Nouveau Parfum
It had taken too long, much too long to flee the life she had once led. A part of Estelle knew that in part was thanks to her newest hardship, one that still gave her troubles… such as is it did now. With a growl the girl stumbled back from the rock she had been attempting to climb on top of. She nearly lost her balance but managed to swing front paws back down to earth before she tumbled over. Merde! She thought to herself as she was forced to limp around the stone to try and find a better way to climb up its surface. Hardly even an hour in these new lands and she was already struggling without her siblings… not that they could help her at home, at least not openly. That was the disadvantage to being the “perfect” progeny… no matter how much you wanted to you couldn’t disgrace yourself by associating with the runt. But that of course was the reason she had managed to run, no one cared where she went or when she came back so it was easy to slip away. She had managed to talk to Soleil before leaving and she knew her sister would pass her message off to her siblings though their parents would hopefully not hear of it. Seeing a small dip in the stone’s side the girl bunched her muscles, leaping at the rock in an attempt to put paws on the dip’s surface. She had miscalculated though, and while her front paws clung to the rough surface she hadn’t managed to get hit anything but air with her hind paw. Scrambling frantically the yearling finally managed to pull herself up and she crawled on the top of the rock; where she promptly flopped onto her side. Estelle was panting and her front legs ached but at least she was off of the snowy ground. |

The girl rolled on her perch, covering herself with a light dusting of snow. For a moment the yearling lay on her side listening, scenting the cool winter air. Lids slid open as she smelled the stranger; Estelle rose into a sitting position turquoise gaze scanning for the unknown male. She was oblivious to any thoughts the boy might have about avoiding socialization instead she was suddenly overwhelmed by her own emotions… This was the first wolf in these new lands that she had ever met and that in itself was exciting but it was also scary… She wasn’t on equal footing with most wolves, she was beneath them; or at least that’s what she had always been told. Fixing the stranger with an intent stare Estelle finally spoke. "Salut!" She lowered her gaze as she drew attention to herself, ducking her head and pulling ears back slightly, her tail wagged weakly as she held a submissive pose. It was only after the words had left her mouth did it occur to her that the wolves here might not speak her tongue… she knew only a little English but not quite enough to hold intelligent conversation and she certainly didn’t know any other languages. Well now she just had one more thing to worry about. |
