Bring Home the Bacon [festival hunt]
|
The boy followed the larger wolf that was to lead his hunting group. The dark brown male much larger then Shiki's measly height of twenty three inches, though he did not feel intimidates surprisingly. His excitement was too much, the anticipation he was hardly able to bear. His first real hunt with pack wolves! He stopped near the larger male, his bushy tail just above the ground, and Shiki holding himself as tall as he could as he gazed up at the stranger. Now would be a good time to introduce himself, he thought. "Hi, I'm Shiki! It's an honor to hunt with a pack wolf!" He greeted Frith whole heartedly before looking at who else might be joining them. He was eager to start, and more eager to find out what they might be hunting.
The male felt a bit of confidence in his steps as he wandered forth, heeding the call of the one he'd been assigned to hunt with. Gaze would shift between his teammates, landing on one little wolf in particular. He was small... almost petite. It looked like he would have a harder time participating, but at least he had the spirit and courage to do so! The male would chuckle softly to himself, coming up beside the younger boy. "It truly is a good feeling, isn't it?" There was a sparkle of mischief in his eyes. He couldn't remember the last time he had hunted in a group! His gaze would then shift to the leader of their hunting party. "So... catch the scent of anything particularly tasty?" He would ask, noting how the man had moved with purpose as he lead the group.
Walk ---- "Speak" ---- "Hear" ---- Think |
So it appeared she was stuck with a rather cheery bunch of wolves. Frith she could cope with, a leader he was obviously somewhat respectable though the young, excitable boy was who would likely bug her, she could feel it already. "Then join a pack." She responded, an unamused tone to her voice and a serious face to match. It had been a while since she had hunted with others, though she wasn't dancing around on the spot or revelling in how great a privilege it was. Sure it would be an interesting experience, attempting a hunt with these strangers though there was no particular honour in it. "The pigs?" She would take a guess as she glanced towards the dark brown male who had led them here. Her own nose had picked up the scent as well, and she was eager to move the conversation away from the prattle of honour and seriously onto the matter at hand. |

It was time then. for them to discuss their prospective hunt. Shiki sitting quietly as he listened to the Alpha, whose name he learned was Frith. So they were going to hunt Pigs? He had never hunted a pig before, the only thing he had really hunted were rabbits and fish...and the occasional bird. His stature too small to really hunt anything big like Deer. But his determination was bigger then his size, so he would do his best in this hunt. He nodded at Frith's suggestion, and so he would move to a position on the Alpha's left a foot or so away, waiting for the signal (if any) to move. His father had told him before, that when hunting with others, it was best to have a plan, so that everyone knew what to do and not run amok. Else, no prey would be had. He glanced at the others, wondering how good they were at hunting, and was sure that they would give all their effort like he would...or maybe they wouldn't. He didn't know. Though he was pretty sure they were more skilled then he was at Hunting. Nonetheless, it wouldn't stop him from trying.
Talvi probably could have found a way to be more polite though she wouldn't try and fortunately the boy wouldn't make too big a deal of it, his hushed words unnoticed by the blue and silver woman who had now fixed her attention onto Frith, evidently the one who'd be the little leader of their group. Her guess was revealed as correct and the rest of the dark coloured man's plan would soon be shared with them all as well. Hopefully the excitable child would be able to control himself enough to get on with this hunt without any distractions or difficulties to ruin it all for the rest of them. He'd shut up now which was a good sign. A small nod would be given in response, she was alert and ready to spring into action at his command now. |
