Curiosity Killed the Kitty

Wandering after her match at the battlefield, the leggy Saxe found herself at the edges of a pack she'd not yet encountered - not difficult considering how few packs she'd been involved with since she'd found her way back to Alacritia. So many old packs were gone... Tortuga, the only one she'd really known as a pup, was gone. She could still clearly remember the last meeting she'd been to before she'd gotten lost and wandered far from home. She could remember Taurig, the massive blue-black alpha towering over her as he conducted the meeting, her hiding beneath the forelegs of a golden woman beside him in misery after the disappearance of her family members. It hadn't been long after that she'd found herself alone and afraid and struggling to survive. The experience had changed her - Cascade was no longer the cowering wimp she'd once been and she'd found someplace to belong for now.
But that didn't mean she was going to even attempt to control her curiosity about everyone and everything. She wandered alongside the border, snuffling around at the pack scent markers to learn what she could about the pack from that and debating the merits of trespassing to learn more. Valentine would probably be a bit displeased if she got caught, and though the idea of turning his anger into make-up sex was intriguing, she decided she'd better stay on this side of the markers for now. She may be curious as a cat but her survival instinct was too well honed to let it drag her into something that idiotic. Still, she couldn't just not meet someone from this pack now that she was here, so she yowled out a call to the alpha to meet her at the border. Might as well start at the top as anywhere, right?

The male was curled around his wife, her belly growing larger day by day. She was getting huge, and it made him wonder just how many pups they would be having. Humming softly he began to lick the top of her head, a soothing motion for both of them. She was so tired these days, Wren was hardly wake for most of the day. Just enough to eat and whine about the little leeches in her belly. Chuckling softly he moved down to her neck, nibbling softly. Ah, even her scent had changed since she carried his pups. The smell of her became sweeter, and made her crave him more. But he had to push those thoughts aside, she was in no condition for that sort of thing. She might just bite off his toes if he tried, something that seemed a little too common. Motif had made a move for his toes as well. Apparently that was a thing that pregnant dames did...
A howl sounded out for the leader, and Bass' ears perked. Strange, he wasn't expecting anyone. But then again, most calls that came he didn't expect. Uncurling himself from around his wife he licked her head one last time, slipping away from the warm den and into the frigid winter. He shivered slightly, puffing up his white coat as he made his way to the scent line the separated him and the rest of the world. He rose his brow at the woman who stood there, violet fur iridescent with the snow against it. It wasn't how she looked that made him perk though, it was her scent. Imperium. Valentine was their leader, the oaf who was hitting on his sister. Swallowing his growl he closed the gap, dipping his head at the woman. "Hello, I am Bass Destruction, Azat -- or alpha -- of Abaven. Do you come with news from Imperium?" He was quite proud of him, he kept the grumpiness from his tone, instead it was his normal voice. He even smiled at her, knowing that this woman was not here to hit on his sisters. Hopefully.

She got both feet on the ground
And she's burning it down
Her call produced results - a strongly built white male with amber eyes. As he drew closer she sighed in disappointment. Sure he was handsome enough the girls were probably throwing themselves at his feet but he was so... short. No taller than her, in fact which while not a dealbreaker by itself (after all, her little green-eyed Drashiel was quite a handsome boy despite his unfortunate height deficiency) but combined with his tame coloration was just disappointing. Oh well. She'd just have to see what he was like on the underneath parts... and by that she meant his personality.
He asked if she brought news from Imperium, and her head cocked to the side, a half-smile curving her muzzle. Oh, so he knew Valen did he? Or at least of Imperium, enough to recognize her scent. "Oh no, I'm not here on Imperium business," she reassured him, her grin widening. "My business here is much more... personal." She moved to curve around him, winding like a cat and snuffing quite openly at his pale fur. What could she learn about this alpha just by scent? There was the clear scent of pregnancy lingering about his pelt and since he wasn't likely to be pregnant, he'd been spending a lot of time around someone who was. Family man? Hm, that could be fun. Though there was the scent of more than one pregnant bitch he'd been keeping company with, so she could be wrong about that. Let's find out! Be careful, Cascade, Valen wouldn't be very happy if you pissed off an ally. Test the waters. Her grin faded into earnestness. "I'm Cascade Saxe - it's such a pleasure to meet you, Bass. I was just so curious about this pack of yours. I was so alone before Valen was so kind as to take me in, you see, I know nothing about the packs around us. I was hoping you'd indulge me and... tell me a little about yourself and your pack?" She peered up at him innocently through lowered lashes, mismatched ears flopping to the side as though out of shyness. She'd told the truth about why she was here, or enough of it anyway; injecting truth made it ring more believably, more sincerely, no matter what you were saying.

She got her head in the clouds
And she's not backing down
And she's not backing down
