Massive beast would head back to the kids den again, having taken Amarant yesterday and today he planned to take Colten. He didn't yet know what he planned to do but it seemed that the boys were happier apart rather then together, or at least that is what he had gathered from Ammy yesterday. Maybe it was just Amarant who was having issues with his brother, maybe it was both of them. Might be in his best interest to hear both sides of the storey. Again massive male would come to halt outside the den he had plunked the two boys in, head lowering so that he could peer inside. He wouldn't call this time, still trying to calm his raging mind. Instead he would let out a soft 'woof' calling to Colten before he would take a step back and wait for the boy. He wasn't excited to see this boy. Though his base pelt was different then his mothers the tail markings were almost identical. It hurt.

A woof would echo off the walls of his den, dragging his eyes open begrudgingly. A shadow stood at the entrance to his den, blocking out the already minimal amounts of sunlight that trickled in. Following the sound, his grandfathers scent would fill his den. A sigh would heave his sides. He was surprised to gone on alone for this long, but he knew that sooner or later he would have to spend time with someone. Russet limbs would pull beneath him, pushing up, bones popping and stiff muscles stretching with protest. Haphazardly he would shake out his pelt, doing little more than ruffling his fur. He was a mess. His pelt was matted and dirty, his eyes dull with lack of sleep, he had lost enough weight that his bones were visible beneath his thick pelt. But he didn't care.

With slow movements he would slip from his den, squinting against the harsh rays of the sun he was so unaccustomed to seeing. His gaze remained downcast, his head hung low, his tail doing the same. The sun felt pleasant against his skin, warming the perpetual cold he felt nowadays. He stood silent, his gaze not lifting to meet the man who ripped him from what would have surely been his own private hell. Honestly, he would live here than back in Secretua, he couldn't bare all the sights that wold undoubtedly remind him of his mother and the good times they all shared. Here, he could hide away in his den, lock himself away from the world and avoid all the pain and hurt that seemed to come with living.

The boy would come out of the den a moment later and Kylar's expression would drop, frowning as he sighed. Amarant hadn't spoken of his brother and Kylar had assumed something was off but this off? It seemed that the boy was taking things harder then his brother. Though from what Kylar had witnessed at their mothers death Kylar wondered if Amarant was still shunning his brother. "I think? You need a bath?." Kylar's voice was a low rumble, expression stern as to not leave any room for argument. He would frown, looking up to the sky. It was around noon, a fairly nice day maybe a bath in the creek would be in order. Kylar didn't especially feel like licking the boy clean after all. "Then maybe a hunt? Get some meat on your bones?" He asked, this time his words left some room for suggestions. He would turn, motioning for Colten to follow him and taking a few steps forward. He would continue if the boy followed, if not he would be forced to carry the boy and honestly he wasn't against it.

For a moment silence surrounded them. When his grandfather spoke, suggesting a bath, his shoulders would lift and drop. A shrug of acknowledgement. He would take a step forward, nodding noncommittally as a meal was suggested. Food. How long had it been since he had last had food? Paws would drag against the hard earth as he followed his grandfather to wherever it was that they were going. His tail dragged between his hocks, his gaze was downcast, glued to the ground, watching the shadow of his new guardian. His matted pelt was dull in the afternoon sun, his eyes even duller. A bath and food. Wasn't such a bad combination, but he'd rather be locked away in his den. Depression clung heavily to his bones, weighing him down. His brother hated him and shunned him. His mother was dead, never to return. His uncle had yet to come for them. Would his uncle ever come? Not that the russet boy had any intention of leaving.

He would hesitate a moment and Kylar would smile softly, head tipping as he studied the boy a moment. Kylar had every intention to drag the kid to the creek and bathe him himself if he needed to but he hoped that maybe he would have the good sense not to fight it. But then he would shrug, a non comital answer really in Kylars mind but then the boy would step forward and Kylar would nod in understand before taking the lead. Damn, this kid was even worse off this his brother. "If you ever want to talk?" Kylar would love to finish that sentence with saying he was a good listener but he wasn't and he didn't want to start their second conversation ever off with a lie. So he would leave the statement open, letting the boy take the reins if he wanted and if not then he would let them lapse into silence. He sucked at small talk. He would lead the way to the creek that bordered the plains, heading to a slower moving shallow pool that was created by a chunk of the bank that had fallen in. He would move to seat himself at the bank and motioned for the water. "Take your bath? You can do it or I can help?" A devious smirk would twist the edges oh his lips as he allowed the boy to make up his mind on his own.
