Keiki

One very important question nagged at the girls mind, something she had been aware of for some time but now it occupied her whole being. Australis wanted to leave, maybe he was already gone? was it her fault? Was something wrong with her that made him leave? It was the only thing that made sense to her confused mind. Of course she had never heard his calls for the pack and the last she had seen of him was when they had talked, the points were connected in her mind.
She already knew that she was different, she didn?t grasp things as quickly as her siblings did and mom seemed to cling to her more than her brother or sister? what was it that made it so others acted differently about her?

Walk | Talk | Think

Though he knew it was something that needed to be done, Rune was dragging his feet about calling the pack together. It was high time he appointed some of the higher ranks, particularly now that the pack was growing as steadily as it was. He needed more help to guide all those under his care, and the more of that day to day responsibility that was divvied out, the more he would have to focus on other important things. Supervising, figuring out what needed to be worked on and where they stood, and eventually becoming familiar with their neighbors.

Required or not, the task was daunting to the wolf who so rarely bestowed trust upon others. His expression was brooding as he thought about it while treading through the Prairie, frosty colored eyes gazing down distractedly. Maybe if he just did it he would feel better. Working up the nerve to get it over with was slowly driving him mad.

When finally he made himself set aside the thought and lifted his gaze to fully immerse himself in the world around him again, he spotted a grey and white figure also occupying the Prairie. He was surprised at first; most often he saw Keiki with her mother or one of her siblings, not on her own. What had drawn her out here? Knowing it was likely useless for him to call out to her, Rune padded over to where his daughter was, his expression softening as he approached purposefully from an angle where she would see him. "How are you, Keiki?" he asked quietly, watching her closely through a look that was both gentle and concerned as he stepped forward to nuzzle her cheek and forehead affectionately. She seemed to be so lost in thought when he walked up. Where had her thoughts been?
