Vitus was covered in blood. His usually off-white underside was stained crimson, his jowls soaked in the sticky liquid. Tongue lolled out of his mouth as he panted, moving with haste for the hot springs. Anger abated for the moment, he found himself seeking after nothing more than a warm bath and a moment to relax. His heart was still beating fast from his most recent conquest as he slinked into the warm water, allowing it to wash over his underside. He chose a rather deep pool, one that he could sit in and it would still reach up around his upper chest just below his neck. He watched the blood dilute into the water, swirling like some macabre paint before disappearing altogether as the water overtook it. He breathed a contented sigh and allowed his figure to relax - to breathe.

Carlisle appeared in the corner of his eye, fluttering and finally landing on the earth not far away. "I've never much been a fan of water," the bird smoothly stated. Vitus often envied how easily the words slipped out of his beak. If only it was as easy for him. Ruby-centered eyes focused on the bird, the smallest of smiles creeping onto blue features. "You enjoyed today's little outing, didn't you?" Vitus nodded, confirming the bird's suspicions. "And now what?" The wolf shifted his gaze to the water he was now soaking in, indicating he had no further intentions for today other than sitting right here. "I see." And then the two fell silent.

Bacchus was usually found in the hot springs, of the two territories that made up Fiori he enjoyed this place the most. The surrounding forests and the hot water (as well as the one cool pool he'd found during the summer.) Today he had actually found himself laying in the pools for the majority of the day. He didn't feel like adventuring and Absinthe was off doing something. He couldn't deny how independent she'd become now that she had a full belly and a family again. It made him happy to know how well she was doing.

Bacchus was sunk rather low in a deeper pool, his features barely visible over the water when he heard paw steps approaching. Slowly Bacchus would recover from his slumber like stupor in time to hear a voice he hadn't recognized. Perking his ears and slipping to the edge of the pool he'd lift himself up enough to take in sight of his brother and a bird. "Rough day?" He'd ask softly over the sound of running water, he hadn't quite made it back to his fully conscious state. The waters were all too relaxing, especially in contrast to the icy weather beyond the pols limits.

The cold didn't honestly bother him, and it would only be as his body warmed from the heat of the springs that he would notice how cold he had been previously. He hadn't noticed his brother, either, who was lying rather placidly in a nearby pool. His head swiveled to eye his larger sibling, noting that he looked rather drowsy. Had he fallen asleep in the water? He gazed for a moment more, ears pricking at Bacchus' simple query. His eyes shifted to Carlisle, who's voice would be the next one heard by cobalt ears. "He's been massacring rabbits, so not too rough I suppose." Vitus allowed his upper lip to tense and pull up slightly, revealing his longer canines in a toothy grin. His tongue slipped out of slightly gapped teeth and swiped across his lips before he settled back into his usual unreadable mask. "What about you, Bacchus?" It hadn't taken Carlisle long at all to learn Vitus' brother's names. Names and faces were two things he truly enjoyed learning. Vitus lifted to all four paws, pausing for a moment before climbing out of his pool and into the one where his brother was soaking. Carlisle followed suit and found a new perch on a closer tree. Vitus set his two tone gaze upon his brother once more, clearly interested in his company.

He'd achieve his brother's attention with relative ease, the other boy's ears would perk as he noticed the white marked brother. Bacchus quick inquiry wouldn't receive any words from his brother, instead the smaller Armada would look to the owl that lingered by. Bacchus's red gaze would fall upon the owl as he spoke, explaining the day they'd had. His name was Carlisle, and Bacchus still found it a bit odd how well he could speak for his litter mate. "Massacring rabbits," seemed like quite a good time. Vitus would only further prove the bird's point as he grinned over at Bacchus. The taller boy couldn't help but smile back amusedly. "Take me with you next time?" The question would be returned to him by the night hunter, though he'd almost gotten used to how well it knew their names he still jumped slightly at the question. "Been lazing here all day, trained pretty hard against a tree yesterday." The soreness in his muscles still lingered. While trees were not particularly fast, he had run around it about a million times.

His brother wanted to go with him? The toothy smile widened as he now settled in the pool that Bacchus was in, noting just how small he felt alongside his larger kin. He nodded once, affirming that he definitely would consider inviting his brother along next time - though usually when he slaughtered things he wasn't really in the mood for company. That didn't mean he couldn't do it while he was happy, though. Surely that would be a good way for brothers to bond.

His brother mentioned training against a tree, and Vitus' ears pricked with interest. His father had mentioned training with trees, though honestly Vitus didn't know how that could be any sort of fun. Trees didn't bleed, after all. Besides, trees didn't fight back, or run, or anything that he knew of. He tilted his head at a forty-five degree angle, trying to convey his confusion at his brother's statement. The bird couldn't read his mind, but quickly deduced that he wanted to know more. He always wanted to know more. "Trained against a tree?" Vitus nodded that that was indeed his question.
