"Hey! You crazy girl, wait!"

The chipmunk's plaintive cries were ignored as the blue and grey wolf continued to move along aimlessly, her tail wagging and her nose pressed to the ground. Her eyes, a warm earthy brown, stared curiously about at the ground that she traveled over and out into the woods that she passed through, always scanning about as if on the lookout for something in particular. In fact, she had thought she had smelled something odd, something off, about this part of the territory, something that pulled at her attention and urged her to investigate.

And all the while behind her Rhys adamantly worked at getting her to stop. He knew what was wrong, he knew what they were doing. They were trespassing. This was someone's territory, and a fresh territory at that. Even his tiny nose had been able to pick it up and discern it from those that they had walked through already. This was no mix of passing wanderers; these wolves were here to stay, and he and his Serene were right in the middle of it.

His little paws scrambled over the ground as he struggled to keep up with her longer gait, so much swifter now that she had something to focus her attention on. He called after her again - "Serene, stop!" - but of course his pleas merely landed on deaf ears. She could hear nothing.

So, knowing what they walked into, the dangers that they were likely to face, Rhys braved his fears and stuck with her, traveling in her wake and hoping she might at least stop if she spotted anyone before he did. Maybe then they might still have a chance at avoiding the pack's ire, if only a little bit.

Quelt was on an intruder within minute since he was already near the borders. Though he wouldn't act aggressively as he usually would to anyone underneath pressure. He made sure to be in her field of vision so that he didn't startle her. Standing there in front of her, he made a soft movement of lowering his head to signal for her to stop. Not that he knew she was deaf but he was used to making body language signals. It was the first things wolves learned at a young age after all. Though he had experience a little bit with the elders back at home when they would begin to lose their hearing they would result in just using movements for them.
"Excuse me miss, you're on pack lands. Did you ignore the border or just miss it?" he asked curiously. Well he would find out now, as he watched the small animal that was with her. A lot of wolves in these lands had companions so it wasn't like it struck him as odd at all. His tail flicked as he smiled a little so that he wasn't scaring the girl.

The blue-colored young girl continued to walk through the forested area, ignorant of her disrespect and blatant disregard for the territory markers the pack in this area had gone through the troubles of laying down though she could scent each of them as she went. She was oblivious as well to the frantically racing chipmunk behind her, desperately trying to get her attention from the worst angle possible. Her ears, useless and unfocused, turned to either side at odd angles in her inattention, her brown eyes still focused upon the path she wound with her nose still close to the earth.

It took a figure situating himself directly in her path to finally get her to realize something was up. The second her brown eyes alighted on the steel grey wolf, the whole of her attention focused upon him, even her incessant wandering steps finally coming to a rest as she stared. Who was this? Obviously he had already seen her; his odd gaze, a color that she could not distinguish at this distance, very pointedly looked back at her, though everything about him seemed to radiate calm. Not entirely understanding just yet, Serene smiled with a wag of her tail and moved closer.

Only to stop as Rhys came between them and waved his arms maddeningly to finally get her attention. "Stop, stop!" the little winded chipmunk begged, and to his great relief the young girl did, leaning her head to the side with that typical curious look she tended to give him. With great relief, Rhys was delighted to no longer be chasing her down - he really was getting tired of it. But there was still the matter of the wolf who had spotted her.

A bit anxiously, the chipmunk turned in place and regarded the male through a pair of beady, weary eyes. He seemed nice enough, had not even been angry or offended - at least not apparently so - by Serene's trespassing. Maybe they still had a chance? "She's not familiar with borders," he volunteered in place of his charge, always willing and ready to speak up on her behalf. The poor girl was clueless; someone had to. Wringing his claws, he added, "She's a bit..." He paused, glancing at the girl who smiled down at him with her tail wagging and wondering how he could explain without demeaning her. "A bit ignorant." He seemed unsatisfied with his word choice, but it was the most accurate. He only hoped it would be enough to excuse her behavior and not get either of them in trouble.
