The reaper had high tailed it from the caverns beneath the earth as soon as he'd finished catching up with his sister. She had told him to follow her to this man...a man who Diablo did not know, but if his sister trusted the other male then Diablo could trust him too. He didn't entirely think about decisions on his own, his sister usually told him what to do, but this time he wasn't inclined to joining up with a pack right off the bat. He had just gotten to these lands! He wanted to explore and see who there was around here he could munch on...figuratively, of course. Crazed viper gaze scanned the undergrowth as he loped into the forest. It was cold and chilly here, the air outside this lifeless place warmer, but in here it chilled his bones and that's the way he liked it. His lumbering gait was quite the racket, the beast not caring about the sound he produced as he trotted along. Head twitched now and then as he gazed at each different path, some scents lingering about while others were stale. He hoped he'd find someone soon, otherwise he'd have to label this place boring when it looked oh so fun. "Speech"

She hadn't ventured far from the pack. She rarely did when she was in heat, even though it made her restless and eager to get out and do something dangerous, like chasing buffalo or cliff diving. She was foremost a survivor, always had been and always would be, so she figured the best way to keep surviving was to ignore how much the hormones messed with her instincts and keep to herself without someone like Valen around to be something of a voice of reason. Though hey, maybe she could convince him to go do something fun and crazy with her after all. Being an alpha and a father didn't mean he couldn't play anymore, and having her best friend there would just make everything so much more fun... it was a thought. For now she was satisfying her restlessness by exploring the dark, foggy, mucky forest that bordered Imperium. It had once upon a time been haunted by some creepy weirdo, apparently, but Cascade had never seen any sign of her despite the horror stories passed around. Disappearing loners, that sort of thing. The sort of ghost story you could never quite confirm because it always happened to some drifter without a name who wouldn't be able to be found even if it weren't true. But it was enough to make it a thrill to explore the lands anyway. Ooooo would the boogie man jump out and get you? Her ears twitched with a sort of alarmed interest when a sudden crashing of underbrush interrupted her exploration. She froze in place, her ears and eyes straining through the foggy forest to see who - what - might be approaching her. Though adrenaline raised the hair on her back (she had just been trying to spook herself with ghost stories after all) she stood her ground, and her head was tilted with excited curiosity. Ghost stories weren't real, so she knew she was setting up to be disappointed by whoever appeared, but the thrill would be fun while it lasted anyway. ""

A flash of movement caught the mans eye, a rabbit scurried beneath his paws as it fled from the bush it had been hiding from. With a wicked grin he gave immediate chase, though it would be short lived as the creature dove into a hole somewhere behind him. Pouting, he growled at this unfortunate event. He would have loved to snatch it up and toy with it, oh well...time to find some sort of other entertainment. As he turned away with an exasperated sigh, low and behold he would spy something through the undergrowth and trees. A curious tilt of his head brought him lumbering towards her, the creature emerging from the thick brush yet blended nicely with his surroundings. "As darkness falls...and shadows gloom...here comes one, to meet her doom." He uttered under his breath. He stopped a couple of yards from the dark hued woman, she appeared to be apprehensive, and for good reason he was sure. He remained in the darkness of the shadows, all that would be visible were his glowing amber orbs and the glow of his teeth as his laughter filled the air. The boogeyman had arrived. "Hello there, darling." "Speech"

Oh that was a disappointment. The creature who spoke from the shadows was nothing more than a wolf, just a leering young male who thought it was funny to play games. Well, scent didn't lie little buddy, and to the best of her knowledge ghosts didn't stink like little puppies. "Hello back, darlin'," she drawled, unruffled by the voice now that she'd identified it as not a ghost - and rather miffed by that fact, really. "Afraid to show your face are you? Poor little dear." Throwing her ears forward in an aggressively cheerful manner, she stepped forward, toward the shadows rather than away. After all, she was as comfortable in the shadows as she was the light, wasn't she? "Going to jump out and say 'boo' now?" ""

So she'd spotted him, and she wasn't afraid. How courageous. She was a witty one too, her response bringing an amused grin to his face as his mouth widened slightly in a smile. He shook his head, fur ruffling (and possibly shaking off a few fleas), he gazed back up at her with unguarded curiosity. She was a pretty one, her aura didn't seem very...nice, but nice was boring after all. "I'm not the one afraid of ghosts." He rumbled, baritone voice full of amusement. She had appeared to be apprehensive, perhaps even a little scared of something earlier, at least until he decided to come out. He watched her get closer, and in turn he slithered from the shadows to stand a few feet from her. "Boo is boring, I prefer chasing down those who fear...so you're lucky." His voice was not laced with anger, rather it was laced with heavy amusement. There were few he got along with, though it was still too early to tell if she would feed the side that killed. In a good way, of course. "And who is the woman who wanders the forest?" "Speech"

Cascade snorted at his words.

"So you think you can read me, do you?" She quirked a brow at him. Not offended that he would assume she was frightened, no... just amused. Sometimes it seemed like all these dark young wolves were the same, all bark and no substance, and it was beginning to bore her. Just one, one wolf who was different... who was interesting... whose mind she could be fascinated with as she delved into the depths of their darkness. These cookie cutter would-be villains didn't do it for her. "'The woman' is Cascade Saxe," she told him dryly, a hint of laughter burbling around the words. Tilting her head, she eyed his dark form as her eyes adjusted to the shadows that enveloped them. "And who is 'the boy' then?"

Oh, she knew that she was pushing her luck, taunting these so-called evil wolves. She knew eventually one wouldn't take her bullshit... but that was the thrill, wasn't it? Knowing that the string had to snap eventually. If you weren't risking something what was the point? Where was the fun? Safe was boring.
