The winter made it awfully hard to find new plants to bring back to Grandma. Everything was so cold and frozen. Plants don't like the cold and neither did Zuriel. To top it off Momma had been watching all of them sooo closely since Reg got hurt and now Daddy was back so it was almost impossible for her to get out to hunt the elusive herbs and flowers down, but she did it today! While Daddy was hunting and Regulus was playing with Faite, Zuriel slipped away and headed out of the willows to see if maybe she could find something to show Erani. She loved her lessons with her Grandma and she was learning so much from her about all the herbs and what they do and how they can help others.

Her black-tipped paws moved her easily through the layer of snow that covered the ground while the sun rose till it was high in the sky above her, making everything glitter. She saw the icicles in the trees beginning to drip and melt and she wondered if maybe winter was finally beginning to end and all of her beloved plants would return. Then everything would be green and warm, just the way she liked it. The thin silver-hued pup came to the edge of the lake and peered out toward the middle of it. It was hard to see with all the snow covering it, but she saw the huge rock in the middle and wondered how it could have gotten there. Surely there was no wolf strong enough to push it out there. Or was there? Did there used to be wolves that big? Or did the rock get there before the lake formed around it?

The male one year old had wandered aimlessly through the landscape. He hardly stayed in one place for very long and had been alone for almost his entire life. No one really showed him much love, so he was hardly ever speaking to anyone, even if he were spoken to. The loud sound of a stream filled his ears as his throat began to become dry, showing that he was coming parched as his paws pressed down upon the small layer of snow as Spring was beginning to take affect. His dual colored eyes of emerald and topaz looked over to the water as his salmon tongue lapped at the cool liquid, quenching the thirst that was surrounding his throat, but, before he could even walk away on his own again, he happened to see a young pup that had to be around five or six months. He tilted his head to the side and approached her cautiously, not wishing to show that he was going to harm her in any way as he sat upon his haunches and focused upon her.
