Interesting little creatures, they would nibble on the grass then the moment he moved they would dart into their little holes. Hercules stood near the entrance to one of these, tail wagging as he poked his snout inside and sniffed around. It was very strong, as if a whole pack of them lived underground. How was that possible though? Hercules pulled back and took a few steps away from the hole, plopping himself back down and laying on his stomach. He would put his head atop his paws, tail going still so he wouldn't scare the animals again with his clumsy movement.

Rabbits, a new and fascinating creature he was trying to learn about while away from his family and most of the pack. So many questions had filled his little head this morning, trying to think of answers but coming up with nothing. Why were they so small? Why were they so fast? Did they live in packs like wolves? Why do they live underground? So much! And so, he was trying to observe, see if he could find those answers if he was still and silent long enough for them to become comfortable and come back outside. Hopefully.

Phoebe was tired of being pregnant. She had been tired of it for a while now, but now she was really just sick of it. Her stomach had grown to the point of her having to wadle slightly everywhere she walked. She was always tired and being tired made her irritable which made her not want to be around much of anyone to keep from snapping at them. She had good days and bad days, but this seemed to be one of her good days. She moved slowly across the territory, trying to get out of the den for a little bit and stretch her legs. She was feeling better overall, but still not real great.

She spotted a form laying still on the ground up ahead and she peered at him curiously. She recognized him as Natalya and Helios's son from seeing him around the pack in passing. Even if she hadn't it would be easy to guess his father from his rusty red coloring. Her brother did certainly have a very distinctive coloring. She padded toward him, wanting to simply know why he was out here by himself, but she noticed how still he was laying and how focused he was on a spot ahead of him. She quietly walked up beside him and settled onto her stomach, peering out toward a hole his gaze was focused on. "What are you doing?" she whispered.

Wrapped up in what he was doing, the young boy would not catch the sound of pawsteps approaching him from behind. Orange eyes were wide and focused, not wanting to miss a single thing about these little creatures he was trying to watch and learn about. It was only when the pregnant woman had come up beside him that Hercules noticed, head whipping to the side and eyes narrowing on the woman in slight frustration. "Shhhh!" He hushed her, coming out more harsh than he had intended. He would turn his head back to look forward, ears readjusting themselves, making sure that the woman and himself didn't scare away any of the small animals.

With a small smile, finding that nothing had changed, the end of his tail little moved from side to side. And since nothing had changed, the boy would turn his head slightly to the side, gaze focusing on the woman's oddly grey eyes. "Sorry." He whispered quietly, turning his attention back to the hole. He hoped she wouldn't be too mad at him, the boy was just trying to be as still and quiet as possible so the rabbits came out but then she appeared and could have ruined everything.

With a soft sigh he would lay his head back a top his paws in a more comfortable position, tail wrapping around his left hindleg. "Waiting for them to come out." He added on after a few moments of silence, even giving a small motion of his head to the dark hole in the earth. Did she know about these things? Would she be able to answer some of the questions he couldn't?

Phoebe raised a surprised brow at him when he hushed her, not expecting such a harsh reaction to her appearance. She wanted to scold him for acting rudely to his elders, but he looked back and apologized before she had the chance. She let it go this time since she was certain Natalya had taught him better and he did remember to apologize. She watched him while he settled down and finally explained himself, putting a mildly confused look on her face. Wait for who to come out? He followed his gaze back to the hole he was looking at intently and she realized what he was doing with a smirk.

"You're never going to get them out of there like this," she whispered quietly. She nodded toward a tall, thick patch of grass a few feet away. It was a further distance from the rabbit hole than he currently was. "Come on." She pulled herself up and quietly walked over to the brush she had pointed out and crouched down behind it. She motioned with her paw toward it and told him softly, "Hide in this. Your fur is dark and stands out against the grass so they'll see you more easily. Plus the grass will help hide your scent a little bit." Her words were hushed to keep from scaring the rabbits any more than they already were. "Now just wait quietly like you were and watch. And if you want to try to catch one you've got to move reeeally fast."
