He would shift his weight uncertainly at the border to his uncles home. He did not foresee this to be one of the better meetings he had with his uncle, but it needed to be done. His russet crown would tip back, a call slipping from his lips as he requested his uncles presence. Spotted haunches would fold beneath him as he settled into wait. He had come alone, not wanting to subject Ekko to anymore of his families disapproval or callous words. If his uncle wished, then he would happily introduce them, and maybe one day bring them to join the pack. He wasnt entirely sure he wanted to join again, to live with the constant reminders of his mothers death, but if it meant that his family would be that much safer, he would make the sacrifice. Rusty audits tipped forward, verdant gaze snapping across the horizon nervously. He knew that the moment his uncle arrived he would smell Ekko and Cohen on his pelt, it would only be a matter of filling in the gaps.

Walk | Talk | Think

The pack was still in the midst of its festivities, and Rune had to admit he was actually enjoying himself. There seemed to be an overall sense of joy from his pack members, albeit some shock and surprise from his own children at the knowledge they were going to be big siblings, and it seemed to be infectious. Even when he was not smiling, which was surprisingly more frequent now, there was an air of ease about his demeanor, a sense of contentment that everything was good in the world, and that things would only continue to get better. His hopes were high, and his prospective future looked bright.

He was this way as he moved to answer his nephew's call, his posture tall but more relaxed and curious than he had likely previously seemed. It was only his nephew coming back to pay him a visit again, just family stopping by, and so in that he could find nothing to sound any alarms. Not even when he saw the boy did he immediately notice anything amiss, but as he neared and saw more clearly the look of stress and noted the odd combination of scents that came off of him Rune's bright eyes darkened with a worry of his own. Was this not simply a friendly family visit after all? His gait quickened over the last short distance, and his deep voice called out to the youth even before he stopped before him. "Colten. Is everything alright?"
