let it snow let it snow let it snow

The snow had presented a new challenge to the blind girl, it's depth and ability to cover the territories would discourage her from moving about the territory as much. Though she had no trouble with the trails and paths that were laid down already she had to rely on Solo much more heavily than she was used to. Not that he would have ever complained, he knew that she was much more capable than imagined but still seemed to enjoy being able to help her. The silver she wolf would be set delicately upon her favored place in the territory, a large pine with rather high branches. Coupled with the snow it made a beautiful shelter she was rather loathe to leave. Her features would rest easily on her paws as she leaned easily into Solo's side. Even though she'd never be able to see him she knew how much bigger he was than her. When they'd first met they had been of similar size, but as time went on she had hardly grown bigger at all. He was practically a giant now, and snuggling into his warm side she would be thankful for that size difference. He truly was her Prince. The small girl would sigh softly as she rolled closer to him, nuzzling the soft fur that coated his chest. She may have been a prisoner, but really she didn't care where she was as long as Solo was at her side. Her maw would hold a gentle smile and her sightless gaze would be closed in Bliss. This would only be better if she had her family as close as they'd once been. |

She was right, he did in fact love helping her. He had started off a bit strong, guiding her most of the time on their adventures but as they had begun to grow together had had come to quickly realize that she didn't need him to do that so he had backed off without being asked. She had never said anything to him, he had simply come to realize that she was probably just fine, especially in pack territory that she had come to know so well. He had helped a bit when they had first moved to Ebony but soon enough she had been fine on her own. With the snow… It wasn't their first snowfall but it might as well have been. The territory here was more snow riddled then his old home or Olympus and not as well walked. Damn in Covari there had barely ever been untouched snow with all the wolves that had walked through there. But here… It was beautiful. Every so often he walked into a snow drift and sank to his neck but that was no big deal. He had taken it upon himself to break trail for Gaia as of late as well and to hunt more. She hadn't asked again, he had simply started.
She had found this place, he really didn't know how but he had come to love it even more then the den they usually slept in together. The ground was still almost bare of snow and around the limbs of the tree the snow had collected in a well of sorts to create a wall between them and the world as well as a thankful wind break. It was warm here, despite the fact that the snow itself was cold it provided surprising insulating qualities. Today they had come here again, Solo lounging on his side languidly with Gaia curled into his side. She was awake, he could tell that much from her breathing but she was relaxed enough that she might be dozing. He would remain silent for a time until she shifted, nuzzling closer him him and easily his tail would lift and drop over her hips. "Hey Gaia? What should I call you?" He mused, still looking out at the wall of snow that surrounded them. "I mean… We have been in an 'arranged' marriage for how long now? But with everything we never made anything official… Can I call you my wife?" He would ask, turning bi coloured eyes down to look at her even if she couldn't see his puzzled look.

She wasn't sure that there could have ever been a better companion for her, Solo was completely perfect. The way he would so simply shift himself into a protective role, he learned quickly where she excelled and where she floundered and would quickly adapt as would best effect her. Whenever she did wish to move about he would create perfectly safe trails while she had never even asked this of him. Of course, she would show him her appreciation in as many ways possible. It was easy to tell she was falling in love with the man. Her smile would grow as she felt his tail lay gently over her hips, instantly warming them even more. Their little shelter was quite warm, but still the shared body heat was more concentrated. Her ears would swivel to catch the words Solo would whisper to her, he never had to talk too loudly with her. His question would confuse her though, and she'd open her eyes as curiosity overtook her features. She'd look up at him, rolling onto her back as he continued his thought. She'd follow him easily, but wouldn't quite expect his last question and the surprise would be evident on her face. As well, a pleased smile would appear, realizing she wouldn't ever want anything more than that. She smile up at him, quiet for a moment before reaching up to place a kiss on his cheek, "I wouldn't want anything else," she'd whisper quietly. The wedding had been all planned had it not? They were just going to have a head start, they could always have a real ceremony when they got back to Olympus... If they got back to Olympus. So much time had passed since she'd heard anything at all from her family, she didn't even know. Not even Poe had been to see them. Should they have Kass perform a ceremony or anything? "How will we make it official?" She'd ask with curiosity as she nuzzled him tenderly. |

It was so easy being with her, it always had been. She had stood loyally at his side through it all just as he had stood at hers and for that he could never really thank her enough. There were so many things that he wanted to do for her, things he wanted to do with her but he had always struggled with where to start. Maybe this was the way to start. She rolled into him as he spoke, obvious confusion written all over her face until he went on and told her that he wished to call her his wife. She would smile, it would grow slowly and her smile would make him smile. It was beautiful... Her words were a whisper, soft and sweet as she said that she would like for him to call her that and then asked how they would make it official. For a moment his head would tip as if considering it but in all honestly he had had a plan for this for a while now. He would turn his head slowly and look back to the snowbank before a soft whisper would slip past his lips. "The only thing I need for it to be official is for you to say yes..." Nose would tip so he would once again turn towards her, reaching forward to touch his nose to her cheek before slowly pushing himself into a seated position.
Alright, now or never. He would draw in a deep breath before standing and making his way slowly around the tree. He had found the ugly little creature a day or so ago now and had built it a little nest behind the tree, he walk to it in a few steps and was glad to see it still alive despite the cold. He had gotten the idea from his sister and her creepy little wolverine companion. Slowly he would reach down, scooping the creature up in his jaws and holding it gently against canines as he lifted it and slowly waddled his way back to Gaia as if the slightest movement would disrupt the delicate balance he had left the little creature in. He would move to her side and slowly place the creature on her side right behind her shoulder and along her ribs. "I found this bird... I think it's a baby, maybe its hurt... It's kinda ugly but I figured that maybe we could take care of it then it could help you if I ever can't..." He would say, dropping his haunches to the ground as he scrutinized his gift. Of course it was only his first gift but what if she didn't like it?

He'd answer her question softly but only after a bit of contemplation, all they needed was words. She'd sigh softly as he kissed her gently, becoming confused as he left her side. She would only wait for his explanation for movement, her form shifting so her belly was again touching the ground. He seemed to prepare himself with a large breath before moving around to the back of the tree, she'd swivel her ears to try and decipher what he was doing over there. He was too quiet for her to discern anything, but as he came back she'd catch the scent of bird on his breath, and it seemed to still be alive. She wouldn't jump when he put it at her side, though she had expected him to set it before her as a meal. His words would explain everything, as she realized the confusion that had fallen on her face. What he'd given her was easily the sweetest gift she'd ever been given. Speechless she'd nuzzle the little thing to her fur, the little guy was quite cold. "He's the best gift I've ever gotten." She'd whisper, "You should know that I don't care if it's ugly," a giggle would leave her lips as she looked back up to him. "Do you want to help me name him?" |

She was motionless for a time, shock evident on her features and for a moment a wave of terror would roll over him as he worried that she didn't like it. If she didn't like it then they could always just eat it... Right? But then she would reach back over her shoulder and nuzzle the little fluff ball he had placed there. He would watch carefully from his seated position, curious until she would whisper sweet words to him. Relief would wash over him, shoulders drooping a bit as a soft smile trickled over his lips and he watched her touch the creature. Well bird... But it was ugly for a bird... But she said she didn't care and he would chuckle softly in return as she turned to look back to him as she asked him if he would like to help name it. "I think you should. It will always be with you after all, you should pick a name that you like." He would murmur softly before standing and shaking himself out once more. "Think on it, I'll be right back... One more surprise." He would say softly before turning and making his way back around this tree. He had left his second present beside the bird's little nest but had decided to only bring one at a time, another deep breath before he would reach down and pick it up, a delicate thing really, a soft silvery metal with two white feathers trailing off the side. Again he would turn around and start off back towards her, this time gaze more languid as long limbs pulled him back around the tree. It was times like this he was glad Gaia was blind, if she wasn't she would have seen these things when she had come in.
He would move to stand before her, lifting head high and moving his head to attempt to drag the feathers across her nose with a soft chuckle before placing it before her paws so she could touch it if she liked. "I'm not sure what it is... But when my mom proposed to my other mom she gave her a bracelet, a pretty silver things with two feathers intertwined and red gems on one feather and purple on another. I couldn't find anything to match out coat colours but this one matches yours. The bird kinda matches me so I figured it would work. I also thought maybe you could wear this on your tail?" He would ask, curious if she would comply and allow him to help her put it on. He had thought this through but still he was worried, this was basically him saying that he wanted Gaia to have these things to show the world that she was his. Would she say yes?
