I dreamt they dropped a bomb

Isolde was pregnant and Soliloquy was less than impressed. Kids certainly had never been part of the game plan in his life and he wasn't ready to change that either. He didn't mix well with the little brats and certainly didn't want any of his own. The news had settled now somewhat, at least he'd given up trying to argue with the facts anyway. Isolde had returned to the den, feeling a little better though still rather shaken and shocked herself though requiring rest. He'd left her in peace, far too anxious and restless to even try pretending to sleep beside her and so now he marched across the range to find his brother. Scorpion wasn't well at the moment, the man had other problems on his mind including the near death experience from the snake bite. It was alarming news and he wished his brother a swift recovery, wanting him back to his usual self. Spilling his problems likely wouldn't help with the recovery process though Soliloquy had no one else to turn to really and would find himself with no choice but to disturb the sickly man. "Scorpion..." He'd speak quietly to begin with as he approached the den. "I need your help brother." |

He'd be holed up quite grumpily in the den, surprisingly still with his life. He did not feel like such was reason for celebration however his back paws was severely damaged. He'd sulk within the earthen place, regretting that the snake had not taken his life. Everything had fallen to shambles, his family ripped apart, his body crippled, what else would further to drag him down? He didn't know.
The man would become more aware as his brother found his way to his presence, the light sleep he'd gained disappearing as he reacted to his name called out. Lifting his head from his massive paws bright yellow eyes would seek out the source of the voice, one of the few wolves who remained loyal to him. His youngest brother. "Come in, Soliloquy," He'd utter as he made room for the younger wolf, his side rolling over laboriously as he waited what he needed help with. "I can't really do much help with my leg though.." He'd remind the boy as his head tilted in curiosity.

Never would Soliloquy agree with Scorpion's current view point on his condition. His life wasn't a complete and utter shambles and it was far better to have him alive and a little broken than it was to not have him at all. Honestly he had no idea what he'd do without his brother, Scorpion had practically been the one to raise him and perhaps he was selfish though he never wanted to lose him ever. Even with the damage to his paw, he was still one of the greatest wolves Soliloquy knew even if not all would agree with that. Perhaps he was slightly hindered for some things, he did have a point there though for the news and advice that Soliloquy needed no movement was necessary. "You'll help me I'm sure." He responded confidently as he moved into the den to join his brother, glad that Othello was not currently present. "There is no need to move, I just need to speak with you." Now came the hard part and it was here that any confidence in his tones would begin to slide away, still unhappy with the turn out and not even entirely sure Scorpion would be able to help. He'd done the whole father thing, even brought extra kids home. Maybe he'd take these ones of his and Isolde's paws when the time came? "Isolde is pregnant." There was little else to say, though the blunt sentence lacked joy and excitement expected of new parents, there was little emotion at all in his voice now. |

It seemed like Scorpion might not have realized the depth and intensity in which his brother showed his loyalty, the boy's opinion of Scorpion was much higher now than his own. He was feeling sorry for himself, falling into a rut that would be hard to emerge from. Feeling like a failure was not an encounter Scorpion had ever planned on experiencing. He wouldn't wait long for his brother's presence to be at his side, the pale boy making himself comfortable as Othello was out. Apparently he wouldn't have to work very hard to help, as Soliloquy seemed quite confident in his words. Speaking he could do.
Scorpion would lean back, ready to take in all the questions and give all the advice, but all he got were three words. His brother was going to be a father. A wide smirk would fill up his features as he took in his brother's rather bland expression and a chuckle would fall from his lips. "They're yours right?" The last time they'd really spoken of Isolde he hand't even touched the girl! Another chuckle would softly leave his lips as he settled back down, more relaxed as he watched his sibling. "Well, what do you want from me?" he wouldn't be the one to provide for them, or was he looking for someone to get rid of them? He'd tit;t his head again, his brother was full of explanations today.

Though he had anticipated his brother being far more relaxed and coping better with the entire idea of Soliloquy's potential parenthood, this was not quite what he had expected. A grin would fall upon his lips and a chuckle would sound in his initial response. A small frown would cross Soliloquy's features, this was not an amusing situation in the slightest. The expression of disapproval would only deepened at his brother's question. "Of course." Came the blunt reply. He didn't doubt it at all, there had been a few times that she had left and there had been scents of others upon her though certainly not as his own now mingled with her. As of late as well they had been near on inseparable, no outings for either of them. He was going to be a father. Though it would have been a problem if they weren't his children, Scorpion didn't see any problem at all in this situation. The scowl remained upon Soliloquy's face. He wanted help didn't he?! A solution to this horrible turn of events. "What do I want children for?" Came the only response to that, meant rhetorically of course though a part of him expected Scorpion was likely to give some sort of answer and on this current streak probably one that Soliloquy would not be pleased with. |

By the end of his first statement Soliloquy was looking quite cross, Scorpion was doing a fine job of offering the 'help' his brother needed. This would only fuel his amusement as his brother would begin his final transition from boy into man. Hopefully he'd pull it off better than himself. Scorpion had an army of children, but it seemed like he'd lost them all. Soliloquy had fully staked his claim on the little she wolf, having no doubts that he was the sire of her first litter. He'd have no trouble telling Scorpion so either. The answer that he'd eventually get was more of another question than a real answer. It seemed his brother was unsure what path he wanted to take. "I don't know why you wouldn't want them," He'd start, obviously not feeling any sympathy for his thoughtless brother. "They're fun to make, cute for a while, and if you raise them right you have perfect little minions and if you don't they just disappear forever. It's really a win, win, win situation." Would it be enough to convince Soliloquy of that was the question though.

Oh Soliloquy knew what path he wanted to take; whichever one would safely fix this mess for he and Isolde. Though Scorpion had taken the route of keeping his children for as long as he could, Soliloquy was still sure his brother would have another way for him to potentially deal with all of this. He could then go back, inform Isolde of the new plan and they could finally rest properly. Of course however that wasn't quite how this would work out, instead Scorpion would take the question and provide a real answer for it. The fun to make, yes there was certainly no denying that part. They had been too fun to make evidently, the pair unable to control themselves and now finding they had reached this mess of a situation. To some the simple answer would be to refrain from certain fun though Soliloquy certainly wasn't about to take that route. There had to be another solution. Minions. Soliloquy had always wanted power of some sort, certainly not to compete with his brother in anyway but to make him proud, help to prove how fine the Destruction family truly were. Of course only one minion had apparently remained within Scorpion's grasp, Soliloquy was still here an ever loyal follower to his brother, determined to be like him. Creating little minions would be the first step then would it not? More Destruction blood to aid and assist in Scorpion's goals. Couldn't they be Scorpion's own minions though, Soliloquy still wasn't sure he wanted his own. "They aren't that cute, and surely they destroy fun." Contrary to popular belief as of late he was no fool, Soliloquy didn't think for a moment being a parent would be an easy task. |

Dark rimmed eyes would watch as the younger brother contemplated his answer quite thoroughly. The answer he'd get seemed rather defeated in tone and length. He still wasn't really sure what kind of help this was, but it seemed like maybe Soliloquy was pushing through. Either that or the sound of handing them over to Scorpion and Othello's adoption agency seeming the best route. "I still don't see how I'm helping." You bet your butt he wasn't going to offer to babysit either. He'd been through enough of that with his own adopted brats. These were Soliloquy's responsibility. He was going to have to suck it up. "They might kill the mood.. a lot, but they still create a new kind of fun." He'd offer that gooey tid bit before adding, "You still have lots of time before you really start needing to worry, relax these last couple months." They wouldn't have much time to after the pups were born.

Scorpion didn't feel like much of a help right now and Soliloquy certainly didn't think he was being helpful either. Of course truth be told the white male had no idea what he actually wanted to hear from his brother, apart from some sort of brilliant and magical solution to make things better, not some sales pitch on how kids were in fact a good addition to your life. It certainly wasn't a convincing pitch anyway, not to the man dead set against them at least. And things were only getting from bad to worse, admitting that they were little mood killers certainly didn't help things at all and he still very much doubted that they were fun. Of course he knew he had been a kid once and somehow something about him had fortunately appealed to his brother though such thoughts were far from his mind now as he simply concentrated on his final days of freedom. They were numbered it seemed. He wasn't sure he would be able to relax though he would try to find something he decided for now however he would steer the topic away from this depressing matter and apparently right onto another hardly joyful subject. "How is your paw now?" |
12-03-2014, 03:42 PM
Obviously he wasn't saying the words that Soliloquy wanted to hear, the boy wanted some magic potion cure, but he really wasn't going to get it. Isolde was pregnant and unless he rid himself of their lives now or when they were born, he was going to have to accept the duty of being a father. He could tell he wasn't really selling the idea to his free spirited brother, he was not ready to settle down and take this role. Though how well he would do was still up for debate, Scorpion would just sit back and watch, helping if he had to.
Soliloquy would find that the answers he wanted were not coming and the subject would soon be changed, redirecting to his injury. Scorpion could barely look at the terrible wound, and he'd wonder if he'd even be keeping the paw that had been struck. It was still rather swollen, and pussy and he was not amused. "It's.. a snake bite." He'd comment, not so positive sounding. He'd list his paw to more accurately show his brother, keeping his eyes averted as he did so.

Of course there wasn't any quick fix solution for them now there was still the option for terminating the pregnancy though he didn't want to put Isolde in any such risk. Perhaps one day he'd be able to look on the ordeal in a more positive light and be glad that it hadn't ever been considered an option but for now there surely had to be some other solution staring him in the face. His life couldn't be over already, it had only really just began. Just as Soliloquy wasn't really eager to talk about the children, Scorpion didn't exactly wish to discuss his paw. The healing progress or seemingly lack of would be demonstrated now as the injured foot was extended with a glum mutter and gaze cast aside. Soliloquy would take a brief glance at the sickly looking wound fortunately keeping the look of disgust from his face as he examined it. It was certainly an ugly sight, looked horrible and painful. Scorpion had his sympathy though at the end of the day. "Orchid is here. You should get her to look at that." He would suggest, perhaps he should have thought to mention that wound to Orchid earlier though it had escaped his mind with all the baby talk. That had ended now, and to be honest even on this matter he had little else really to say. The attempt to change the subject had been quite a failure really. |

He'd try not to peek at his brother's expression but it was hard not to. His face looked quite similar to his own the last time he'd looked at it. Likely it was even worse by now. If the venom didn't kill him he was sure the infection would. He'd pull the limb back against himself as Soliloquy would make a sudden suggestion. Scorpion's jaw would drop as he said those words, he'd been in need of her and she'd been here the whole time? He'd growl lowly, mostly out of frustration but a rather large bit of anger would seep in as he would snarl at his brother, "Then go get her!" He wouldn't lash out with anything with his voice however, refraining from biting something as he tried to contain his sudden fury. Taking a deep breath and seeming to cool off enough that his hackles would fall back down he'd add, "Please." before he closed his eyes from the sudden headache that attacked him.

Yes he should have thought to his brother sooner though clearly Soliloquy was suffering from some rather selfish thoughts right about now. Rather than stay and comfort Isolde or discuss matters with her, here he was asking his brother for some kind of escape route and now already plotting how he might live his last two months of freedom. It was only in the moment of searching for some distraction of children that he had thought to link the fact that Scorpion needed a healer and the fact that Orchid was here. Scorpion wouldn't be too pleased with the delay and rightly so. He should have thought of it sooner, mentioned it to Orchid when she had arrived earlier. Isolde had been his concern at that moment however hopefully when he was feeling better his brother would forgive him for that. Silently he would obey, backing out of the den and trying to guess where his sister might have gone to now. A part of him was surprised she hadn't tried to visit Scorpion already if he was honest, though it didn't occur to him that in his lack of care for Isolde, his sister was possibly fulfilling her role of a healer and trying to find ways to help the poor pregnant woman cope. Swiftly he would give up and let out a call for her instead, bright eyes glancing around and awaiting for her to arrived before him. Would she come? He hoped so, this wasn't for him after all and hopefully the tone of urgency would prove that fact that he wasn't being a selfish idiot at that moment in time. |
