Motif's emotions where up and down and all over the place, it was an exhausting process to go from happy to im-going-to-kill-someone in the matter of moments. She had always struggled first with pride and second, more mildly, with a temper that nearly no one had born witness to. Now she had a full package of hormones to surface all the petty emotions she had never fallen prey to before. She was jealousy for one thing. She hadn't seen much of her dear brother Bass, he had her heart in a way no one else did ? through the shared experiences and connection of growing up together had formed a love and bond between them that she had thought could never be broken. She wasn't so sure these days, as she sat in emotion agony and wondered where Bass was and knew that he had to spend his time with his pregnant mate. All the same, she burned with a jealous that tasted sour in her mouth, knowing he was with her and not here with Motif. She didn't feel jealousy of Rhythm, in fact one of the few positive emotions that lifted her was hope for her sister, knowing that she never had to go too long before she saw her sister and that things didn't feel so bad well she was with her. Rhy was beginning to feel like an emotional blanket, she smothered some of those pesky, girlish hormonal emotions that took prey upon her when she was alone.

It got to the point where sleeping in her den at night alone was agony. She felt loneliness like she never had before, she dreamed of Shai, she pictured him in her mind and how it had felt to lay beside him, she felt regret, that was one of the strong emotions that soured her and churned sickly in her gut. Oh how she missed him, all she knew was his name, they couldn't understand the same language! And yet... she knew him, and she wanted him and she wished he was here with her now. At last, she would grow sickly of her weary half sleep and pull herself groggily to her paws. It was late, so late that it could be called early and she was sorry that she would be waking her sister, but she needed her. So, slipping free of her den she made a slow progress to her sisters place of rest and stopped by the entrance. She wuffed softly and hoped that would be enough to wake her sister.

She still hadn?t quite settled on an emotion to feel towards Motif?s pregnancy or the decision she?d made about it. She did swear that her sadness would be over, and that emotion would not be allowed to grip hold of her when she thought of the consequences. She would throw herself into concentrating on her sister, being there for her and making sure that she got through this whole. She had to focus on now, because she wasn?t sure what she?d do after. Thankfully her dreams would not be occupied by these thoughts, instead she would be teased with thoughts of who Motif?s children would grow up to be. These were the dreams that were interrupted by her sister?s chuff.
Eyes would open as she lifted her head from her paws and looked out to see her littermate at the entrance of her den. A soft smile would adorn her features, but she would wonder what she was doing here now. "Are you alright Motif?" She?d ask as she scooted over and invited her almost twin into her little hole in the ground she called a den.

Motif didn't need to wait long before eyes would open before her and she would see the soft halo of her luminescent blue orbs shinning back at Motif. She smiled at her almost twin, thinking instead of the dark making them look more alike it made them more different. She could see the blues of Rhy's orbs so clearly and in the shadows of her den her sisters coat looked silkier and darker then Motif's own. Shaking away these thoughts she took the silent invitation and slipped into her sisters den.

She slipped into the tight spot Rhy had vacated and enjoyed the warmth of the earth left over from her sisters touch. She settled herself down, her side tight against her sisters and her head cradled in her own paws as she looked out into the dens exit and sighed softly. ?I don't know Rhy, I feel all alien and strange and I dont understand myself. You know.. if I ever say something mean to you, its not me, right?? she would ask next, humour in her voice even if she was only half joking.

Rather quickly Motif would find her way into the tiny spot that had opened up for her, the action would bring Rhythm much closer to her expecting sister. She wondered how long she would have to wait before they would begin to be noticeable. Mentally she would shake her thoughts away, she could not get attached to these babies. To be able to truly be there for Motif she had to keep them from her mind. Motif, she had to focus on Motif. Her words would break through the thoughts, giving her an insight to how she was really feeling. The healers pupil didn?t know that she could help her sister in a physical way, but she would be there for her heart. "I know, Mo." She?d say sleepily as she nuzzled her sister?s dark fur lovingly.

She felt far more peaceful here beside her sister then she had in her own den. She was grateful that Rhy seemed unconcerned about being woken, even if she sounded slightly hazy and tired as she spoke her soft words to Motif. Sighing, comfortable at last Mo would settle her head back down on her paws and close her eyes. ?Thanks Rhythm? she whispered again, she felt like she was saying that a lot to her sister and the word seemed inadequate for all that this woman was doing to ease her life. ?Go back to sleep Rhy? her voice was a whisper in the dark, as she also allowed herself to drift off to sleep, so long as Rhythm didn't speak again she knew she would be oblivious in moments ? and at least she felt certain her dreams would be peaceful ones, Shai could not haunt her tonight, not well she lay her warm and happy beside her sister.

Really Motif could wake her whenever she wanted, Rhythm did not get upset when her sleep was disturbed. Mostly because she was more than likely still very much asleep during their encounter. The dark girl would likely not even remember what transpired this night. She?d wake, finding herself confused as to how her sister got there, but none the less even if she had been awake the events would have played out similarly. "You?re welcome, Mo.." Her words were soft whispers as she snuggled into her sisters side to get comfortable. Without even needing the command the young Destruction would find it easy to fall back into the arms of sleep, even before her sister?s words had finished. Her breathing would even and she would slip into a dream like state, being tormented once more of what might have been.

Her sisters voice would slip out again through the darkness, stirring her from the edge of sleep. She was barely awake now as she felt her sister snuggle into her side and all she could feel was comfort and contentment from being near her sister, for being so welcome into the understanding arms of her sibling. She knew Rhy wasn't wholly happy wth her decision, and it was a thought that bugged her so she brushed it aside to enjoy the moment. Her eyelids dropped low again and once more her vision was lost to blackness. She concentrated on the steady breathing of Rhy and the constant gentle heartbeats she could feel through their connected fur. She too would be lost to sleep, but at last she would not dream of the things that haunted her.
