HERNE DESTRUCTION

and we'll never go to heaven but who needs to when we live this good ?

The days were growing colder and shorter, and Herne found himself less and less willing to wander far. He wasn't aware of what changes had occurred within Alacritia, and even the events that had happened nearby had not reached the youngster's ears. Change was in the air, but he hadn't the faintest clue of this. For Herne, the world was as beautiful and simple as it had always been.

Days were quiet and spent training or exploring; typical pup things. He was growing closer to adulthood, his body filling out more and more as he began to put on muscle mass and fat as well. Herne would never be bulky, but his skin was no longer taught around his bones and he looked healthy despite his small size. He was growing up, and as he drew steadily closer towards his first birthday, Herne found himself becoming more aware of life as a whole.

On this particular day, Herne had a mission in mind; he fully intended to seek out his sister and spend a little bit of time with her. There were so few pups within Threar, something that he only vaguely understood could be strange - apparently, some other packs had more than one litter inhabiting them at a time? But somehow, despite the small amount of youngsters within Threar, Herne had managed to see less of his sister than he would have desired.

And so the boy let out a squeaky howl, calling for Varda as well as he could. His voice was still young and underdeveloped, but it would hopefully carry to Varda's ears and bring her to his side. He wanted to see his sister! And hopefully she would reciprocate that sentiment and would come to visit Herne. He wasn't entirely sure what he would do if he didn't show up; he would probably just stay put for a while and then wander off, he supposed. Ah well. It seemed unlikely that Varda would not come. She was his sister, after all. They were family.

Like her brothers, the girl had never seen snow or even experienced the cold season known as winter. She had been through the storm when she was younger, but that was just rain and violent winds. Never did she realise how easy would it be to play hide and seek with her brothers in the snow. She might as well just be a fluffy snowball on legs.

She remembered the days she spent with Novella. Even now she was in a rush to grow up. Even if she was only half a year old, she felt more mature and confident than she was before. Unlike her brothers, she was destined to grow into a slim woman with an average height. She remembered her encounter with the mud. When she was older, she wanted to have perfect and pure fur just like her mother's.

She seemed to be listing differences between her and her brothers. She had not seen much of them, especially Herne. Herne and Aslan both had differences. Aslan was a large boy, far bigger than she had expected for him to grow. And for Herne...well he was just shy. She loved them both dearly, no matter their size and personality.

She recognized her brother's howl and being the respectful and obedient child she was, she found herself following his call. She approached him gently, smiling. "Hello Herne."

HERNE DESTRUCTION

i'm a pagan of the good times ,

The youngster had settled in to wait for Varda's arrival, but it didn't take his sister long at all to appear. Herne pricked his ears towards the tan girl, waving his tail in greeting. "Hello," Herne nodded towards Varda, flicking his flame colored eyes over her frame. She seemed to be doing all right, and his inclination to check on her was swiftly sated. The boy exhaled lightly, settling back on his haunches to get more comfortable.

After a moment, Herne remembered that he had called for Varda for a reason. Grinning a little at himself, Herne turned his gaze towards his sister once more. "How are you, Varda?" He questioned seriously, examining her solemnly. He had not spoken to her as much as he would wanted lately, though that was largely his fault, considering Herne didn't really speak to anyone. Still, he cared about his family, and he wanted to make sure that Varda was doing all right. They were getting older and that meant that they were finally growing up. Soon they would have to pick specialties within Threar, and Herne hadn't the faintest idea as to what he wanted to do. Maybe Varda could help there.

She was glad and thankful she had such a welcoming and caring family to guide her. Her family held the most importance in her life, but that was possibly because she never had any real responsibilities such as the older Threar members. As a pup she had only been exposed to her Destruction kin and a small sample of hunting. There was not much responsibility there. She was not aware of the many duties, positions and obligations in the pack, ones that she will soon take on herself.

"I am well," She beamed reassuringly. She held confidence and elegance in her smooth words, a surprising trait that she had recently realized with her vocabulary. She felt so...mature. Had she grown up too quickly? She dipped her head politely before moving on to ask him the same question. Surely her brother was feeling the same way, unless there was something bothering him that she could help talk through. "And you, Herne?"

She decided to join her brother and seat herself beside him. She had a feeling this was going to be a long conversation.
