She would stalk home from the battlefield without a word, fuming silently. Why she had defended Empyrea she had no idea. And now, as a result, she had a useless pup to care for. She wouldn't stop until they were well within the borders of her home, and away from prying eyes. Without a word, her head would tip back as she called Maija to her. She was going to put an end to this supposed desire to be a mother. Concluding her summon, she would take the child from her pale toy, daring her to object. Her haunches would lower to the chilly ground, followed by her chest. The near lifeless child was carefully placed so that he rested on her legs, off the chilly ground as she curled around him, covering him with her tail. "You have no way to feed him." Words lashed out like a whip as she pinned the girl with a glare. Maija had just a child of her own, and was surely still nursing. It seemed her golden treasure was the only home for this child. If he made it through the next week, she would be surprised. Already he had caused her enough problems. Her gaze would lower to his trembling form, eyeing him with vague distaste. Another mouth to feed.

The golden temptress had been resting when the howl reached her ears. Flattening at first for being disturbed, she realized that her Queen was the one summoning her. They perked intently as she rose from the warm den floor, shook all over, and proceeded to leave her home. Ecaterina was wrapped up with Freya, learning about herbs or something like that. Maija knew her youngest daughter was intelligent, so learning as much as she could now would benefit her young mind. With the warm thought of her daughter bonding with her older siblings, Maija proceeded to walk through the Moor to reach the silver woman.

She appeared to find Cat with the white wolf formerly known as a slave standing next to her. Cold, leaf-green eyes glared at the lower-leveled wolf before turning their gaze upon Cat's coral pools. "You called, dear Cataleya?" she asked. Her tone was indifferent, but she made it to where Cat would be the only one to understand her hidden curiosity. Her nose twitched slightly, taking in the unfamiliar scent that surrounded both women. What else was present?

To fight that pitiful Solstice wolf...  What right had that old white female to claim a young pup.  He would have been raised to be soft, just as every other damn child born in that pack.  They were spoiled brats.  What was a pack worth if it only wanted peace.  There was no such thing in this world.  The harlot was distracted from her endless compilation of thoughts by her queen's words.  They were of harsh reality.  The harlot was no nurse, indeed, and she could only lower her head and pin her ears back.  "M'Queen.  I do not."  Amethysts dulled in a small portion of regret and distaste in her decisions, but the harlot knew that some fury raged in her heart.  "Cateleya.  You didn't have to fight for a scrap of meat."  To be honest, that wasn't how the harlot had felt.  In the reality of her thoughts, the harlot had wanted to fight herself.  She had wanted to make a Solstice wolf bleed.

But that would have to wait until this shit was figured out.

That scent had been so familiar, for some odd reason.  It was the stench of Solstice wolves.  One amongst them of that russet bitch's.  "She was one of them."  That was why the queen had fought to contest that claim.  That white woman had been of Solstice, and the queen had fought for what would've turned for the worse in the fleshling that she had been keeping warm in the midst of it.  He had a lot of potential, and screw it all; it would've been wasted.  Right now, too.  There was no method of keeping him fed.  He would perish.  It was for the better, somewhat.  But maybe the silver queen had a plan for this pup.  Maybe.  The golden woman that she knew by the name of Maija appeared, unknowing of what scent wreathed them both, but most dominantly the silver queen.  The harlot could only wait.

She did little to acknowledge the pale woman as she spoke. Finally claiming that she didn't need to fight for the pup. But there was no going back now, the pup belonged to Arcanum, and he was here to stay. If he survived. Her golden toy would answer swiftly, causing her lips to pull back into a small grin. Her gaze would flicker back to Empryea, when she realized that her opponent had been from Solstice. But she had already known that, there was no mistaking their pitiful stench. "Maija, dear, I have a gift for you." She would unfurl her body to reveal the helpless pup. Her coral gaze would flicker to the golden woman, a brow lifting. "Keep him alive, he's your charge until he's no longer nursing. If he makes it that long, then I'll decide what to do with him." She remain snuggled around the pup until Maija would take him. Her gaze would flicker to Empryea. "And since you had such a desire to be a mother, you can provide Maija with whatever she needs." Firm words left her lips a little harsher than she intended. But whatever. She was battered and bruised and wanted nothing more than to take a nap.

Her eyes slightly widened at Cat's words, the meanings behind them reaching her ears and brain faster than anything else. She took a few steps towards her ruler, lowered her head down, and tenderly took the pup into her mouth. Once he was properly hanging from her jowls, she moved back to walk towards a nearby tree. Settling herself beneath it, she laid on her right side and placed the pup at her stomach. She waited until he awoke, sniffed for her milk, and successfully latched on. Nothing would be said as she focused on the new charge Cat had bequeathed her.

Maija then came back to the present, hearing Cat's final words that the white woman would get her anything she needed. A grin appeared upon Maija's face, bright and evil as she met the silver wolf's coral gaze. However, she looked up at the girl and her maw returned to stone. "I need deer meat, none from the Moor. The Plains has the better prey, and trust me, I will know the difference." She emphasized the last few words with a low growl before wrapping her tail around the small infant. She wanted the best for her children, even if this one was not naturally hers.

Main would scoop the child up, immediately moving away from them to find a place to allow him to nurse. The silver queen would rise, shaking out her pelt. Main would bark a command to Empryea, and her coral gaze immediately flickered to the pale woman. A smirk would lift one side of her mouth as she turned away from both women. There was no doubt in her mind that Maija would put the pale woman in check should she fail to follow orders. Now that everything was situated, she had her own matters to attend to, like sleep and her wounds. She would begin the trek back to her den, halfway tempted to find Kylar. Weariness tugged at her bones, but her pace didn't slow until she was out of sight. Shoulders sagged, sleep gripping her tightly. Damn kids, they were nothing but trouble....
