Vitus was covered in blood. His usually off-white underside was stained crimson, his jowls soaked in the sticky liquid. Tongue lolled out of his mouth as he panted, moving with haste for the hot springs. Anger abated for the moment, he found himself seeking after nothing more than a warm bath and a moment to relax. His heart was still beating fast from his most recent conquest as he slinked into the warm water, allowing it to wash over his underside. He chose a rather deep pool, one that he could sit in and it would still reach up around his upper chest just below his neck. He watched the blood dilute into the water, swirling like some macabre paint before disappearing altogether as the water overtook it. He breathed a contented sigh and allowed his figure to relax - to breathe.
Carlisle appeared in the corner of his eye, fluttering and finally landing on the earth not far away. "I've never much been a fan of water," the bird smoothly stated. Vitus often envied how easily the words slipped out of his beak. If only it was as easy for him. Ruby-centered eyes focused on the bird, the smallest of smiles creeping onto blue features. "You enjoyed today's little outing, didn't you?" Vitus nodded, confirming the bird's suspicions. "And now what?" The wolf shifted his gaze to the water he was now soaking in, indicating he had no further intentions for today other than sitting right here. "I see." And then the two fell silent.
