So he and Fate would be paired in a spar. It was exciting news to Félicien who thoroughly enjoyed time with his cousin. He would grin, shooting the younger one a challenging look, all in fun. "Looks like you got your request." He would say in a light, teasing tone. He would move away from where Frith and the others were gathered, giving him and Fate a bit of area to begin their spar. He would lower his head to align it with his spine, his eyes shining some with a bright light. He was excited, as well as a bit nervous. Fighting wasn't his strongest point... but for Tac he had to get better.

Determination set he would begin to set up his defenses for the spar that was to come. His legs were spread, stance widened and weight distributed evenly across his form limbs. Toes were spread as well, claws biting into the soil in readiness. Ears would lay flat against his skull, neck aligned with his spine. Shoulders were rolled forward, eyes narrowed in the usual defensive manner. Hackles were raised, tail tucked beneath his body. He was ready, and he would tuck his chin as a last defensive measure as he spoke to Fate. "First move is yours, Fate"

"Listen to me talk," 'but read my thoughts.'

Horrah for 3rd fight post ever, and first one for Fate!

His first spar! How exciting! The young Destruction child was bubbling with excitement as he decided to take his first fight training with a matter of seriousness. His fiery orange eyes focused on Félicien, who was a brother to him regardless of parentage, as the older man offered him the first move. “Promise me you won’t go easy on me. I have got to learn by facing the real thing.” The boy said in a coy manner before his face turned to an impassive state. Quickly the boy would examine his cousin and plot out his moves before making them. He rushed towards the other Destruction child with his teeth bared, though not overly threatening as it was a spar for training, not a full on fight for dominance or the likes.

Quickly the boy would sidestep to the left during his rush, aiming a bite for Félicien’s right shoulder while also attempted to slam his paw down on the man’s right paw. At the same time, he would try to throw his weight towards the man to slam his right shoulder into his cousin’s center chest. He wasn’t entirely sure where these moves came from, perhaps he had learned it from watching the mule deer fight for dominance or how other wolves stalked and took down prey.

He would let his defenses fall into line as his knees bent to lower him closer to the ground as a means to lower center of gravity to provide stability whilst scrunching his neck to protect it. His toes would splay to further stability while they dug into the ground to give him a solid base. He would give a friendly-ish snarl, as this was a spar (which he had to remind himself of) and not a fight. His ears would slide back as his tail tucked to provide less mass of a target for Félicien to try and hold onto. If Félicien couldn’t reach his ears or tail, that meant a more limited option of targets. Right? Fate just hoped his strategy worked.

Fate vs. Félicien - Round 1 of 2 for SPAR

Damages: First Round/None

Attacks: Attempted bite to Félicien’s right shoulder; Attempted slam to Félicien’s right paw; Attempted slam with Fate's right shoulder into Félicien’s chest.

Luck had been a little late to the spar. When she arrived, Fate had already made his first move, his big form tangling up with Felicien. Luck watched with wide blue eyes, and she moved back, sitting a good several feet away from the two boys and lying down in the soft grass. She didn't plan on becoming a fighter like her brother did. The girl was more into hunting than anything else. Herbs were too boring, and fighting was too...well, violent. Hunting was right there in the middle. Plus, she had a pretty small build, and was swift when she needed to be. It was the perfect plan! But it'd be just her luck if she turned out a fighter, or maybe a student in the medical field.

"Go, Fate! Go, go, go!" She yapped from the corner, her feathery tail thumping at the ground playfully as the boys continued to spar. Sitting here, she decided to be his little cheerleader. To be supportive and to help him feel more confident in what he was doing. Besides, what else did she have to do? Just watching these two wrestle and bark was no fun if you didn't add a little hype to it!

NOTE:: Muscle Reference Chart For Attacks

Félicien might have been avoided, but that was fine. The young man would not be shaken, focusing on keeping his defenses in line. Ears were pinned, eyes were narrowed. Neck was aligned with his spine. Jaws were parted, lips snarling, as he moved into a counter move against his cousin. Spar or not this was serious business. Training today could be what saved your butt in a fight tomorrow. His cousin had sidestepped to his left, Félicien’s right, and the young man would push his body towards the right into his cousin’s jaws in hopes that when he bit down he would get them bruised.

Blood welled up from where Fate’s bite landed either way; upon his upper deltoid brachioradialis {see notes for muscle reference.} His opponents fangs sank in at least half an inch, a moderate bite wound. While he came at Fate the golden man would lift his right foreleg higher, barely missing the pawstomp as he sought to shove his forepaw into the other boy’s right pectoralis {See notes again.} His weight would be distributed across his remaining three legs as he did so. Finally Félicien would aim to give a bite of his own, reaching for his cousin’s scuff. His own shoulders remained rolled forward, his hackles raised along his body. Tail would flag out behind him in a banner. His legs remained in a widened stance overall, to aid with his balance, as did his toes.

Félicien was excited. This was the most fun in a spar he had in forever!

Success! Fate had claimed his prize as he landed his bite into his cousin’s shoulder, though his paw slam had not hit it’s mark. Quickly, Fate looked to rebalance himself when his attack failed and Félicien’s paw rose up high to avoid it. Fate would grin as he tried to throw his weight towards the man who was now on three paws instead of all four. As he made his attempt at a counter attack, he shifted more to his side to protect his lower right chest from his cousin’s attempted slam. He felt a paw hit his upper right shoulder and his jaws clenched. He felt pain from it, and he knew it would bruise, but it should not be too bad, moderate bruising at most. His cousin made a grab for his scruff and while Fate tried to adjust to get his body out of reach, he failed as his cousin bit into his scruff, leaving puncture wounds an inch deep.

While his attacks were happening, he was adjusting his stance. His toes would dig into the ground to hold him still as his knees bent to give him further control of his movements. His hackles and haunches were both raised as he let out a snarl from deep in the back of his throat, trying to sound intimidated. He kept his tail beneath him again, to continue to have a minimal body mass to get hit at. His fur bristled slightly along his spine and he scrunched up his neck to further protect it, lowering his head slightly as a further precaution. He would try to bite at his cousin’s front left leg near the top where the leg met the base of the body.

Félicien’s forepaw would hit Fate’s right fore chest before the shoulder, connecting with enough force that would leave some moderate bruising. As he brought his leg down Félicien would make an attempt to dig his claws in and scratch his cousin’s chest. Fate seemed to abandon his hold upon Féli’s right upper leg, closer to his shoulder and behind the chest. The other also tried to adjust out of reach, but Félicien managed to get his hold anyway, landing at the base of the middle of the scruff aligned with the spine.

The three legs he stood on balanced his weight, bending at the knees as he brought his remaining leg down. He would not be moved, set solidly in the earth, claws biting the soil, as the smaller male pushed into him. Ears remained pinned against his skull, eyes narrowed into mere slits. Tail was flagged behind his body, lips peeled back and snarling as he sunk in his hold deeper. Shoulders were rolled forward, braced against the attack of his cousin, and muscles were tense. Hackles were raised as well, giving Félicien more of a buffer from any bites on the upper part of his body.

However Fate would not aim high, but rather lower again. This time he attacked the left foreleg, near where his leg met his body. His cousin’s jaws would sink into the delicate bit of flesh where his chest connected with his leg, and Félicien would snarl in response into his cousin’s scruff. The fangs must have sunk in an inch, causing moderate pain and blood to well up from where they punctured.

Tightening his grip on his cousin’s scruff Félicien would hold himself in place, attempting to shake his cousin violently back and forth to tear into the flesh and worsen the punctures that were already there.

FELI
Moderate lacerations to shoulder – 2 OOC weeks
Moderate bruise to chest - 1 OOC weeks
Moderate lacerations to left foreleg – 2 OOC weeks

Notes:

Tips for writing and some suggestions. (no points are deducted here):

BOTH
Watch the defenses!! Wolves claws are not that sharp, you cannot cut through flesh that easily. They also aren’t that powerful, they can’t punch the way a human can so just hitting your paw against someone’s chest is not going to cause severe bruising.

TOOTH
Watch defenses. It’s best if they are BEFORE your attacks so you don’t give your opponent a window to your vitals. Also follow through with your attacks. If you have a grip you must say what you do with it. Be clear where you’re going and realistic with your damage and movements.

KENO
You have to make your counters very clear as they are naturally very confusing. Also watch for any PP, attempt your movements and keep an eye on where your opponent says your attack landed because…that’s where it landed, there’s really no changing it.
