Once Rhy agreed to speak to him in private, he passed by Wren and placed a kiss on her forehead before finding a more private space for the two of them to talk. He looked over his shoulder and grinned sheepishly at his sister, before looking forward and settling down on his rump. Taking a shaky sigh he eyed her softly, head hanging a tad bit lower than normal. "I... want to fix things, Rhythm. Our last conversation did not go too well." He said solemnly, eyes flickering as he remembered both Chord and Rhythm's harsh words towards him, and his own tossed at them as well. It was not something that he had wanted to go on this long, but the hurt and anger had been all consuming. It was time to grow up and try to work around this. He didn't know if things would be the same, but they needed to be better. "But... to be honest I am not sure how to. I thought that inviting you here would be the first step. Although you did seem to be rather close when I called." He said with a small chuckle, his shoulders still tense. He did not want this to become a yelling match, or for more spiteful words to be tosses at each other. Bass just knew that so long as there was a rut between them, it would be constantly eating a whole through his heart.
She didn't hesitate when he'd asked her to follow after him, she could only assume that he didn't think their talk would take very much time. He needed to be there to greet his other guests she was sure, as well she didn't want the whole party put on hold for her sake. Already their meeting was going better than the last, she hadn't thrown up on his border and it hadn't taken Chord to get her here. Of course at first she'd had no intention of even looking at her brother she was both nervous and excited for his invitation. He would smile as he pulled her away, obviously as eager as her to start putting the past behind them.
Her features perked visibly as he spoke, she couldn't disagree with him, they'd all spoken rather harshly. The words that came from his lips were similar to what she wished to say, all she wanted was to give a receive an apology. Forgiveness would start them on the road to recovery, and n matter what happened after their relationship would be much better than what they had now. "It's my nieces and nephews birth season, I couldn't stay away." Her voice was quiet, but there was obviously still more confidence in it than the last time they'd seen each other. She'd avert her gaze a moment before a soft sigh fluttered from her dark lips. She'd sheepishly find his gaze once more, "I'm sorry for everything Bass, I never meant to hurt anyone."
She still seemed so submissive still, although slowly her courage was starting to grow. She gave her reason for being close, and he nodded his head in understanding. "I don't blame you. I would be a very bad father if I kept you away from them. They miss you, a lot," he said as he leaned forward, touching his nose to her forehead. "we all have." He admitted, his voice soft. She looked away for a moment, and he wished that she would have more confidence in herself. It killed him that he was probably at fault for most of that. But once more she looked up, and he offered her a small smile. "As am I, for all of this nonsense." Bass whispered. He stepped forward, slowly at first, and then he thrust his chest against her own and wrapped her in a tight embrace. His neck wrapped tightly around her own as he hummed softly. "I love you, Rhy. I always have."
Being away from the children she had seen born had been one of the more difficult challenges she had dealt with. Bass would even admit that if he'd denyed her to them he would not have been a fit father, it melted her heart to know that she'd been missed, especially by Bass. She didn't want to think of that day and the words that had been said to her. She had doubted her sibling's feelings toward her for so long, she could hardly believe what she heard. He was soft with her, more gentle than he'd been in almost a year. It felt good to be back in her home again, and to have Bass so near to her. Only a bit of hesitation would be seen before she apologized, and she meant every word. She would be sorry for her entire life how those events had unfurled. Though with Bass's quiet words and his sudden embrace Rhythm would feel the weight of the world slip from her thin shoulders. With a long sigh she would lean into her brother's embrace, she'd missed being in this place. Embraced in her brother's protective arms the girl would hug her brother back, knowing his words for truth, and forgiving him for his part in all that had happened. "I love you too, Bass. I've missed you all more than you know." She couldn't help but whisper back as she let herself be surrounded by Bass. She knew they would soon need to return to the festivities and enjoy the rest of her family.
He let out a huge breath of air when she wrapped around him as well, licking her gently behind the ear. "You can come here when you wish Rhy, just howl at the borders, okay?" He said softly, not wanting to pull back but did so very slowly. "So all is forgiven then?" Bass asked, resting his head atop her own as he gazed down at her pretty two-toned eyes. He had missed having his family here as one, it had been too long. To many rifts and now he was just tired of it, it made him feel old and icky. Letting out a sigh he shook his head, pulling back as he stood up and shook out his fur. They had been gone long enough, they were all going to expect them back soon. Licking her nose, he waited a few moments for her answer before nodding his head. "Let's go back, I am sure that they are missing us at the party."
She could feel his relief as she slipped into his embrace, she'd smile at his kiss and grin as he offered her a place here. She could come back to Abaven whenever she wished, all that was needed was a howl. He'd pull back slowly, making sure that the wound had a sufficient bandage to start healing. "Of course, Bass." She'd smile as she took in his bright gaze, she loved her brother and though they'd held onto their pain for so long they could still forgive each other.
She would mirror his movement as he pulled away, taking a deep breath and also shaking out her fur she'd nod as he offered to escort her back to the party. She'd nod enthusiastically, she couldn't wait to get back. She couldn't wait to feel her family around her again, to be the unit they once had been not so long ago. She knew that their relationships would never be as perfect as they had once been, but forgiveness was the road to happiness. Rhythm would smile softly to herself as she felt a peacefulness settled over her as she followed Bass back.
