just easier to get up and play with Ritselli than it was to listen to her son's mumbling. Besides, she missed the days when she got to play with her pups like this and maybe one of her other sons or Ama would get up in a little bit and play with them too. She shook out her coat and stretched with a wide yawn before smiling and looking down at Ritselli. "What would you like to do?"
