Sora wasn’t sure where she was, she had wandered past the big stones while chasing an insect. When next she looked up she was here, the den where she and her family slept was nowhere in sight nor was any of the big stones. Sora wasn’t exactly afraid but she wasn’t relaxed either this was strange territory, she would look to the river it was starting to crack after the winter. But the snow wasn’t as willing to leave it was still high enough that her paws fully sank into it. There were trees hovering over the stream providing shade, the pup would walk over to one of them and sit down by the trunk to look around. She could find her way home eventually she was sure of it, but which way to start.

It wasn't often that the scent of a another would pique his interest, let alone that of a child. But it was rare to find a child so young without their parents, and he felt some sort of empathy - though he likely would not admit it out loud. Frowning a bit, his paws would carry him down the creek, searching for the source of the scent. Though he was nearing the age of two years, and his appearance was that of an adult, he still felt helplessly young. His brows furrowed as the girl came into view, a bit of concern shining in his crimson eyes. Despite spring's arrival, some snow still dotted the earth and the child was padding through it. Though she was alone, she didn't seem upset, and he would tilt his head a bit as he drew closer. "You lost?" Steel would ask quietly, from a distance, not wanting to startle the girl.

The girl’s ears would perk as she heard a voice asking if she was lost, she looked around trying to find the source of the question. It was a tall man whose pelt was made up of mainly dark tones, she would stand up to face him. He was a good distance away from her that she wasn’t scared of him, had her mother been here she probably would have stepped between the two of them and told Sora to go back home. But that wasn’t the case, she was in fact interested in talking to a wolf who wasn’t a part of her family. She would take a small step towards the man before speaking, “Not really, I can find my way back home one way or another.”

The child looked quite fearless as he approached her. It was very likely that he was being the more hesitant one, though it was not necessarily out of fear. Steel's brows would furrow, casting his crimson gaze upon her as she began to speak.  "Okay," he began carefully. He highly doubted that her parents would approve - but who knew if she even had parents? He had lived a slightly atypical childhood himself and it wouldn't strike him as completely unbelievable if someone else had, too. Though he wondered if perhaps it was just wishful thinking.. For a moment longer he watched her, head tilting to the side. "Gotta be careful, though," he drawled quietly, eying the creek. "Do you know how to swim? It'd be dangerous if you fell in.." It was rare for him to show concern for others, though he'd been captivated by Faria's atypical beauty.. and children struck a chord in his heart that he hadn't realized he'd even had until now.
