The forest was unnaturally quiet, which caused her paw steps to seem unnaturally loud. With every foot fall Lærke would cringe away from the sound, and her hackles refused to rest. The trees here were tall and vast and overrun with spring growth, but there was so little light. The pestilent vines that had overtaken this grove seemed to have all of life in a tight grip. There were few birds, and almost no wind within the cage she'd found herself. She could not bring herself to call out for her wayward brother either, because the thought of breaking a silence so strong, nigh sacrosanct, was unbearable. Instead she sighed and continued her trek, one overly obvious step at a time.

She found respite in a small clearing. One titanic oak had fallen, suffocated at last by the vines. The splay of it's roots could be seen at the far side, and in it's wake sunlight streamed back into the forest. Undergrowth and burst forth into life, filling the crater where roots had once sat. Somewhere amongst the branches a jay was calling out, alerting whatever else might be around that a predator had arrived. She scoffed and dropped her head back to the ground, checking the clearing perimeter for any sign of another, her brother or otherwise. Yes, the clearing was quite pretty, but she had a job to do. Until Lyndvarr was found, there would be no time to stop and enjoy the sights.

LORD, I AM CLIMBING HIGH MOUNTAINS TRYING TO GET HOME
Trying to get home...

Lyndvarr marched proudly south, continuing his search for his aunt. The herbs he'd taken from that foolish old man were tucked safely in their little hideaway in the battlefield. He could make far better use of them. Lyndvarr had no idea how long he'd been walking. He just picked a direction and kept going until he ended up in a place of strange beauty and even strangers quiet. Taking a deep breath Lyndvarr slipped through thick grapevine and into a clear where tall trees stretched to the skies with a canopy of the vines forming overhead. What in the world….

As he moved delicately through the clearing he caught the sound of another moving, turning his heart leapt. "Lærke!" he barked. Grinning he trotted over to meet her. "Jeg ser vi hatt samme idé… Har du funnet noe?"
