Can You See What I See?

The pup sat beside the waterfall that was connected to her homeland. Ever since the incident with the mountain lion, she had not been able to see anything. The young dame had to rely on all her other senses in order to stay focused and alive in this unforgiving world, such things making her somewhat depressed. However, Annette still had her lips stretched into a smile and seeing that there was always good in the world, even if it was only just a little bit.
The sound of the waterfall reverberated throughout her lobes, her ears twitching slightly and trying to make out the other sounds so that no one could sneak up and hurt her. Her eyes closed as she focused and listened to the land surrounding her. Crows and other birds called out their rambunctious melodies, and, such things made her wish she could scare them away. Though, how would she seem more terrifying when she couldn't even see an inch in front of her face?

Since finding his sibling alive and well, Spencer had been sticking close to the area she had been staying within. Today however, the man decided he would take some time to head out and explore, to relax his mind now that he wasn't constantly worrying over whether she was alive or not. And that took him on a journey to the southern lands, a wild and very interesting place.
One of the places he had been lingering in a little longer than he planned, grey paws carrying along a calm river. Green eyes swept back and forth across the water, lips pulling in a smile as he spotted a young buck getting a drink then fled into the trees once the wolf was spotted. Spencer would trek on, taking a deep breath of the crisp air, feeling light, as if he could sprout wings and just fly off.

Annette walked throughout her parent's territory, eyes focused upon the trees and different shubbery; however, the young couldn't see a thing. Sadness would well up inside of her, but she sighed and sat down, hanging her head low slightly. How she wished she could see the landscape once again. A small whimper would escape from her vocal region. Every time, it would seem that the entire world had been trying to test her multiple times. She had always gotten herself messed up in bad situations, the worse being with the mountain lion. Annette knew that she should have stayed home where her family was, but, her efforts had been short lived when she had tried to outrun the lion, causing her to recieve the gashes across her face. It was a miracle that she was still alive.
She pinned back her ears when she happened to hear the sound of someone approaching. Her other senses were on full alert since her vision was out of commission. The smell of a wolf, a male who seemed to be much older than she, caught her attention. She pulled her ears back and gave a small growl, knowing that she was still young, but, if she was going to be attacked, she might as well act that she knew what she was doing. Though, she was worried that he would kill her without holding back.

Continuing along the river Spencer would catch something in the air. At first his nose picked up the scent of another wolf nearby, and secondly he could hear something, growling? It was enough to make the man stop, head lifting high so he could look around more closely. Green eyes narrowed when they swept over some rocks and noticed a young wolf, the source of the growls. She looked no older than a few months old, not quite a yearling but could be in just a short bit of time. But what he noticed more so were the marks over her eyes, an injury that didn't look too old.
"Hello there." He spoke up, keeping his voice low and gentle, not wanting to frighten the young female away and possibly hurt herself. "My name is Spencer, are you okay little one?" He asked sweetly, taking a few small steps forward. "I'm not going to hurt you, just moving a little closer/" He gave her a heads up to what he was doing, that way she wouldn't think he was trying to sneak up really close and maybe even attack her.

Annette soon heard the voice of the man of whom she had smelt the scent of. The smell of his earthy musk made her nostrils flare up slightly, but she paid no heed and nodded her head in reply. How the dame's father would react to have another male on his territory after what had happened to both her and her sister, she was not sure about that as of yet. However, her eyes would focus on where she assumed the male's eyes were, nodding her head in reply.
"Sorry to have growled at you, Sir. I have been hurt when i was not paying attention, I don't want my guard to be down again now," she replied, walking over to the stream. When she was sure that she could hear the water more clearly, she sat down, her tail wrapped around her haunches and bent down to get a drink from the water before bringing her head back up. "My name is Annette, by the way," she explained, giving a small smile.

Though the girl could not see it, Spencer shook his head when she apologized. Green eyes had settled on her, immediately noticing the wounds over her eyes and so saw no reason for her reacting in such a manner. She had a reason, allowed to growl or flee if she sensed a presence with unknown plans. He remained where he stood when the yearling moved towards the stream, sitting and getting a drink before giving her name with a smile. Well, at least she was still able to smile even after whatever happened to her was over, not dwelling and falling into depression like so many others do.
”No need to apologise Miss Annette.” He said in a warm tone, moving towards the stream, paws dragging along the ground so that she could tell where he was. ”Perfectly understandable.” Taking a seat near her he would also lean down and get a short drink, licking his lips and smiling towards her. ”You look young, where is your family?” He would ask curiously, keeping his tone gentle, trying not to upset her intentionally if something had happened to her parents which caused her to be alone and with such injuries.
