It almost seemed like she spent more days out of Threar than in these days. Now that she knew every inch of Threar's teritory she easily got bored. She constantly needed a challenge or at least something to do. Besides that, if she was going to find new herbs to learn about she was going to have to venture out into other kinds of landscapes where different kinds of herbs would grow.

Luckily she had been out this way before so the moment she heard the water crashing against rocks she knew to give the cliff a wide berth. Life was a dangerous game when you couldn't see where you were going. It made her think back to one of the first days she was in Alacritis and she chuckled softly to herself. It was amazing how things could change in such a short time.

She paused and turned her face toward the cliff, listening to the waves that were sure to be far below. She carefully padded forward toward the sound while being sure to feel with her paws for each step. After several tenative steps she got to the very edge of the cliff. She took one step back from there, just to be safe, and then smiled a little as the cool breeze coming off the ocean and up the cliff face ruffled her coat.

Áki was positively thrilled since reuniting with his sisters - and how could he not be? It was baffling that they had chosen to come look for him, and to know that they were in these lands with him was enough to keep his spirit soaring. Even though they were near, though, it didn't stop from wandering as he always had. With spring's arrival he found prey growing more and more frequent, and he found himself returning to areas he had been to before in hopes of finding food.

The cliffs were not likely to harbor much prey, but he knew they offered the sight of the ocean below. There was no chance he'd be eating anything that came from the sea, but perhaps he could scout the lands behind him from the cliff side. Moving quickly up the incline, he panted heartily from the physical activity combined with the warmth of the spring sun.

Now this - this was living.

Only when the familiar scent of another reached his nostrils would his attention shift, from the land and sky beyond him, to sweep across the cliff side instead. The source of the scent was mystery for a moment, despite its familiarity, but when he saw her he remembered quickly who the female was. Pleased with his accidental find, he quickened his pace, not bothering to mask the loud sounds of his pawsteps. "Miss Kalli," he greeted with a soft chuckle. "It is strange to me that a blind woman is so attracted to such dangerous places.."

For once Kalliope wasn't paying strict attention to the area around her, instead letting herself enjoy the cool breeze and the sound of the ocean for a moment. However she wasn't so distanced from the world around her not to notice the sound of pawsteps coming up behind her. Her ears perked and her head quickly turned toward the noise, a little more jumpy than she intended to be, but once she caught the male's familiar scent she immediately calmed down again. Her run in with that man in the woods had made her a bit more wary of strangers, but she knew she had nothing to worry about with Áki. A grin stretched across her muzzle at his comment and she turned around to face him, taking a few steps away from the cliff's edge for both of their comfort. "What can I say? I like to live dangerously."

She chuckled and settled on her haunches with her tail brushing against the ground behind her. This chance meeting was certainly a surprise, but a pleasant one. She remembered the last time she saw him, almost walking off a cliff, this exact cliff now that she thought about it, in her attempts to learn her way around Alacritis. She liked to think she had grown quite a bit since then. "How have you been, Áki? Oh! Did your sister ever find you? Sabbine, right? I ran into her a little while back, not too long after I met you."

If he'd been approaching Sabine, he would've been quite tempted to sneak up on her. He knew with certainty that she would not be startled enough to be sent over the edge of the cliff, and even imagining her fiery reaction to his trick was enough to make him grin. Kalli, however, he didn't know as well.. and he'd had enough nightmares of wolves falling over cliffs for one lifetime - after not only having to steer this woman away from the cliff, but Kyung too when he'd been close to jumping. His approach, instead, he would make no effort to silence though he wouldn't try to over-accentuate the sounds of his pawsteps either.

A hearty laugh escaped his throat at Kalli's statement.  "A life full of danger is a life worth living, I think," he would agree with her sentiment quickly. Perhaps some liked to live safely within packs, to settle down and have pups and to die among those they had known since birth, but Áki was not one of those wolves and he knew he never would settle for such a life.

"I've been well," he answered her, head tilting as he moved a bit closer, perched a good few meters from the cliff but letting his gaze linger briefly on the far horizon.  "They did find me. I am lucky my sisters like me enough to come looking for me." Honestly, he hadn't thought he'd see them again so soon - though he knew the routes that their family traveled far north, and he had been confident he would return to them someday. But sooner than someday worked just as well for him. His tail would swat the ground behind him.  "And what about you, Kalli? Survive the winter without causing any avalanches?" Perhaps she was not as open to such playful banter about her blindness, but he supposed he would find out.. though he knew Sabine would much rather be teased for her lack of sight from her brother than receive pity for it.

Kalli chuckled as he agreed with her need for danger in her life. She had chosen to live in a pack just so she could safely live in one spot long enough to learn her way around and not have to worry about accidently walking off of cliffs, but that by no means meant she wanted to stay within the pack borders all hours of the day. He went on to tell her that his sisters did indeed find him and she gave him a pleased smile. She chuckled at his comment on them loving her and she added, "They certainly do love you, at least enough to start asking complete strangers if they've seen you. I'm glad they found you."

She gave a little snort of laughter and grinned at his comment about her causing avalanches. "I only caused a couple little ones this year! I'm improving!" She chuckled at her own humor before giving a little shake of her head, "No, no avalanches. I joined a pack called Threar before the winter started so I wasn't able to get into too much trouble. I still can't decide if I like pack life all that much, but at least there's always someone around to make sure I don't fall into any holes or go tumbling off cliffs." She shrugged and chuckled again, finding that laughter came easily when she was around Áki.

"Maybe I'll just follow you around and you can make sure I don't get into trouble instead," she joked with a smirk. While it was completely a joke she couldn't say the idea wasn't tempting. She didn't know how she was ever going to visit the rest of Alacritis without some sort of guide. She had always considered herself very independent, to the point of being highly offended if anyone ever thought otherwise, but she knew that if she tried to go continent traveling on her own it would either take her an entire year to do so or she'd end up in some kind of deadly trouble. If some natural formation didn't get her she was sure some evil doing wolf would. She didn't have the size Aki and his siblings had to keep predators at bay and she definitely wasn't a strong fighter.

Something about Kalliope's blindness was comforting, in a strange sense. Perhaps it was because she reminded him so much of Sabine, not just for this small detail but in her general personality. Or maybe just because he felt a certain awe in the fact that she survived without something he considered so basic to his own existence. It was impressive, though not necessarily something he would admit out loud.

He laughed softly at her words, his head shaking. "I suppose I'm lucky," the brute would begin. "For standing out enough that they can simply ask if they've seen me." He wondered, briefly, if Kalliope had identified him by anything other than by name. Another laugh would escape his throat at her joke, his tail wagging behind him in amusement. The talk of a pack was a bit surprising, and he would tilt his head curiously - though he moved to take a few slow steps closer.

"I see," he commented gently, plainly - giving little indication as to how he felt about it, only a mere understanding. "Safety is a good thing," he noted gently, nodding slowly again. "Though.. I am happy to sacrifice all possibility of safety for a life of adventure." Perhaps it was a different thing for her; though she knew Sabine would be inclined to agree with him. His voice held a hint of playful jest. "Think you could keep up with me?" A playful question, but a careful one - almost as though he was testing how far he could tease her, not wanting to actually be offensive.

Kalliope actually forgot sometimes what sorts of physical features other wolves have, even if they've described them to her before and even if they're very distinctive features like Áki. When he mentioned standing out so much it took her a brief moment to remember what he was talking about. One would think that she could easily remember someone being huge and having tusks, but it was so far out of the realm of what she knew others buy that she hardly thought about it. She recognized him by his scent, voice and personality, not his size or odd facial features. They were easy identifiers, sure, but that wasn't what first came to mind for her. It made her wonder how others remembered her by. Was she the sassy, stubborn wolf or was she the blind, peach colored wolf when others described her?

"Adventure is no fun by yourself though," she responded. She knew what he meant by not wanting to trade safety for adventure. It had been something she had struggled with a lot before finally making the decision to join Threar. "Well, at least it isn't for me. What good is visiting a new place when no one is around to describe what it looks like to me?" She grinned a little and chuckled, trying to play off how lonely and frightening it really could be at times being somewhere completely new and blind. Back home she could travel around no problem, but that was only because her adopted siblings or her father had gone with her first to describe it all to her. Once she knew what to expect she could easily go back to these places and not have to worry about walking off a cliff. Unfortunately Alacritis was much, much larger than her old home and held a lot more obstacles than she felt like she could figure out on her own. But her pride wouldn't exactly let her ask for help either so that left her stuck to a small area.

To his question she scoffed and shot him a grin. "I think you should be more concerned about keeping up with me, Áki." In reality she knew she could keep up with him, but that was about it. Of course her over confident pride made her much more boastful than she really deserved to be, but it also played well with their banter. Her ivory tipped tail flicked behind her thoughtfully before curling around her haunches again.

It said a lot about Kalli, that she had survived thus far without her sight. She was strong and independent, and obviously stubborn, though he had yet to tell if she was as stubborn as Sabine. Though it was something he knew he shouldn't focus on so much, it was still curious to him - even if he wouldn't dare vocalize these thoughts.

She stated that adventuring wasn't fun alone. He would shrug, instinctively, despite knowing she couldn't see him. Still, he understood her point. "True," he acknowledged gently. "Though certainly you can gather a good bit of information about the land without seeing it, from its scent and your paws?" Hell, even the way that sound bounced off of various landscapes could tell something about the land, though he knew with certainty it was easier to just be able to see things. It was understandable that it might be easier for her to stay in a pack for now. He wondered if it was a choice he might ever make, if something left him unable to safely survive on his own. Certainly it had helped her through the winter, a time when survival was paramount and injuries were obtained easily. Despite his quip about avalanches, it was a very real possibility - and he wouldn't be joking about it if such a thing had happened to her.

"Oh yeah?" he would grin at her comment, laughter audible in his voice. "I know I'm big, but that doesn't mean I'm that slow..." a hearty chuckle left his lips as he moved away from her. "If you're so insistent, though, we could always race..."
