for illaria, kieran and ravenna
She had left the pack meeting, kids in tow, returning to their den. It stilled needed a few renovations, but it would do for now. Later, she planned to make it larger to accommodate all of them and their growing masses. Exhaustion kept her quiet for most of the journey back the den, speaking only briefly. "Would you all like something to eat?" She would come to a halt just outside the den, waiting for their answer before either venturing off to hunt or slip inside with them and sleep. She stared down at them all fondly, a gentle smile curling her lips. The chilly wind whipped around them. She wasnt sure who would be the first to crack, her or her kids. This place was dreadful. Perhaps the spring would be better. She had never been one for cold. Already she missed the warmer temperatures of the south.

speech

Ravenna had been silent since they had left, keeping her tongue in check while making her displeasure obvious with pointed staring and glares. Though most of them were directed at her mother’s back so it didn’t exactly have the effect she wanted. So the cherry child would stomp after the red woman, the horrible cold of the north pushing through her pelt and chilling her to the bone which did very little to help her mood.

Finally her mother would stop before the den and turn to look at the them. Asking about if they were hungry. Ravenna finally abandoned her vow of silence.  “Where’s daddy?” She almost demanded it, staring indignantly at her mother.

Ravenna would be the first to speak, finally breaking her silence. Though the words that spilled from her pale lips were not the expected ones, they came as no surprise. A sigh rolled from her tongue as she peered down at snow for a brief moment, wondering exactly what she would tell her children. "He's gone. There is another in his life who he loves." More.... Her verdant gaze collided with her daughters, meeting her indignant stare with coolness. She would not be harmed by her daughter evident displeasure over their current situation. "We are starting a new life now, together. Whether it be here or back in the south, wherever you guys want." She could at least give her children the option of where they live after their entire worlds had been uprooted by the whims of their father. A fiery rage still burned in her chest over what he had done her, to their children, to their pack. He had cast it all aside for the pleasures of a whore. Perhaps when her kids were older she would tell them more, but for now they were still too young, they didn't understand the pleasures of the world. Her gaze would cast over Illaria and Kieran, both of whom remained silent, staring wide eyed up at her. This was not the life she envisioned for her children, nor the life she desired for them. But it was too late for that.
