A destination for everyone

Emerald eyes shined with appreciation as the she-wolf scanned the treetops, the evening sun flickering through the low branches. The blossoms were beautiful, and the growth was green and strong, despite the ashen floor. She could tell fire had been through the Redbud Nook at some point - she had seen the same in pack lands near the place she'd been born. Life always sprung back resiliently, but the forest held a distinct characteristic. The scent from the soil still smelled burnt, while the trees and shrubs were smaller than they should have been considering the old growth that surrounded this portion of the forest. Small prey was practically crawling under her claws, but she wasn't hungry right now, so those that crossed her path would live another day. She had eaten recently as the prey had grown quite plentiful since the turning of seasons. Deciding it was late enough in the day that she could rest, and she was honestly enjoying the scenery, Esarosa ceased her forward movement and sat near the base of a small tree, leaning against it. She took in a deep, relaxing breath, and allowed her limbs to rest. She felt the throb in her sore paws, but she knew it just meant she'd covered lots of ground, for which she was glad. She never wanted to stay in one place too long. She just wondered if there was anyone else here - being alone could be so boring sometimes, even if the scenery was lovely. |
