and it's our time now if you want it to be, maul the world like a carnival bear set free

The sunlight at the mouth of the den taunted the violet girl, dared her to step into the golden rays. Oh yes, this was the day, she could feel it in her wee little bones. Already it had become obvious she was the smallest baby, her sister Millicent was already taller than her. Not that it mattered, it would just mean she had to really work at it if she wanted to chew on her sister's ears. Alabaster toes churned the dark sand beneath her tiny paws, eager to be out there. Should she go? Yes, this would be her adventure. It was clear that she was ready to be out there, and she wanted to see what the outside was like. Looking to her momma and her mommy and her sister, she wondered if she should wake them for this first outing. Her lavender plume stilled momentarily as she considered this, ivory stained features tilting to one side was she watched them. But she wanted to go outside! She didn't want to wait for everyone to wake up and tell her to wait another day, or another week, or even another hour!

Without a second thought, she turned away from her family and bounded forward. The mouth of the den was a tempting thing, but she'd never been allowed to leave the safety and darkness of her birthplace. Poking her blunt snout into the sunshine, she marveled at it all. A goofy grin came to play upon her features; it was beautiful! The abundant ebony sands called to her. She wanted to race across the glittering beach with all her heart. There was some Diem to be Carpe'd here, and she wasn't about to tell the day she wasn't going to seize it.

With reckless abandon, she toddled forward on still unsteady limbs, ready to see what the world was ready to give her on this day. Finally, she was out and seeing it all! Childish glee bade her begin to giggle, while she trotted out into the open. What was all that just out there? It moved like a living thing, trying to crawl up the beach, and then sliding away again. Hackles bristling with wariness, the girl started her descent down the beach. What was it? Would it eat her? Fluffy tail sticking straight up in mild alarm, she picked her way toward the thing. Gosh, it went on forever. Her short, unsteady legs meant it took much longer than it would have for an adult to reach the edge of the dark beach, but she made it nonetheless. Her family had yet to find her, but she wouldn't be surprised if her mom's came to ruin her fun.

Sidling up alongside the thing, she watched it attempt valiantly to climb up the beach. It was a strange thing, all see through. Nervously she would slap at it with her pale toes. In reply, she was assaulted by beads of the clear stuff. It was liquid, she determined when she was struck in the face with it. Blinking the salty aqua from her eyelashes, she frowned at it. Hesitant steps led her further into the sea, where she was promptly tickled by the gentle drag of the shallow waves against her legs. Laughing, she started dancing in a small circle within the surf. This was great!

The girl was content to stay beside her mothers, the warmth radiating of them more welcoming then the outdoors. She had yet to see what the world had to offer, her golden gaze only ever seeing the entrance. The sky was blue, and then black later on during the day, the babe soon realised. Movement would prod her sides, her sister awakening in higher spirits then usual. A yawn Would slip Milli's lips, her long lashes patted together repeatedly in an attempt to waken herself fully. Her vision was still blurry though, to tired to move. Though, she would see her sisters figure slip out of their home. Their safety. Everything they ever knew. With a huff and sigh, Millicent would raise onto her stubby feet, following swiftly after her adventurous sister. Though, as soon as she reached the outside world the babe would fall flat to her face, her balance not quite perfected in the early morning. A soft and short cry would leave her lips, though after enough self pity she would lift herself and run after her smaller sister. They were sisters by chance, but friends by choice she'd believe. With a lot of huffing and puffing, Millicent would finally catch up to Absinthe, her eyes filled with shock. Trying to hide her panting, her lips would part. " Absinthe! You'll die in that stuff! Look, Look! it's eating your legs!" She would scream in delight before rushing of to join her. Her paw would flick the surface, attempting to splash Absinthe. " No fair! I should have been the first one to go on an adventure!"

and I'm eating at the beat like you gave a little speed to a great white shark on shark week

Her sister was quick to join her, shrieking in delight that mixed with mock fear. Giggling, the violet girl bounded forward to greet her sister with an overly affectionate air. Wobbly limbs cantered toward the slightly larger girl, and she bumped her chest against the other's shoulder far from gracefully, flailing wildly until she managed to get her forelimbs around her sister's neck in a loving gesture. Slobbery tongue would escape her maw so she could lather her sibling in greeting. She knew not what was wrong with their other sibling, who had yet to even get up from the floor of the den. It was like they were dead, but they still breathed and whined and ate sometimes.

"Milli!" She cried joyfully, nuzzling her sister's cheek. However, when the assault of water came, her affections were forgotten. All the lass could do to react was squall loudly, dancing away with glee. The leopard spotted girl protested to her being the follower on this adventure, and all she did was snort. "Well then you shoulda got your big fat bum outta bed!" She retorted teasingly, grinning like a doofus. Her tail wagged at a mile a minute, delighted by the interaction with her sister. She returned the attack by flinging water as well, a melodious peal of laughter erupting from her minuscule jaws.

Who would have thought that life could be so fun! Though little did the babes know that this was just the beginning. The area was filled with laughter as the girls played, and for just a moment- how could one think there was such evil in the world? Absinthe would wrap her forelimbs around Millicent playfully, wrapping her up in a bear hug. With little movement, Mill had no choice but to suffer through the slobbery kissed. " Ew!" Her body would wiggle away and before she knew it water would splash her way. Her dry and nicely groomed fur now turned to a wet, sloppy mess. Oh no! What happened to all her pretty fur? She would stop suddenly, her crown tilting towards the dry lands, a smirk would slightly play upon her thin lips before looking to Absinthe. " Did you hear that?... Do you think there's monsters in hiding?"

Her sister's horror at being splashed was by far the funniest thing she'd ever seen, and the babe began to giggle profusely, until she couldn't stand upright anymore, and fell straight into the salty waves at their feet, rolling around with mirth. Her face! Snorts erupted from her maw, and she couldn't help herself. It was okay that she didn't want her kisses either, Milli still loved her right? Their play was now stopped, and as she slowly rolled to her feet, the girl was a sopping wet ball of violet and alabaster fur. Her sister was watching her with curious golden eyes, but no one could miss the mischief glinting in their amber depths. When the other girl spoke, she couldn't help but gasp. Monsters? Here, in their home? What were the going to do? She shook her head, because all she'd heard was the soft lap of waves against the shore.

Then came the wagging of a small, fluffy lavender tail. Of course! "We'll have to fight them off, Milli!" She cried in delight, her whole body wiggling with glee. Yes, she was going to fight off those monsters and keep everyone safe! Tiny legs set to bounding from the sea and onto the beach, where the monsters were hiding. "Come on Milli!" She barked joyously, the ebony sands clinging to her toes. It was time to fight monsters, right?

Vi would awaken to the sound of laughter and shouts followed by silence. Blearily eyes would crack open before she would slowly lift her head and study her side where she was lacking two little bodies. Welp, apparently they thought it was a good day to have their first outting. Slowly Vi would lift herself, careful of her right leg as she only really used her left to support herself anymore. She would lift herself to a standing position before slowly hobbling out of the den. Damn her leg hurt in the mornings... But at least winter was over for the most part. She would yawn again before lantern gaze would slowly sweep the area to find her daughters. They were playing in the water, harmless for now but slowly Vi would meander her way towards them in time to catch the mention of monsters. Ah monsters... The best way to scare children, the red woman's smile would slowly slip in place as she moved to seat herself a short ways from her children. "Be careful Abby, I don't want to have to pull you out of a monsters belly!" Vi would call after her more rambunctious daughter, lantern gaze twinkling deviously.

The girls would have a new adventure today, monster sight seeing! If only. Millicent would glue herself beside her sister, the presence of her sibling always comforting, even if Milli knew this was only a joke. Her laughter would stop though as she hears some ruffling and shifting close by. Oh no, what if there really is a monster lurking to gobble them out? " Well Abby, I'm the oldest so I'm never afraid!" She would snort in confidence before taking a step forward. Though as soon as she did her mother would appear onto the scene. A grin would widen upon her features before running like a lunatic towards the red lady, A scream would part her lips, wishing she sounded like a warrior though coming of more as a high pitched squeak. She would smack into her mother's side and fall hysterically. " But mama you'll always be around to slay all those ugly monsters!" Though the girl was only joking a part of her always did believe her mother would save her from all evil until the babe was old enough to defend herself.

and it's our time now if you want it to be, maul the world like a carnival bear set free

Mommy Vi was always so quiet, despite her hurting leg. Absinthe found herself wondering how she had hurt herself, but never remembered to ask mommy why she limped all the time. It didn't ever come to be that important in her young mind. Dancing on her little alabaster toes, she was all worked up and ready to fight the invisible monsters. Her mothers lyrical amusement caught her by surprise, and her head whipped around, mismatched gaze falling upon the lithe crimson form of her mommy. A wide grin split her dark lips, and her quarrel with the nonexistent dangers was forgotten. Short violet legs stuttering for a moment as she got herself together, bounding up to her mommy with the biggest grin a child could wear.

With Milli at her side, she all but crashed into mommy Vi. Giggling, she pawed at her mother's chest until she got herself propped up on her hind legs. It wasn't long before she had her entire face buried in Viridiana's chest, letting out quiet sounds of affection. She loved her mommy, and she wanted her mommy to be around forever. Her sister toppled over onto the sands, proclaiming for all the world to know that the great Viridiana would always defeat the evil monsters. Wait second! "I'mma help too! I'mma fight all th' monsters with mommy!" She all but shrieked, so the world would know she too was going to be the greatest monster fighter the world had ever seen! Even better than mommy! A fierce puppy growl would escape her minuscule jaws, one that would soon shake the very ground and strike fear into the hearts of beasts and wolves alike. No one would ever mess with her and her family!

With all that excitement over, she found her legs very tired. This was a big day, it seemed, and now she would very much like a rest. With a contented sigh, the lavender darling snuggled herself up against mommy Vi's side, the one not currently occupied by her sister. "Mommy, will you tell us a story?" She asked placidly, resting her cheek on her mommy's sanguine flank and gazing up at her with round eyes. "One about how you met mama?" She added slowly after, blinking a few times. Stories were nice, she liked stories, they never got old, and were always different. It was like an adventure, withotu the commitment. What could be better than that?
