Weather the Storm

The rain just kept pouring down in sheets lately. It wasn't something that the young woman was too unfamiliar with, but it was getting hard to maneuver herself when she couldn't see more than an inch or two in front of her. Water was constantly in her eyes and in her nose and her fur was absolutely soaked. As the wind swept through the fjord, a shiver coursed down her back, and the ivory fae huffed - closing her eyes and willing for the rain to lighten up just long enough for her to be able to find a relatively dry place to hide from the downpour.
With the wind howling around her, she would try and make herself small within a close cluster of deciduous trees. It wasn't enough to keep her dry by a long shot, but the thick forest would be enough to keep the wind from chilling her to the bone and getting her sick. The water fell around the trees in a way that gave her hope that she wouldn't be swept away - and in this case swept away meant being swept downward and into the water that churned below.
Glancing upward, she would note how dark the sky was, even though it couldn't be any later than mid afternoon. The clouds had blocked out the sun almost completely - the sky was dark grey, nearly black. Sighing, Lyric would sit down and huddle beside a tree, only jumping when lighting struck nearby enough for the thunder to shake the ground beneath her. To think that she was normally somewhat of a storm chaser! "Speech."
