Voltage...was restless. He hated to stand still, but it seemed that running around did little for them. He explored endlessly, but so far the Volcano was the best suited for them that he could find. He had made a trip back to the island, came home and started to plan a birthday party, and yet he was restless. It was days like these that he felt like he had been standing still for day after day, stuck in a cave while the world flittered around him. He wanted to move, despite that he hadn't stopped moving. Maybe it was because he felt so much in these past few days, moving between pain and rejection to love and sentiment to play and excitement and back again with such a quick succession. Maybe he felt so mixed up, so restless because he needed to work out all these emotions that he constantly felt so fully, so strongly, yet so fleetingly.

Which is why he was nearly exuberant when he found the battlegrounds of this place, or at least what he could perceive as a battle grounds. The smell was rich with blood soaked into the grounds, and the feeling of loss, of death and victory was so thick around him. He felt alive here, like this was a place where he could excel. Voltage had always felt like he, himself, were a warrior. Someone who would stand up for the sake of his family and defend each of them in turn. And now that he found this place he knew that he could do exactly that. It would take practice to become well off as a warrior, to become strong enough to face any foe, but he was certain that he could be great with practice and lessons. With a gentle smile he moved towards the general center of the battle fields, feeling the compact sand beneath his toes. He shifted his toes, gripping at the ground as best as he could but also to feel the earth. He imagined what Terrae would feel here, whether he would deem this natural or too far touched to be considered natural. He lowered his head and tried to even his weight on all his limbs to become the wall his brother always was. Weight set evenly upon each limb, his hind legs bending to give him the movement and agility he was known for, though Serefina always beat him in agility. His tail shifted behind him for balance, but low enough to defend his…delicates from any prying teeth. His jaws parted even for play as eyes narrowed and ears pressed back. Shifting his legs, he pulled and bunched his excess fur along his neck to protect it. He knew it was probably a waste to defend himself so completely without an opponent, but he couldn’t chance someone leaping out and surprising him.
