After the hunt and the pack was fed the girl needed to re-ensure how Bass was doing. She ensured the prey went to each member of the pack and that the youngest and injured got their share. This done, and Bass's pack mostly seen to she would seek him out. He was where she had left him, still slumped on the earth and her heart twisted at the sight of him. What was it that had struck him so hard? More mayhem to the pack after his challenge for a member that had left him injured for so long? Maybe it was the thought of failure, that he had failed that fight and now he was failing to stop this weather that was destroying their territory, or the death of a member that no one got to in time. They had all tried, had all worked together but no one could stop these bad things from happening, not even Bass, he had to understand that.

The Alpha girl made her way to her side, she didn't say a word but simply curled up about him, the brother she loved so much she had given up her freedom for him and found that this life was even better then the one she had left. When her coat was entwined with his she would rumble softly and soothingly deep in her throat like a mother might to comfort a child as she held him and wished she could get across the knowledge that everything would be alright.

He didn't feel alright though. He allowed his sister to curl around him, he didn't have much strength to deny her touch. Her soft sounds made his body relax into her, seeming to melt into her familiar form. Sniffling slightly he turned his head and buried it in her coat, taking in the wonderful smell that was his Motif. Sighing into her fur, he nosed himself even closer to her. His golden eyes closed shut, his breath fast as he tried to reassure himself. "Am I good enough?" He whispered, his white ears laying flat against his skull. He certainly didn't feel like the strong and proud alpha that he had been before. It seemed like Abaven couldn't catch a break, one thing after another shook his whole pack, and he felt himself beginning to crumble under all the pressure. Without Motif by his side his pack might have fallen with him, but by her smell they had been able to catch and feed the pack.

Bass didn't know what to do, or how to dig himself out of this rut that he was in. He knew that his pack needed him, that his family needed him. But he just felt... worthless. How could anyone care for an alpha who couldn't even keep all of his pack together? Another heart broken sigh made its way out of his maw, turning so that his body was facing Motif, his legs wrapping around her chocolate form. Nuzzling her neck, he waited for her to say something -- anything.

The girl felt Bass relax and would have given a sigh of relief, except she didn't want him to hear her worry. She just held him, and breathed softly, still rumbling a gentle purr in her throat that she hoped conveyed the message that he would be okay. He had always been there for her, this brother she had loved and changed her life for, it felt strangely but oddly right to be there for him now. He would turn his head into her coat and she gently licked the parts of her forehead that she could reach without moving. He would speak then, his words muffled by her coat. Insecurity from Bass didn't seem right, he had a confidence about him that had helped him pull this pack together, but she knew he didn't think as highly of himself as she did of him.

She smiled softly, ceasing her licking a moment to think. ?More then good enough, you always do what's right, and it was you who single handedly pulled this pack together. You fight the battles this world asks of you even when its against a superior force, you do it because its right. But you cant fight everything Bass, no one cans, that makes you human, no inadequate? she whispered softly, starting up her licking again. She had never been good with speeches and could only hope she had conveyed some of that deep respect she held for him.

Bass wrapped himself about her, and she held him as through she could hold him together by the force of her will. She soothed him with gentle licks and deep rumbling, and would stay here beside him for as long as he needed her. That was why she had joined in pack in the end wasn't it? Why she had fought and trained and practised? Because she was here to ensure he would alright, to ensure his dreams where met and to look out for him, her brother dear.
