It had been a hard journey to travel here. Carrying Shiki to their new home to settle in somewhere a little more plentiful for prey. She was worried for the boy's father. He seemed to be becoming more scarce and the other with him had disappeared. But, in staying with her adopted son, Pamela found herself learning more and more what motherhood was like. It... wasn't easy. That much was for certain. But the slate wolfess took it in stride. It was an adventure like any other and, truthfully, she enjoyed pampering the child.
The female wasn't far from the den, near a pond that served as a water source for the two. The child was sleeping, likely exhausted from the long journey. But Pamela would be damned if anything happened to the kid. She cared for him, even if it wasn't her own by blood. This was the will of the gods, she was sure.
Tongue would lap up the water at her paws, sending ripples across the surface. Ears would flicked forward, eyes open as she searched for the shadow figures that would tell her of another being. Life was quiet, peaceful... but... perhaps a bit more dull than she was hoping in some ways. What was it she was lacking...?
