The giant cat lazily moved across the tepid sand. He'd been aware of the land bridge for some time now, but had only recently decided to act on his curiosity. Kimbia had put a lot of thought into it, had carefully weighed the possible outcomes, and finally decided the gain was probably worth the risk. 'Probably' being the keyword. Much could go wrong. He had no idea what he was getting into, what kind of creatures might live at the other end. But that was just it -he didn't know. There could be a whole world beyond his slice of home. He'd carved out a range in his homeland, but many of his neighbors were close relatives and it made for slim and dangerous pickings. Perhaps -and it was, in his mind, a very slim perhaps- there were other cheetahs on the other side of the great unknown. He'd only ever known one way of life and while he knew others existed, the cat couldn't quite wrap his mind around those possibilities. Just thinking about the kind of things he might be able to learn across the bridge caused his heart to skip a beat. New plants and animals, new remedies (and on the same coin, new ailments) and new cultures. And as always, new dangers. In any case this would make for a story worth telling.

Pristine paws carried the young cat further south, with the cold of winter taking over the lands the place seemed much less like home. They had the rainy and dry seasons, none of this chilly snow covered nonsense that she found here. In effort to remedy her chilly self she decided to travel the path she was currently walking. Further south and hopefully to further warmth. She hadn't really seen much of her siblings yet (except Neemu who she'd come with), but that was certainly no matter. Eshe had tendency to go off on her own for lengths of time, she didn't think it rude that she hadn't greeted them yet. There was too much new in front of her to actively seek them out.

She searched only for warmer temperatures and maybe some familiar looking prey. Though she'd had some decent luck with the taste of the creatures that lived here she found she wanted some comfort food from her childhood. Gazelle in particular. Maybe she would also find them in the southern most reaches of this land. Eventually the odd path she'd found brought her to a land bridge filled with marvelous iridescent sand. Curious she wouldn't hesitate to follow it further. She never thought that she might reach the pot of gold at the end of the physical rainbow. Not that she made it to the end, they kind of met in between the two continents.

She'd stop well before she could come into range of him, the absolutely giant cat that he was. She wasn't sure she'd ever seen a cheetah as tall as he though his pattern would remind her of her sister and his color slightly of her brother. Her nervousness apparent in how her scruff of a man raised and her focus lingered upon him. Strange male cheetah's were not always so friendly, especially to she cheetah's of her age and condition. Eshe was just beginning her journey into adulthood with her very first heat. The urge to turn and run were almost as strong as the want to rush up and meet him.

The beast moved steadily, his ringed legs taking him far from the Northern pack that he had wandered away from. He was still a little pissed about it, that the so called Alphess of that damn pack had chosen to judge him just because. Secretly, he wanted a pack. But he wouldn't admit that. So he'd walk off that memory, and he hoped that so-called leader would regret her decision when she needed the strength the most. He was consumed in his thoughts, unaware of a nearby presence though he could care less. His mind was concentrated on other matters, the scent of the ocean and of sea creatures filling his nose. He wasn't quite sure where he was off to, but wherever his paws took him would be worthwhile.

Midway across the strip, Zell could see the looming trees that seemed to make up most of the new continent that lied on this side of the main land. He wondered what he might find over this way, and curiosity would draw him forward. His pace moved faster, gulls calling overhead and crabs scuttling away into their burrows. As he drew in the scents and sights of these creatures, another peculiar scent would be drawn. Tilting his head a little, he looked ahead. And at first, he'd see nothing. But a closer look would reveal a hulking figure, probably around his height and the creature seemed to have longer legs then average. Had he run into a native of these parts? Only one way to find out. And as he neared, his eyes would seek out another creature of the same characteristics, though the fur lighter and to him, nearly seemed to blend with the sun bleached sand. If not for her scent, he might have missed her.
Zell would approach quietly, ears perked as he stalked behind the spotted creatures. After a moment of following, he'd let out a loud bark in an attempt to capture the cats attention.

Kimbia was so lost in thought that he didn't notice the approaching queen until the wind shifted and brought her scent to him. Immediately he stilled, his head lifting in interest as the tip of his tail flicked in time with his thoughts. She looked so ordinary, so very much like the felines he was used to. Was she a traveler from his parts or one from the beyond? There was only one way to found out, wasn't there? But how to begin a conversation? If she was from the beyond, what were the odds she spoke the same languages? It was with this final thought in mind that Kimbia chose to greet her in Arabic. Somali was his first language, but in his dealings with others the tom had quickly learned that Arabic was the more common of the two. "As-salāmu ʿalayka," he greeted with a friendly chur. Kimbia's curiosity quickly got the better of him and he quickly rushed through the rest of his side of the pleasantries to get at what he really wanted: questions. "Motasharefon bema'refatek. Kimbia ismee. Hal tatakallam al-lughah al-'arabīyah? Min ayn anta?" More questions were on the tip of his tongue but they died there as the approach of yet another creature gave him pause. He whipped around with a growl as the bark reached his ears, his eyes locking on the creature. Kimbia stamped the ground once in warning, telling the newcomer to keep its distance for the time being. What...was that? It looked like a dog and it barked like a dog, but it most certainly did not look like any dog he'd ever seen before. No, it was too...fluffy and long faced and its ears were too small. Perhaps it was related to the dogs he was used to. Whatever it was, he was sure it came from the beyond. To no one in particular, he asked, "Sho Hada?"

The decision would no longer be hers as the girl lingered where she had been while this giant slate tom found his way to her side. He seemed curious but she was still unsure of him, her bright turquoise eyes wouldn't leave him and the suspicion apparent in her gaze wouldn't lessen until his words reached her rounded ears. Well at least he was civilized folk. "And with you as well," It seemed his need to have his questions answered was great, he would lead right into his barrage barely allowing her room for her own words. She learned his name, but wouldn't be allowed another answer as her attention was suddenly on the voice of another. Someone had been following her?

The golden cat jumped around to face this newcomer, thankful that it hadn't come all that close to her. Strange cheetahs were one thing, strange creatures were a whole different story. While the fur on her neck had settled at Kimbia's words she felt herself fluffing back up all over again. Though this time ever her tail fur stood on end. "A native? They're more common than cats further inland. My name is Eshe Duma, I'm not really from around here." Hopefully that had answered most of his questions, they had more to worry about than where she was born. Like what this canine wanted, was it smart enough to speak with them civilly?

He'd hear strange words spill from the mouth of the grey creature, though they were faint. And as soon as he had barked, it seemed he'd startle them both. The tom would take to stamping his feet, and this behavior was strange to Zell. Maybe it was a native? That behavior was strange enough...he'd expect it from a horse or other hoofed animal, but a cat? It puzzled him. He heard the words of the female, his demeanor growing serious though humor still slipped through.

He stopped several feet from them, his stance said he was not here to threaten them, though he'd keep his guard in the off chance these wild cats tried to gang up on him. "Sorry to sneak up on you like that." He'd apologize. Which was uncommon for the brute, but he'd rather apologize then risk his fur being raked clean by these two. But even so, they didn't quite look fit for fighting...their figures appeared to be more lean, more lithe, as if they were built for running. He was curious about them, just as he was sure they were curious about him. "By the way, I am a wolf. Not a Native, as I haven't been here that long...What about you cats? Are you natives of this part of the continent?" He'd inquire politely, wondering if they would even talk to him or if they were as rude as the last creature he encountered...which ironically enough, was a wolf.

Arabic - Somali - Bravanese - English

His heart caught in his throat as the queen answered him in his native language. Her accent was very different than his, but the words that reached his ears were unmistakably Arabic. The bridge that connected the two lands had appeared after a great storm...perhaps many years ago it had been washed away in a similar manner? Before then, perhaps their peoples had lived side by side (or were one and the same!) and that was how they'd come to share a language. In any case, Kimbia was thrilled with this discovery.

The queen -Eshe- went on to answer his question about the dog creature and in doing so poked a bunch of holes in his theory. She called it a native and said she wasn't from around here. Did that mean she was from his land after all? That was a question for later. Currently the dog thing was a priority.

The dog apologized, then went on to introduce himself as a wolf. "Not a native?" Was no one here a native? How disappointing! His first encounter in the new world and not one was from this place. "I am from farther south." Out of the corner of his eye, Kimbia watched the queen for her answer. He was curious and while he openly wanted to show it his main concern was the "wolf". If it was anything like the dogs he was used to it was probably best they just shoo him away now. So far he seemed somewhat civilized considering that he'd been restrained enough not to attack, but he hadn't even offered his name (let alone a polite greeting!) and for that reason Kimbia was leaning towards the belief that he was dealing with a primitive creature.

Eshe's attention wouldn't linger on the tom that had so easily spoken to her, instead her rounded ears and large turquoise eyes would remain of the dog that had found its was to them. The common tongue fell from his lips, a sounds she was not used to, her english was spotty at best but she could understand most everything that was said. Though she would have much preferred to sit under the shade of an acacia tree and speak with the other cat she would be strung into his conversation. Kimbia was more than an interesting discovery and she wanted nothing more than to speak with him about their peoples, first though the canine was in need of their attention. His question would be offered to both creatures though she wondered if he realized she and Kimbia had never met the other before today. They looked rather similar, though Kimbia was a king much like her sister.

To be polite she'd switch her dialect, though she'd do her best to shield the obvious mistakes she'd make. "From far away I've come. Following siblings from home land." That was really all she could offer, their old home had never really had a name. It was her birthplace, what she once thought to be the birth place of the cheetah, but here was this male standing before her who had never set foot in teh lands she'd once called home.
